On why being a good person is not enough

Sinner=slave to Satan yes we are no longer Satan's slave, we are however living in bodies and with minds corrupted by sin, Jesus has forgiven us, washed us etc, we are being remade but that is a process that will be imported only when we are in heaven.
Untill then, no temptation has ceased you except that which is common to man and when you are tempted the Lord will always supply away out. 1 for 10:13 miss quoted, but two things about it, if God provides a way of baring up under temptation, it follows we can and will fall.
Secondly that way out only works if we are prepared to resist temptation.

If we are honest we all rarely resist every temptation, we all fall into sin at some point.

That's exactly what I think. Thanks for saying it.
Living life without sin is not automatically done when we are born again. We are tho automatically forgiven because of Christ who has taken our sins away.
But I might believe that it is possible to get there. Even in this life.
It is a process to get to that place.. and thank God we will eventually get there.

If the blood of Christ can cleanse us of all sin...why can't we cay we have no sin?

Our body contains sin.

We are in a constant battle with it.

When we confess our sin, we are cleansed of all sin and unrighteousness.

If I can influences anyone to believe that God has the power to keep men free from sin, my life will not be in vain.

God certainly has the power to keep men free from sin.

It‘s called the Holy Spirit. The more we mature, the better we become at walking according to the Spirit.

This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:17-24

  • be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

I have found that I must develop consistency in my private devotion to Him, in order to be consistent at walking in the true righteousness of the new man.

By private devotion I mean my time dedicated to seeking Him In prayer and worship privately at home. Praying in the Spirit, and reading His word; setting my mind upon Him. Keeping my mind stayed upon Him.

I found that I can not expect to walk in the Spirit, if my time is filled with the distractions of this world.

Sowing to the Spirit, investing my time doing the things that the Spirit desires for me to do, is what I have found is the key to walking in the righteousness of the new man.

This is true. The Bible teaches that our spirit is in constant conflict with the flesh.
But also that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit.
We are told to keep the body under subjection.
In other words we are masters of our own souls and bodies.
We can control them!

Those who understand how important that is and learn how to do it.
They will not be bound by anything at all.
Listen!

As a new creature, I, personally, have a new mind.
As my vessel cannot force me to sin, and is subject to my new mind, I will not serve sin anymore.
And it wasn't a process, but a miracle from God.

You should reread the verse, and realize that the escapes God provides truly work and do allow us to resist the temptations.
You see imminent sin while I see a defense from sin.
Secondly that way out only works if we are prepared to resist temptation.

If we are honest we all rarely resist every temptation, we all fall into sin at some point.
Speak for yourself.
The seed of God can't bring forth liars, adulterers, or thieves.
Christians are reborn of that seed, having killed the old man.
PS...Is there any way you can get rid of that vertical line on the left side of your posts?

Amen. Glad that God has set you free.

November 2, 2008.
My last sin was a robbery, the first on the job in 40 years of my chosen profession as a mechanic.
It hurt me so much that I never hurt anyone again.
