It's always the devil with you!!

I think Daddy must get awfully tired of picking me up, and dusting me off when He knows I'll just be right back down in the dirt in a little while.

We cannot see the yet undeveloped picture, so to try and second-guess God by thinking in "what-if's" doesn't seem the way to go. Our praying for....... whatever..... isn't going to be a big deterrent that will fight against the will of God.

What if's are a bad thing for any believer to get involved in. Same as having a plan B just in case God drops the ball.

But read carefully Daniel 10, Daniel didn't know there was a battle in Heaven until the angel told him of it, ...Jesus gives us a model prayer Matt 6:9-13 and He doesn't instruct us to pray against demons, in the Daniel 10 story God knew how long to allow the demon to resist the angel to accomplish the prayer he wanted Daniel to pray, it was God who decided when to send Michael to help, when we take it upon ourselves to decide when a demon should be stopped we are stepping into the realm of God and that is the lie from the Garden, ...you will be like God, that is eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, we are deciding what is good and what is evil and look at the catastrophic results that brought about.

We have to be careful of just assuming things in scriptures. God is not mentioned one time, either is a war in Heaven mentioned. The prince of Persia (Ruling authority) contested the right of Danial getting the message on earth. The Messenger stood with the King of Persia (Ruling authority) for 21 days until Michael shows up (The only other one given the message) Dan 10:21

Up until Jesus stripped the devil of all his authority, As the reason Jesus came, God's Angels did not go and mess with strongholds the devils had set up. Remember the devil throwing a fit over Moses Body, and where it was suppose to end up? Michael was very respectful in handling that situation.

As for taking it upon ourselves to stop a devil, you have to clarify that statement. Paul waited 3 days before casting out the devil from the possessed women following him saying this is the man of the most high God. I suspect He waited on direction from the Holy Spirit before acting, and hence put up with the women for a bit.

I agree about assuming, but who's assuming? the verse tell us the angel was sent and that means there was a sender and the person who sent the angel heard the prayer of Daniel and the angel tells that person was God.

And he said to me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright. For to you I am now sent. And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood trembling. Then he said to me, Do not fear, Daniel; for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and to chasten yourself before your God, your words were heard. And I have come for your words. Dan 10:11, 12

Who was this talking about?

And Elisha prayed and said, I pray You, Jehovah, open his eyes so that he may see. And Jehovah opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. 2 Ki 6:17

And yes, Michael was very respectful to the devil, but we have to remember that was chronologically before the Cross, but Paul tells us,

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Col 2:15

It's a whole different ball game now.

Brother, I think you have misunderstood what I have said, I never said we were to take on a demon, I hold firmly to and practice keeping Jesus between them and me, "the Lord rebuke you," is what I always use when necessary.

pentacostals and some Baptists teach the spiritual realm is higher then the physical. the bible doesn't say much on that , only that both exist. we are both spiritual and physical beings does that make us beneath angels? they minister unto us. I do think at times the spiritual things are stronger then natural but adam in his sinless creation was mightier then devil as the devil was fallen and adam wasn't.

Ah, It was a bit unclear. Michael was commissioned by the comment of the Angel to get this message to Danial. Scripture does not say God sent Michael, he already had the comission, and scripture does not say there was some battle. The messenger stayed with the devils in charge at Persia, I suppose presenting his case to have a right to speak with Danial.

The ballgame has changed though, your right. Jesus stripped the devil of his authoritative power. He aint so bad like He use to be, still a rat though.

As for Rebuking the devil, your not a angel, your above the angels. They are created servant class, your created in God's class as a child like your Father. Jesus gave you authority over serpents and scorpions. So, asking the Lord to do something that you were told to do does not work out so well. Jesus said what we bind on earth..... WE, is bound in heaven. I assume He meant the spiritual authorities in the air Paul spoke about. What we say is enforced on our behalf for the controlling powers above.

If the angels of God were sent to be our servants (Same word that was translated minister) then how much more are the devils under your feet as a child of the most high. Tell them directly like it's suppose to be.

Blessings.

For myself, personally, before I came here, the Lord gave me Psalm 91 as a life verse, ...demonic activity is very open and in plan view here, nothing like I saw back in the States, I prefer to be a child, like Jesus instructed me, and allow Him to deliver me from the situations that come into my life like He promised me in Psalms 91, He has never failed me and later on I learn the person that came against me, in/with demonic power, is severely sick or even dead, and in that way I have tread upon them and trampled them under my feet.

In so doing it this way, allowing the Lord to rebuke them, those that are watching know it is Jesus that is protecting me and all of the glory goes to Him, ...there are lots of so called Christians here that try to cast out demons, preform miracles and heal the sick, all in the name of Jesus, ...and they glory in themselves and their followers are just as lost as they are.

One time I had a witch come to my shop and try to cast a spell on me, when the Holy Spirit warned me what was happening I merely looked at her and said, "The Lord rebuke you!" she had leaned out of the car window, waving her arms in the air with her magic plants in her hand, pronouncing a curse at me, when I said those Words, her whole attitude changed, she sunk down in the seat and told the driver to get here out of here as quick as possible, ...there were many that were watching from the shadows that heard what I had said, ...Jesus (and not me) received the glory He so rightly deserves.

Another time was at night and a witch came to our house, we were in bed, I woke up to a voice chanting in Tahitian, my wife next to me said it was a curse, again I simple said, "The Lord rebuke you!" the chanting abruptly stopped, we live on a hill with a black top road full of pot holes leading to it from the principle road, next thing we heard two people running away from the house as fast as they could, then they fell down and we heard them screaming in pain, probably from the cuts and scrapes the had, ...we fell asleep laughing.

Those are just two examples I have presented, for the past 23 years it has worked perfectly every time, ...I don't see any need to change now, what could possibly be simpler and work more effective?

Heb 4:12, 13

I understand, if it's not broke, why fix it. The Lord is good though. And is always showing and expounding to us a better way. We are given the authority in the name of Jesus, we adjure you in the name of Jesus Paul preached, may not always work so well. Something to consider as I have also operated the way I am saying. It's just a higher level of understanding of who you are and whose you are. Just consider..

That makes me laugh, sorry brother, no ridicule intended, you're called to what the Lord has called you and the same with me, ...but the higher I attain to understanding the Lord the more I realize I don't really know anything and more important, what a undeserving sinner I am, ...saved by His wonderful grace, many times I'm totally blown away and bamboozled, and just fall on my face and say thank you, ...thank you, ...thank you!

Lord bless

There is no such thing as random. God is in total control. Were you exalting yourself that day? Did he abase you and knock you out of your chair? Its all for love. God leads all to a higher good though they might not see it in the present.

...
If you happen to find it, I would love to listen to it. There seems to be a trend with the "renewing of your mind" - over here anyway.

I found it! Actually, I did find it about a week ago, but couldn't remember which thread that you asked about this in...until I just ran across this accidentally. So here you are brother...You asked for it...!!!! :lol

The Series is called "Transformed" by brother Keith Moore of Faith Life Church in Branson MO. (Hello, Brother Mike!!)
