Greetings to you Farouk

Yes I agree that you get what you pay for.

If Christians are investing in a tattoo design, to them they should believe it's money well spent (at least I would hope so). Unless, later they become convicted and want to remove it, if that happens, then it's money wasted. :shrug
@Atonement :

Well, I guess that a lot of Christians are effectively saying that a quality faith based tattoo design is indeed money well spent...

(In a tattoo protection prodct promotion video I mentioned, above, to @forgiven , the manufacturer even shows a tattoo with a citation from Romans 8! :) I haven't pasted the actual link on here, though. But very interesting, right? )

I reckon it's become widely recognized in the industry just how sought after quality Christian and Bible verse designs are, to Christians.

Blessings.

Seems also like Bible verses, like Bible names for kids, are very much a family thing for some Christians:

Claire said:
I have both of my boys names, one on each wrist. The 'o' in Noah is a heart that is coloured and the dot over the 'I' in Elijah is also a coloured in heart. I have my hubby's name on the back of my neck with a heart over the top.
I have recently had a big piece ..It's of some cherry blossoms and vine with some buds and leaves. Resting on the leaves are the nine fruits of the spirit from the bible; love joy peace patience goodness kindness gentleness self control and faithfulness. ..The fruits of the spirit are something that I strive to have everyday. It hurt .. but it was worth it. Its such a pretty piece. (source: circleofmoms.com)

PS:

I love my tatts, they both mean something.. I have my daughters name also on my left arm ..
Atonement: Yes, people do get deeply attached to their tattoos, right?

And I reckon your daughter feels a bit kind of flattered that she is part of it.

Blessings.

I did lol but again I can't speak for everyone, like I said my cousin is in the business of covering a lot of them up, so my best guess assumption is that not everyone gets attached to their tattoos but rather has regrets.

My daughter does like it, she told me that it was a reminder so that I would never forget her haha!.. This was coming from a seven year though.

@Atonement : Yes, well, whether it's love for family members or love for the Lord in witness tattoo designs, they can be a very striking and heart-warming means of expression, I guess. (And many Christians think so, too; for example, like @handy indicated a while back, many from her local church have had it done.)

Yes, you say your daughter told you she did like it; this must have been a few years ago now, but I'm sure she would still like it. (It often proves to be a family thing, so don't be surprised if eventually the rôles are reciprocated; but this is entirely for her to decide when she's 18 - at least, in many states/ provinces - though she might not tell you of any plans just yet.)

Hope it goes well for you at your cousin's place in the summer, anyhow.

Blessings.

I just hav to say i love my tattoos lol i hav a friend klee who owns a Christian tattoo shoppe here where i live called prophetic ink and it is an awesome ministry especially to ppl who dont know its a Christian place wen they walk in...i think tattoos are art and that as long as we are not putting them in personal places its ok but i think woman or man its ok to get ink...n as far as other tattoo shoppes they can turn down a tattoo if they r not comfortable doing it just like piercings....but alot of places unfortunately are alot ab the $$$ and not wats ok n wats not....

@KayGraham1611 :

Hi Kay, thanks a lot for your post and it's interesting to have gotten input from you as a tattooed Christian woman.

From the equality point of view, where you say: 'I think woman or man its ok to get ink', I guess you would also agree with what @for_his_glory said in her post, quoted above:
The gender aspect should be the same for a women or a man, but since you did say a women then I would have no problem with that of a women owning her own parlor..

Great that you've got Klee and his/her tattoo parlor that is Christian in outlook, near you!

You said you love yours; sounds like you have more than one; are any of the designs faith/witness related, maybe?

Blessings.

Philippians is actually among my favorite Bible books (I love how chapter 4 where your verse is from has prayerfulness, thankfulness and joyfulness all bound to one another; kind of all bubbling up together, really.) Sometimes Philippians is called the Epistle of Joy.

It must be a joyful talking point when you have opportunities to tell ppl about the Philippians 4.13 that they see inked.

I'll have to try to find klee's parlor on the Web; Prophetic Ink; shouldn't be too hard to find it.

Yes, re. the good placements you mentioned; there are plenty of good and suitable placement options for women and men, now that women (that want to) are fully engaged and participating in receiving tattoos.

Blessings.

Philippians is def on of my favorites too. Philppians 413 comes w alot of meaning w me my dad n bothers we all hav it tattooed on us actually except my youngest brother hes 17 and cant get it yet...we went through alot the past 4 years so we all decided to get it as a reminder that no matter wat we r faced with God is always our strength :)

Well, what an interesting account of a family Bible verse tattoo! Several of you guys choosing to have it done.

Your 17 year old bro: maybe if he's a Christian already he'll want to do the rite of passage thing at 18, and get Philippians 4.13 done, too, as his first tattoo?

Maybe the Phil. 4.13 was your first one, too?

What an interesting story! I reckon you get to tell quite a few folk about it, anyway.

Blessings.

Atonement:

So is your daughter maybe coming with you to your cousin's parlor when he finishes your tattoo?

(Often folk have a bit of 'support' from family or friends when they go do it.)

Blessings.

No she doesn't like needles lol..

On the other thread, to do with this thread:

There have been many things that is just way too much to go into. But yes this is the reasoning behind the phil4:13 tattoos :).
@KayGraham1611 :

I guess there is a sense that your tattooed verse is a testimony and challenge to others; and also to you it can encourage you to keep focusing afresh on the thrill of its meaning... :) , right?

(Really sorry about what you are going through.)

:pray

Blessings.

Yes very much so. And thank you for understanding :) it will definitely be a testimony as soon as i figure out how to use it. But as far as my tattoo goes i can definitely say that it is a reminder that my strength comes from him n i can do all things through him :)

YW, and yes, well I guess now with the summer weather with people wearing short sleeves more, any compliments and questions that you get from time to time about your ink might include ones about the one of Philippians 4.13; the very fact that people read it, whether or not you get opportunities to talk more about it with them, can be used by the Holy Spirit to challenge them and point them to Christ.

I think you said arm, anyway.

I love the song verse that says:

'...the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.'

While some folk might use tats to draw attention to themselves, faith based ones can be used to point people to the Lord, right?

(Anyway, you might find your 17 year old bro wants to do it for his 18th, if he too is trusting the Lord.)

Blessings.

Yes he is going to get it we r taking him on his 18th to get it :) n yes it goes up the side of my wrist
@KayGraham1611 :

Oh well great, like, so he'll have his older sister, already a bit of an ink veteran, go with him and encourage and support him as he starts his own tattoo journey!

Right, well yes wrist is a very popular placement for women, and especially good for a Bible verse, right?

Blessings.
