It's always the devil with you!!

Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
(Mat 16:22-23)

If you notice, Jesus looks at Peter but address the author of the comment that came from Peter's mouth. Devils are everywhere and getting their hands into what we allow them to get their hands into. Peter warned us they go about like a lion look for folks to devour, they take no breaks, they don't sleep. Even simple comments are often from a devil who has planted that suggestion in someone's mind.

It's best to be righteous minded, not devil minded. Focused on the Word, not what a stupid devil is doing.

Mike.

Insight. You're right, He wasn't addressing Peter. There's other instances in scripture where Jesus did the same thing to others...not address the man, but the evil spirit.

We have 3 voices inside of us. Us, the enemy, and God. It would behoove us all to make effort to be able to understand who's speaking in your head at any given time. You can do it. I am learning how. One big red flag is that Gods voice will not ever disagree with scripture. We will and the enemy will.

That scripture does give explanation, but sometimes it is not always comprehended by us, in which case (and all cases) we should look to the Holy Spirit for revelation and answers.

It's all through scripture, let he who lacks in wisdom & understanding ask the Lord who giveth liberally, seek and you will find, lean not upon our own understanding, But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him....and others I'm sure.

Why wouldn't we look to the Holy Spirit for revelation of truth?
Because I'm asking a person what they meant by their statements, and it shouldn't require Scripture. Regardless, simply posting passages from Scripture doesn't actually address anything as it doesn't show if the person even understands what those passages are saying. Christians need to realize this as it is a significant problem.

And you shouldn't even be presuming that you know what was said, never mind that Scripture supports what was said, until iLOVE actually provides an explanation of what they meant.

I was reminded of the scripture that tells us to renew our minds and have the mind of Christ, this might be a way to avoid other voices from overtaking our thoughts, too.

I was able to follow what he said and how the scriptures fit in to it too.
So, do you not believe that a spiritual realm exists?

I don't think it's such a big thing for me to presume that I understand what was said and meant. It's possible that you wasn't following him and what he said, but that doesn't mean that I wasn't or can't. No offense there, sometimes things do need clarification for everyone. Like with twinc's posts for instance, uhh, what? LOL.

And on our Christian forum, I would think that scripture should be used as much as possible, and looking to the Holy Spirit. We're Christians, that's what we do.

Being able to identify them is key here. One pastors sermon that I listened to before said that one way to do it is to, think of a question to ask God during the day, or right before you go to sleep at night. Have a pen and paper handy, and pray and ask the question, then stop and listen for God to give you the answer. Everything that comes to mind, write it down. Perhaps ask another related question, and then write down all you get from that also. Then go to sleep.

When you wake up in the morning, go over the list of things you wrote down. Scratch everything that disagrees with scripture. Study out all vague things until you know if it agrees with scripture or not. Do this every night before you go to sleep for two weeks. Then you'll have a better handle on identifying the voices. It takes discipline to do this though, and not everyone will do it consistently for two weeks.

I'm getting better at it.

My Dear Brother Edward,

Thank you for your gracious words of teaching. You are a Disciple for our Lord Jesus Christ. You have hidden the Word of God in your heart as David. Thank you for your kindness and teaching the Word of God.

I will try it! Thanks.

What kind of forms?

The cute little creatures they sell to your children, ...being an ex-acid freak, I/we have seen and talked to creatures that resemble ET, Pokeman and the plethora of others that were our "spirit guides" on acid, and all of the toy resemblances are to acquaint you and your children to not consider them dangerous, ...don't be fooled, a demon's mission is to convince someone to commit suicide, it that doesn't work then they will convince other humans to kill that person, just read of the accounts of the demon possessed in the New Testament for proof.

Yes, this world is not reality, because one day it will all burn up, and then what is spiritual, which is the real reality, will remain.

I believe that Satan and his demons only want the worse of us and to make sure we do not make it to heaven.

You are correct, now take it to the next step, ....how does he keep humans from going to Heaven, for me my spirit guide took me and my friend to the top of a 4 story building, told us we could fly, just jump off and fly like an eagle, ...I took my friend's arm and we got down from there, ...I didn't commit suicide, so we had killed others in our group (the spirit guides said they were narcs), so they ODed me, while I was dying I heard the most maniacal inhuman laughing, heard them saying I was going to Hell...

Satan tries to keep people far,far away from God.Satan does not like it at all when a person first picks up that Bible. And he might let you know it.

Not sure what you mean by "worse of us". Did you mean "worst for us" in that they would like to destroy every Christian's life and testimony? If so then that is very true, as well as them trying to block sinners from entering into Heaven.

Scripture tells us very clearly that (1) we are surrounded by our spiritual enemies, and (2) we have been provided with all the equipment we need to resist them and oppose them (Eph 6:10-18).

We should never dismiss the possibility that our circumstances are being influenced by Satan and his evil spirits, although God is still sovereign and controls what they can or cannot do. The book of Job should give us sufficient insight into the attacks of the Devil as well as God's purpose for those attacks. Paul was constantly hindered by Satan, and Satan wanted to sift Peter like wheat (destroy his faith) (Lk 22:31).

Yes correct again, but I was raised in a cult, I had never picked up a Bible, ...picking up a Bible is one of the first signs the Holy Spirit is drawing someone to Jesus, the tactic changes, satan sends the cults to knock on that persons door, ...we need not be ignorant of the devices of the devil. 2 Cor 2:11

I recall when Daniel prayed to God and when the angel was bringing God's answer to Daniel, there was a battle in the spiritual realm and the angel was unable to deliver to him for several days. I have always wondered if this continues, I don't see why it wouldn't still be going on?

Yeah, I think it is certainly a reasonable expectation......... even if it might not be the whole three weeks.

The angel was withstood for three weeks until Michael come to help out, then the angel said he would have to return to the fight, so yes there is still war in the spiritual realm.
