With a well-defined company policy posted and/or an agreement requiring signature that protects the company's right to refuse any design or body location, then a Christian woman should be fine in owning and directing her own tatt parlour. ..

Well, yes, I agree that it's really fine that Christian women choose to have it done.

And really fine that some Christian women choose to provide the service with their tattoo and business skills.

On another thread, it has been discussed how someone came to know the Lord at a Christian rock concert. I was just thinking that tattoos are part of the rock concert scene, and it's not a question of whether they are good or bad, (though presumably if they are faith based and point people to the Lord there is something good about them), but they are in a sense kind of inevitable, at least for some ppl. Two cents'.

..That being said I do want to get a faith based tattoo. A simple, modest tattoo for myself. Farouk has pointed out many times already that a faith based tattoo has a different meaning behind it than getting a tattoo just for show. Understanding the difference between motives is crucial here I think.

I dont think its about the church changing to fit the times. It's about the church being christ like and accepting everyone regardless.

No I really do not want her to go with me, I don't want her to get over her nervousness (she's only 11), I do NOT want her to get any tattoos. However, since I have one that needs touched up, this would be the ONLY reason I go back (touch it up). Other then that I'm not happy with anything new on my body, and especially on my daughter.. I have no regrets of getting my tatts, but if I could go back and do it all over again. I wouldn't go through with it!

@Kaileymarie : What I wanted to say also was that it's obviously a very personal thing for the individual concerned and, for example, @Atonement , who seems to try to be a spiritually minded person, can say this about his (although he might have done things differently):

If and when you do it, no one else should make you wish to regret it as a Christian woman with tattoos who wants to do it again. I agree; there is plenty of scope for a suitably placed 'simple modest tattoo' that is also faith based in design.

Yes, while there is no need for a woman - or man - necessarily to get involved at all, yet for those who do wish to, it's a question of knowing they can have the confidence to go ahead and do it.

It's very clear that tattoo equality for women is firmly established.

I am kind of old fashion in some ways I guess. I don't look down on women who get tattoos or judge them to be a certain way because of that. But....
I just don't like seeing them on women. Maybe I'm just too old. Guys get tattoos, girls wear nail polish. But that's just me.

Like you say, women as well; the fact is that it's precisely with a view to being God honoring in witness that many Christians do go under the needle for faith based designs that, moreover, are proven conversation-starters.

It's not for everyone, though.
