Jesus was talking to His FatherThe problem with this post is that Jesus is talking to someone else. If that someone else is God, then how is Jesus?
Exactly. He wasn't talking to Himself.Jesus was talking to His Father
Butch5, Have you been following this thread? with each scripture?Exactly. He wasn't talking to Himself.
No, I replied to the op.Butch5, Have you been following this thread? with each scripture?
Walter
Ok, Years ago someone told me that same thing that Jesus is GOD and I had not search the scriptures then. No, I replied to the op.
I've searched the Scriptures. I've also studied church history. The Trinity concept that is espoused today comes from the 5th century, not the Bible. The idea that there is one God who consists of three persons first appears around 450 AD. In the Athanasian CreedOk, Years ago someone told me that same thing that Jesus is GOD and I had not search the scriptures then.
Good, recently a few years, while in the study with certain scriptures like Matthew 16:13-17.I've searched the Scriptures. I've also studied church history. I'm not sure where you're going.Good, recently a few years, while in the study with certain scriptures like Matthew 16:13-17.
Did you read or open the link?I'm not sure where you're going.
I read the Scripture link.Did you read or open the link?
Ok, After Peter said: Thou art the Christ, The Son Of The Living God, then Jesus said:I read the Scripture link.
He is the Son of God. He's not the Son of Himself.Ok, After Peter said: Thou art the Christ, The Son Of The Living God, then Jesus said:
Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
This tell me that Jesus Is The Son Of God, a revelation from the Father.
ExactlyHe is the Son of God. He's not the Son of Himself.
Exactly
He is the Son of God. He's not the Son of Himself.
So then what is Jesus? No one is saying that Jesus is God the Father.
Jesus is the only begotten Son of the Father.
If kind begets after it’s own kind, what does that make Jesus?
God
Man
Other
Does God the Father beget something other than God?

So then what is Jesus?
You may find at this link some extra biblical references cited as far back as 200 A.D. regarding the three are one. This site proved that 1 John 5:7 in the KJV regarding the 3 Witnesses in Heaven was originally scripture.I've searched the Scriptures. I've also studied church history. The Trinity concept that is espoused today comes from the 5th century, not the Bible. The idea that there is one God who consists of three persons first appears around 450 AD. In the Athanasian Creed

398 AD | Aurelius Augustine used it to defend Trinitarianism in De Trinitate against the heresy of Sabellianism |
415 AD | Council of Carthage appealed to 1 John 5:7 when debating the Arian belief (Arians didn't believe in the deity of Jesus Christ) |

These writers are: A) Vigilius Tapensis in "Three Witnesses in Heaven" B) Victor Vitensis in his Historia persecutionis [Corpus Scriptorum Ecclesiasticorum Latinorum, Academia Litterarum Vindobonensis, vol. vii, p. 60.] C) Fulgentius in "The Three Heavenly Witnesses" [Patrilogiae Cursus Completus, Series Latina by Migne, vol. 65, col. 500.] |
