Focus on the Family addresses the use of biblical principles in parenting and marriage to strengthen the family.

Racism, Really?

There is a coordinated effort to turn the populace against each other, fed intensely by media coverage which twists context and outright lies to build various narrative.

Black vs white. Male vs female. Cops vs criminals. Left vs right. Meat eaters vs vegans. Taco tuesday vs all day buffet. Anything you can think of is now being used to turn us against each other. People are so malleable that they dont even realize its occurring. Weve lost our ability for free/rational thought and now refuse to have civil discourse. All while losing our ability to even challenge the official narrative when we do choose to think outside the box.

All the while, our rights are being whittled away by the politicians in office. Every year we lose more and more freedom while were busy squabbling with each other..which is the entire goal behind it in my opinion. The more we look at each other the less we pay attention to whats going on behind the curtain. I started noticing this about 10 years ago and since it has escalated year by year. Of course it was occurring long before then, but it was around that time that it started to become painfully noticeable.

Get a grip folks. There walk among us people who use this manufactured strife to create opportunities for themselves and others. We know from the bible that eventually things get bad. Brother turns on brother, father on son, etc. Expect to see worse. As the masses keep getting fed a diet of whatever random narrative and rewarded for acting out in many cases the attitudes and egos will run unchecked so long as they provide sufficient distraction. Do what we can to help them see past their own gullibility and even outright stupidity. Most will stay willfully blind.
That sounds like a pretty accurate assessment of the current state of play in America. Even in Australia, culture wars persist. Mind you, covid, at least distracted us from issues like climate deniers versus climate alarmists. Not many seem to be moderate on that issue. Moderation is for cowards? In my opinion, moderates are the key to breaking down the division. They are the life savers. The rescuers.

I hear you loud and clear.

Indeed. Too much emotional thinking has led to its own host of camouflaged problems. All of us get sucked into it at times I think, but for many its a way of life now, reinforced by social media wizards who spin everything out of control. Ive recently come to the conclusion that beyond willful blindness there exists a state in which people refute the logic and truth because they simply enjoy the turmoil and the emotional rollercoaster. Extreme drama queens if you will.

I recently talked to a guy from your area, and he had pretty much the same comment on current affairs. Id started thinking maybe we were just losing our minds here on certain key issues, but noone has immunity it seems.

The Male Equivalent can be a Ken or a Kyle. Half the time people still just call them Karens as well. :tongue

So during lockdown when someone went for a isolated fish at the dock to feed his son because he had no cash to buy food and a grumpy old man went down telling him off saying hes breaking the rules, he would be a Ken?. Grumpy old man who cannot mind his own business?

Hey. What's wrong with grumpy old men? Some of my best friends ......

I was only talking about a specific situation and one grumpy old man who could not mind his own business.

Unless he is law enforcement what is anything his business and job to tell someone else off?. A wealthy retired pensioner, im sure lockdown was so hard for him, tough times.

As citizens don't we have a duty to uphold the law of our land?

So if the man done a citizen arrest on someone having a isolated fish trying to feed himself and his child you think that would have been justified?

Possibly but maybe he's doing his duty by calling the illegal activity to attention. One time I noticed what appeared to be some people breaking into the neighbor's house so I called the police. Turned out it was the owner who had locked himself out. Perhaps I should have minded my own business.

As it was obvioulsy not a direct threat just a suspect thief you called the authorities. Its called common sense.

It is law enforcements job to take it from there. You seen someone acting suspicious and called authorities.

Trolley man took the law into his hands protecting his cpuntry and people and threw a trolley at a terrorist who was going on a killing spree, that is justified, thats a bit different from a peaceful person who is hungry going for a isolated fish to feed his family.

But how would we know he is doing it because he's hungry and not doing it for other personal gain? Here in MN we have daily and possession limits for fish. For example, the statewide daily limit for perch is 20 with a possession limit of 40. This means it is permitted to keep up to 20 perch in any given day with a maximum possession limit of 40 at any given time. Suppose I know of a person that will catch their daily limit, bring them home, and then return to the lake to take additional fish simply because they are biting aggressively. Or, they already have a 40 perch at home in their freezer and yet they are on the lake keeping additional fish. In either case, it is not legal because they exceed their daily or possession limit. If I know about it, should I not report them? After all, by exceeding their limit of fish, they are demeaning the reputation of fishermen and women or damaging our fishery for everyone else that is following the law.

Here's another thought. Jesus instructed us to care for others. As Christians would it be appropriate for us to allow a starving person to break the law, which was instituted by God (see Romans 13:1), in order to feed himself or would it be the right thing to do to feed that person? In the scenario you describe, what would be better. Let the person attempt to catch a meal, which may not happen, or feed him?

Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
Philippians 2:4 NKJV

If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?
James 2:15-16 NKJV

Then the King will say to those on His right hand, "Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me." Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, "Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?" And the King will answer and say to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me."
Matthew 25:34-40 NKJV

Exactly.

If the rules mean i must starve then thats the rules i must starve. I just obey the rules.

But you said you would look the other way while you see someone breaking the fishing rules to feed himself. I'm saying to do so is using poor Christian judgment. Because government is instituted by God therefore the laws imposed are as well. As Christians our duty is to help that person in two ways. Feed them and that way they get filled and stay legal.

So if you seen someone hungry trying to catch a fish to eat because they are hungry and there family is hungry and it was against the rules you would not only watch them starve but snitch on them?

Pretty much. If the guy was social distancing, he was not hurting anyone.

No. It would be my Christian calling to feed them. That's what James meant in the Scripture I quoted you. Here it is again.

I pick my battles on this .

if my neighbor ,per mUnicode of my state ,has no water, report them and the city or county fines them or evicts..that solves nothing

I watched three idiots bypass the blockade on the bridge and rude their bikes.I was tempted to call them in .
a coworker dumps trash weekly in the city dumpster, yet can freely visit the open transfer station .

under county codes ,you, can't have an untagged car in your yard .

of these who is made safer ?not even the bridge one is dangeroys as it nots falling down nor is their debris ,just keeping traffic off that side to keep the work area clear for the repair crew and the the stuff they need and at the time no one was there .

the public pooper ,she crapped in the woods ,homeless do that in,their camps in the middle of communities .I get the reasons why they clear them out but it burns me if you don't at least arrest them for that

I have reported a public pooper to the police ,she wasn't. charged .

Im sittin on top of the the world.

Starve me, beat me, humans can do whatever they want to me in claiming its in the name of my own safety and others. I obey the rules.
