IMO when christ talks about the generation that wont pass he is refering to israel as a nation. I belive christ has not returned other wise we would be living in the 1000 years of peace and rulership by the lord which we are not. None of the seals have been opened i dont think as i tihnk they will all happen in a seven year period. Were on the build up to it all the now.

Also speaking of christ returning like a theif in the night to collect his followers isnt that was the rapture is about?. He will collect his choosen when he decides i dont belive that is when he will 'return' to rule however.
 
For the world His coming will be a shock and a surprise, but for the believers it won't be!

The verses listed by Reznworks - you need to deal with them one by one. An 'interesting piece ' is not enough.
Mt 10 about the discples - The Son of Man coming back before they finished preaching
Mt 16 some of you STANDING here will not die before the Son of Man comes - ESPECIALLY THIS ONE !

MT 24:34 This generation will not pass untill therse events happen. The events happenned ! Did the Son of Man come back.

Go through all the verses sincerely tht Reznworks posted. Are they for that time or not?


I have taken quite a few hours to answer this post. I would hope the time would be put in to see if this view is correct bearing in mind these key verses.

And then in Matt. 24:14 we see a time set in concrete for the second coming! Or do we??? Only if we are 2 Tim. 3:16 & Matt. 4:4 in/lightened ones huh? I say that because of Paul's 'inspirition' in Rom. 11:18.

If Paul had not known that God REQUIRETH past history to be repeated, he & others would have made wholesale shipwreck when Christ had not come, huh? He knew & understood Eccl. 1:9-10 & Eccl. 3:15 to a tee! Even much of his work is understood from this knowledge!

And Matt. 24:34's 'generation'? It will be living [after] a two/time repeat of Matt. 24:14, of the Gospel being taken into ALL the world for a [witness]!

Please show me specifically from the Bible that your timeline is the truth.
 
Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
Mat 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Mat 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Mat 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Mat 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Mat 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
Mat 24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Also read Revelation 19:11-21. This all occurs in the end of days at the last trumpet is sounded.

Jesus Christ gave us the signs that will occur before His coming.

We know His coming is referred as the Day of the LORD; The Day of Christ.

It's my understanding that Jesus is mixing a prophecy about the Romans' invading Palestine to defeat the Jews 40 years after he died along with the time of his second coming in Matthew. Prophecies often have direct and distant fulfillments.

I believe that the Lord will return for us after the seals are opened and before God pours out his wrath. Which in my opinion the trumpet and bowl judgement is the wrath of God, not the seal judgement.

TERRIBLE SCENARIOS FROM NOW ON
Matthew 24:7- For NATION shall rise against NATION,...->
Daniel 11:41:- > ... many countries shall be overthrown (removed/ dissolved?);
And there shall be famines,
and pestilences,
and earthquakes, in divers places.
but all these are the beginning of sorrows-Matthew 24:7-8.
Revelation 6:3-4:

4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

2Peter 3:11-18:

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the Day of GOD (the current seventh and last Day, the Lord's Day, or seventh and last millennium), wherein the heavens (Dispensations of Old Testament and New Testament-Ephesians 1:3-8) being on fire shall be DISSOLVED(Hebrews 8:13 combined with Revelation 11:3) and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

NATION against NATION. "Save itself who it can. Each NATION for himself to subsist.
The scenarios among NATIONS shall be something like popular says: "Save itself who it can. Whoever can save by itself, as best can, save themselve." There will be total and complete enmity between nations, many countries will dissolve-Daniel 11:41).
And what about the people of God? Matthew 24:16-22 combined with Isaiah 26:20-21. Take a look.

Here is what the Lord through Paul teaches us -


For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 1 Thessalonians 4:15


The resurrection and rapture take place at His coming;
The second coming of Christ.


But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. 1 Corinthians 15:20-23
