Thess, I don't know anything about Catholicism.
We can never tell if people who claim to be His followers by their words or knowledge of the Bible.
Fortunately, the Bible gives us way to discern who we should trust or associate with; by their fruit.
I hope you start take look very closely what the Catholics has done.
BTW, I dont see much of godly lives in cacholics in general even now. This observation comes from 30 years of experience.
