ALAHA - MESHIKHA - PHILIPPIANS

- Like with Ephesians and 1 Corinthians, in Philippians Meshikha is everywhere!

- In Galatians, Alaha (7) and Meshikha (8) are equally present!

- in 2 Corinthians, Alaha is ahead!

- But in any case, we must not forget that Meshikha means the anointed one or the chosen one!

- And like King Saul and King David, he was chosen by God!

Remember:

  • It is likely that Matthew (meaning “gift of God”) was the name Jesus gave to Levi after his conversion!
  • Matthew was a tax collector!
  • He was also called Levi!
  • He was rich as a consequence!
  • Jesus had dinner at Matthew’s house with many other tax collectors and sinners!
  • Jesus explained that he had come to save sinners!
  • Matthew didn’t hesitate to leave his wealth and security!

Jesus vs the religious leaders
Matthew 7: When Jesus finishes these sayings, the effect is that the crowds are astounded at his way of teaching, for he is teaching them as a person having authority, and not as their scribes.

- Imagine you were there listening to Jesus!

- Knowledge vs Ignorance!

- Teaching them as a person having authority!

- Does it speak to you!

- It reminds me of Luke chapter 2 where it tells about Jesus being 12 and his parents find him in the Temple!

- And the teachers were surprised by his understanding and his questions!

- But above all he was surprised by his parents looking for him because it was normal for him to be in the House of His Father!

- When we think about Samuel, he was raised in the House of Yah.weh when he was a child!

- Yah.weh started to speak to him at this time!

- And Samuel thought Eli was speaking to him!

- We are told about Jesus being 12 who has a discussion with teachers in the House of His Father!

- These teachers can’t believe their ears when they hear Jesus speaking and asking questions!

- But it is nothing compared to what he says to his parents about being in the House of His Father!

- And Jesus is only 12!

- But his training is not complete for him to become a Teacher and start his ministry in Israel!

- He will have to wait till the age of 30!

- Thus 18 years later!

Jesus vs the religious leaders

Matthew 8: A scribe wants to follow Jesus wherever he goes but Jesus warns him the Son of man has nowhere to lay down his head.

- Apparently this one wants to follow Jesus but he is used to a certain standard of living and it doesn’t work with Jesus.

- Jesus knows what we think when we think!

- He follows his Father’s interests not his, that’s why he is going to build a world for us not destroy the Earth and there will be no seats for those who are destroying it: remember the Israelites: they didn’t get into the promised land, they stayed at the door!

- Jesus is coming back and he will establish Yah.weh’s kingdom!

- Are we ready to follow him and obey him to help him establish his father’s kingdom?

- It means being active now and forever!

- It’s not possible to be lazzy!

- If we are lazy now, the door will be locked!

Jesus vs the religious leaders

Matthew 9:

- Jesus forgives the paralytic's sins!

- The scribes think Jesus blasphemes!

- Knowing what they think, he cures the paralytic to show them he can also forgive people’s sins!

- And the crowds are struck with fear and they glorify God!

- Religious leaders = superficial? Liars? They have seen or heard about Jesus’ miracles and they know what he does and who he is!

- They have no excuse!

- Or maybe they are blind!

- But Jesus did so many miracles that they are fakes!

- You see the same people today who are also fakes!

- They spend their time saying lies!

- They stink of lies!

- And many people keep believing in them because they have the same mentality!

- They have all the same father, the father of lies!

- And of course, they have no shame!

- As usual they will pay the consequences!

Jesus vs the religious leaders

Matthew 9:

The Pharisees don’t understand why Jesus eats with tax collectors and sinners!

- Apparently they can’t understand he has come to help sinners to recover!

- Really strange people!

- The question is: what are they good for? Nothing!

- They are only leeches!- They don’t help anybody!

- On the contrary!

- Jesus wants people to listen carefully to his message and be saved, religious leaders do business and want people to listen to them to serve their own interests and go to destruction exactly as it happened each time when Jerusalem was destroyed!

- Jesus did his part of the job, we have to do our own part!

- We can’t stay passive!

- We can’t let others do our job!

- We must study the Bible carefully!

- Studying the Bible doesn’t mean study only one part!

- There are two parts and both are essential!

- People often make affirmations without knowing what the Bible says!

- Yah.weh is a God of precision!

- As a consequence, we must also look for precision!

- It is not usually the case!

- Thus if we don’t take Yah.weh seriously, how do you want him to take us seriously?

- The Hebrews didn’t take Yah.weh seriously so they lost everything!

- Mankind has followed the same way and has lost everything!
