Only ONE TRUE GOD.

This is what I deduced from your words: God is still talking to people as in the days of old regardless of tongue, race, etc.

This is what I added: However, what we need to be careful about is saying that unless you have a personal visitation of God, in the manner that some in the days of old did, you are not God’s child. This is plainly not the case.
Add whatever you wish to but one thing is certain, THE LORD GOD JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONE DOING THE TEACHING TO ALL SO THAT NO ONE MAYBE LED ASTRAY OF THE WAY OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

So how is that you have been led to believe that scripture is flawed?

Hi Potluck

No offense intended and no offense taken. I'm sorry if you felt my comment was directed at you.

It was intended for MEC and being the good natured fellow that he is, we often give and get the occasional jibe in the spirit of goodwill without any offense. That's one of the things I love about the guy. It's just that on this ocassion I cannot say 'AMEN' to what he has said until I understand more precisely his thoughts concerning 'creation'.

Thanks for posting though. I appreciate the fact that you do have enthusiasm for scripture. I can say AMEN to that too!

I thought I saw a thread on birds of a feather

I've accepted his explanation, accepted the fact I may have erred or at least misunderstood. I have no problem with that.
I dropped it. He forgave me and I him. It's over. Kaput.
With all due respect I don't see how your reply helps anything.
Unless of course I too am a feather of a bird or somethng. :-D

To Believe
19–20 Later on that day, the disciples had gathered together, but, fearful of the Jews, had locked all the doors in the house. Jesus entered, stood among them, and said, “Peace to you.†Then he showed them his hands and side.
20–21 The disciples, seeing the Master with their own eyes, were exuberant. Jesus repeated his greeting: “Peace to you. Just as the Father sent me, I send you.â€Â
22–23 Then he took a deep breath and breathed into them. “Receive the Holy Spirit,†he said. “If you forgive someone’s sins, they’re gone for good. If you don’t forgive sins, what are you going to do with them?â€Â
24–25 But Thomas, sometimes called the Twin, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples told him, “We saw the Master.â€Â
But he said, “Unless I see the nail holes in his hands, put my finger in the nail holes, and stick my hand in his side, I won’t believe it.â€Â
26 Eight days later, his disciples were again in the room. This time Thomas was with them. Jesus came through the locked doors, stood among them, and said, “Peace to you.â€Â
27 Then he focused his attention on Thomas. “Take your finger and examine my hands. Take your hand and stick it in my side. Don’t be unbelieving. Believe.â€Â
28 Thomas said, “My Master! My God!â€Â
29 Jesus said, “So, you believe because you’ve seen with your own eyes. Even better blessings are in store for those who believe without seeing.â€Â
30–31 Jesus provided far more God-revealing signs than are written down in this book. These are written down so you will believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and in the act of believing, have real and eternal life in the way he personally revealed it.

Oscar - may I ask what version you are taking this from?

It is impossiable the Divine Essence to begot another Divine Essence (a seconding person) equal to itself. Divine Essence is what God. To have another person with the Divine Essence is false.

Is there a God besides Me? and a Rock? I know not any (Isaiah 44:8).

I am Jehovah and there is none else there is no God besides Me that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is no God besides Me: I am Jehovah and there is none else (Isaiah 45:5-6).

Thus spoke Jehovah, your Redeemer; I am Jehovah who created all things, and I alone by Myself. Isaiah 44:24.

God meant plainly that there is no other God but Him. This same God became Man, as in John 1:3.

I'm bound to believe God rather than men. God said to us that indeed the scripture is flawed, need I say more my belief about the scripture this time?

Yes I recall you listing a number of things which you disagreed on in scripture. Some of them, from my perspective, were not correcting or changing scripture as such, but providing an explanation of what the scripture is actually saying. Now that is one thing that I have no problem with because as you have said I am also bound to believe God rather than men. The Lord has shown me the meaning of certain passages which differ to the meaning taught by others.

BUT - What I cannot agree with is the notion that scripture is wrong. So in essence we have no common ground on these three major points.
1. I say salvation is of God and of his initiative. You say the initiative is man's.
2. I say that I am born of the Spirit of God. You don't seem even to comprehend what this means.
3. I say that scripture is written by men & women inspired by the spirit of God. You say there are errors in it.

... and scripture says:

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The Word of God is HIS written word to us.

Mutz, nice try... it's basically what everyone also has been 'saying' to her. I'm at a loos for words; what are we saying that is wrong? ;-)

Actually, I do not say that the bible is wrong. I may have overlook the word "flawed" and I beg for an apology. What I do believe that God tells us is this, "in the bible many are erratic and are not included" and also, "what I did commanded them to write down was only a thin book but why is it that the bible today is thick", and these are the exact words of the Lord.

[quote:e6c64]So in essence we have no common ground on these three major points.
1. I say salvation is of God and of his initiative. You say the initiative is man's.
God is the rewarder of salvation and eternal life but for us to be rewarded with such, the initiative to seek God and our own salvation must come from us wholeheartedly, a direct teaching that we receive from Jesus Chrsit, the ONLY ONE TRUE GOD of all.

2. I say that I am born of the Spirit of God. You don't seem even to comprehend what this means.
I'm sorry but I do tell you the truth that I am in limbo with your notion of being born of God. With what we have learned from God, being born of God is none other than having your spirit being reborn in heaven and this is exactly when you have literally found and encountered your own salvation - the Lord God Jesus Christ - and placed yourself under the direct tutelage of the Lord.

3. I say that scripture is written by men & women inspired by the spirit of God.
I do agree with this one if we will be referring to the authentic and original writings of those who were originally commanded to by the Lord.

You say there are errors in it.
[/quote:e6c64]
That's what the Lord teaches even at this time and He stands pat on that teaching. The Lord further said that even those who were originally commanded by Him to write the scriptures were not able to take in to their hearts some of His teachings and therefore even the original writings were tainted with errors, additives and deductives. Not because they were inspired by God or inspired by the HS they were not bound to commit errors or mistakes, free will was still within their heart hence this erratic scriptures with additives and deductives resulted.

By the way, I'm about to view the article that you sent me via my email add, thanks and good day to you.

The Master, The Lord Jesus Christ declares, “I’m A to Z. I’m The God Who Is, The God Who Was, and The God About to Arrive. I’m the Sovereign-Strong.â€Â

Neglecting God's existence and/or removing God out of the scenario in lieu of the bible. Worst of all, putting God in a box.

The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. He never said he was going to send a book, but his Holy Spirit to be with us and in us. Do you just want a god you can hold in your hands? :-?

Another statement that many could take as moronic, but in the light of Christian love, let me ask you this question?

How many times does the scripture designate as God having written, or Holy men of God being inspired to write truth in a book?

Another statement that many could take as moronic, but in the light of Christian love, let me ask you this question?

How many times does the scripture designate as God having written, or Holy men of God being inspired to write truth in a book?

We can count them if you’d like. When did the word become flesh and dwell among us, Solo? Before Jesus came in the flesh, man was given the written word through prophets. So just drop all those references that are about Old testament scriptures. Of the remaining few, you will see most are about another kind of writing, not in pen and ink or a book called a Bible. Too bad you didn‘t take time to read your word search list. These actually refer to actual communications of a living God, not a written book to worship:

Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

Many are written, but few are read. The rest have little or nothing to do with the Bible:

Revelation 2:17
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

Revelation 5:1
And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

Revelation 13:8
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Revelation 14:1
And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.

Revelation 14:1
And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.

Revelation 17:5
And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Revelation 19:12
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

Revelation 19:16
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Revelation 20:12
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Revelation 20:15
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:12
And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

Revelation 21:27
And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Revelation 22:18
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

Nice big long impressive list but as usual, missing the mark. Less is more.

The mystery remains as to why you find Scorpia’s posts offensive. I thought God was alive and well and living in your hearts…

Romans 2:15
Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

1 Corinthians 1:31
That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. (Not the written word but the Living Word.)

I find scorpia and you offensive because of your false teachings and lies of satan coming forth from you both. Other than that, you are probably swell folks. You do not understand being born again, so you aren't.

The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. He never said he was going to send a book, but his Holy Spirit to be with us and in us. Do you just want a god you can hold in your hands? :-?

And neither is the Word of God just written in the pages of a book as some seem intent on confining it to. The word of God is alive and powerful . . . and dwells within me.

Only Jesus, the One True God, can say who is the real born of God from among us?
