Is Smoking......."sinning willfully", every time you do it, for all the years you do?
And if a Catholic Priest smokes for 40 years, is he "sinning willfully" for 40 years?
And no, i dont smoke., but i know Priests that do, and other Christians as well.
So, are they all "sinning willfully" when they do it all day, for 30 or 40 years?

Is drinking soda sinning?
They are now saying it does more damage to the body than smoking.
Is drinking sinning?
Is gambling sinning.
Is eating cupcakes and donuts for a fat person sinning?
Where do you stop?

...Somewhere AFTER the soda, the cupcakes, and the donuts. :lol

Dear Brother Kidron, this is such an important question to any wanting to know what the unforgivable or willful sin is. It is willfully not receiving Christ after having partaken of all the testimony, the miracles presented, and knowing Jesus is the only way to our Father. John 14:6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

In effect, after all the Holy Spirit presented to them, they are resolved that His testimony was not true. Mat 12:31. Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

Not receiving Jesus as our Savior is the only unforgivable sin.

Blessings in Christ Jesus

I contest that willful and unforgivable are not the same.
Therefore, the very nice answer you have just given does not apply to both.

Matt.15:11
Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man, but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

Second hand smoke, lol...:biggrin

Philippians 4:5 - Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord [is] at hand. KJV

I think the sin would come when anything, whether it is eating donuts or smoking is done in excess. Although I don't know very many people who smoke in moderation.

My pastor said from the pulpit that no pastor in his church will ever drink alcohol.
He said it with conviction.
That is so anti-biblical.

This I likes!

It's not unBiblical if he requires it so they don't cause anyone to stumble. If so, I agree with him 1000%
I myself will never again be responsible for causing a brother (or sister) to take that first little 'Biblical' sip that caused them to fall headlong into their addiction again. I'm setting a better example and doing that at my own expense as Paul says love is to do for others.

Agreed.
It is in effect calling the Holy Spirit a liar (1 John 5:10 NASB)

10 The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God (the Holy Spirit--see context) has given concerning His Son.

When you know the Holy Spirit is telling the truth and yet you reject it anyway, that is willfully sinning, and is unforgivable.

I think even after salvation in matters of life and death if you willfully reject the truth spoken by the Holy Spirit and do not seek forgiveness or repentance there is no forgiveness provided in all of heaven and earth for doing that, for obvious reasons (you can't have the benefit of a forgiveness you will not seek).
