My friend said I should look into this so here I am lol

You're being intellectually dishonest and you have forgotten God made the 7th Day Holy in Genesis 2:3.

Im being true to the scriptures and what it actually says.

The “Sabbath” was introduced to the children of Israel through Moses.

It was an ordinance that required that they one who so much as gathered sticks to kindle a fire to cook, were put to death.

Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Exodus 31:15

Do you see this commandment to put to death a Sabbath violater, listed before Moses gave it to the children of Israel?

Do you see this commandment to put to death the Sabbath violater, in the New Testament?

The Sabbath was simply made for man to rest a day during the week.

The weekly Sabbath points to the rest to come at the end of the age when the Lord returns.

Genesis 26:5....
Thank you for your very good sincere answer Eltegay, although I do not believe that Abraham was given the law/command for a Sabbath, I fully understand why you would think so, for a couple of reasons. One thing is certain, Abraham did obey God in all that He commanded him.

Here's a good Scripture for you...Matthew 7:21-23...Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kindom of God; but he who does the will of My Father which is in heaven. MANY will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not spoken under inspiration in your name, haven't we cast out demons in your Name, and done many marvelous works in your Name ? And then I will profess unto them, I never you, depart from Me you anomians. Wonder what anomian means ?

The True Covenant is stated in Jeremiah 7:21-23...v23.But this thing I commanded them, saying Obey My Voice and I will be your Elohiym and you shall be My people; walk in all the ways I command you, that it maybe well with you.
The strict compliance of keep the Sabbath and all the Sacrifices was the law of Moses after Yashar'el had broke Covenant with Yahuah Tsevaoth. Not before.

Long sabbath, that was God's sabbath Eltegay, which we are still in by the way. You didn't answer me anyway, why do you violate it every week sir?

Really, Highway54, we are not in the Sabbath rest that you call the long Sabbath, the Sabbath rest is the thousand year reign of Yahusha Ha'Masheiah.

I keep the Sabbath every week unlike you. I bet you're a flat earther? Say it ain't true.

You have a pretty good point.

Could I reword your statement slightly?
We can be in if we enter into the rest Jesus work created on the cross.

Hebrews 4:10 kjv
10. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Jesus created eternal life for us.

Jesus said it is finished. His work was done.

We can rest in his rest, created by his work accomplishment.

Not so much a day of the week.

Hebrew 4:8...For if Yahusha the son of Nun had given them rest, the KJV is translated incorrectly....The RSV has it correct as Joshua, there is still a Sabbath rest just as Hebrews 4:9 tells us.

You guys need to take off your Greco-Roman glasses you read Scripture with and learn to read with a Hebrew mindset, especially when reading the letter addressed to Hebrews.

While you may not believe we are still in it, Paul indicated we were still in it during his day:
(Hebrews 4:3-5) . . .For we who have exercised faith do enter into the rest, just as he has said: “So I swore in my anger, ‘They will not enter into my rest,’” although his works were finished from the founding of the world. 4 For in one place he has said of the seventh day as follows: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works,” 5 and here again he says: “They will not enter into my rest.”

I do think we agree however that it will end when the thousand yr reign of Jesus is complete.

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 5:3

The biblical definition of love is keeping, which is to say, obeying His commandments. Notice it says His commandments are not burdensome. If we have a problem with say, not stealing from our neighbor or not committing adultery with our neighbors wife, we have a hate problem. If we steal from our neighbor we are not loving him but hating him.

He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

We can not say we ”know Him”, which means “we have eternal life”, if we do not obey Him; if we do not keep His commandments.

If we have other gods that we serve, then we don’t love God with all our heart, and all our soul. If we carve out an image of say Mary, or other saints that we esteem and pray to them or God forbide, we bow down and worship them, then we are not loving God. If we do these things, and say we “know Him” we are a liar.

However, when it comes to the Sabbath, and keeping the Sabbath, this is something different. When we study about what the New Testament has to say about the Sabbath and the law of Moses, we discover that the specific instructions for observing the Sabbath was given to the children of Israel under Moses, as long as the law of Moses was in effect.

Here are the instructions concerning the Sabbath as ordained through Moses.

You shall keep the Sabbath, therefore, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.’ ” Exodus 31:14-17

again

Now while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day. And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation. They put him under guard, because it had not been explained what should be done to him.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “The man must surely be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.” So, as the LORD commanded Moses, all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him with stones, and he died.
Numbers 15:32-36

So, can you give us specific instructions as to how the Church is to observe the Sabbath under the New Covenant?

When does the Sabbath officially start for the Church?
Can we travel on the Sabbath?
Can we cook on the Sabbath?
When does the Sabbath officially end; what time?
Is it ok for ministers to work on the Sabbath?

How does Jesus have rest? How do we enter his rest?

eddif
Great question Ed. God is resting from creating things, Entering into His rest however is a different story. Paul explains it to a great degree here Ed: (Hebrews 3:15-4:3) 15 As it is said, “Today if you listen to his voice, do not harden your hearts as on the occasion of provoking to bitter anger.” 16 For who heard and yet provoked him to bitter anger? Was it not, in fact, all those who went out of Egypt under Moses? 17 Moreover, with whom did God become disgusted for 40 years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did he swear that they would not enter into his rest? Was it not to those who acted disobediently? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of lack of faith. 4 Therefore, since a promise of entering into his rest remains, let us be on guard for fear someone among you seems to fall short of it. 2 For we have also had the good news declared to us, just as they had; but the word that they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened. 3 For we who have exercised faith do enter into the rest. . .For the man who has entered into God’s rest has also rested from his own works, just as God did from his own. 11 Let us therefore do our utmost to enter into that rest, so that no one may fall into the same pattern of disobedience.

This is going to be very vague sir, but it means observing God's commandments. The first step is to take in knowledge of God and Jesus Jn 17:3 so that you come to know them and what they require.

So.
You pretty much covered the rest of the Father (IMHO). I realize the physical aspect of creation and the spiritual pre begotten son (Jesus) Being Involved in creation.

On the cross Jesus said it is finished. Not was. Not will be. The work of Jesus taking care of making salvation possible was finished. Jesus the man could rest. The spiritual man was still active (see below). Our sins were in the body of Jesus.
1 Peter 2:24

Psalms 121:4 kjv
4. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

It would appear rest is what God Does IMHO. This is where God is not us. We sleep and slumber. Similar yes. The exact same maybe not.

We enter into the rest of Jesus. Sins are dealt with. We are buried with him.

In the flood it was a boat.
Jonah was in a great fish
We are in Christ

Do I totally get this? I still have on my dark sunshades.

Do you? I know of no one who has not violated it. What do you do to keep the Sabbath sir?

It's not surprising that you know no one who can keep the Sabbath, considering you dont....the Sabbath starts at sundown Friday and ends sundown Saturday evening.... Praise, Worship, reading, meditation, repeat...what is hard about that ?

We saw that take place in Acts 2:4-13...some heard in their own tongues and believed, just as Paul teaches in 1 Corinthians 14 and some religious people didn't hear and thought they were drunk....much like on these forums!

So, are the 10 Devariym/Commandments still ineffect ?

Not the Sabbath ordinance.

Does your church put people to death for picking up sticks to make a fire in rider to cook on the Sabbath?

So, are the 10 Devariym/Commandments still ineffect ?

Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
Romans 13:8-10

Is there anywhere in the New Testament where Jesus or His Apostles condemned any for not observing the Sabbath?
