Oh, now that makes it an all-together-different proposition.

Removing contaminated soil is very costly.
If lawsuit holds.it was cleaned up a few times.I wouldn't want to live thar close to the tracks.I can hear the train on the barrier island.even on the east side near the ocean.

Didn't realize there were train tracks that close. Not a good idea for apartments/condos, then.
 
It's a gorgeous building, no doubt about it.
This is the after restoration. It was awful prior,windows broken no fence ,and yet it was operational in those days!I MAY post some arias from the Topos of then.to show the changes I remember. The road ended at this plant and didn't cross the tracks

It would be good if a practical use could be made of the building. I'd hate the thought of it being torn down.

They cant,historic registered edifice.I have a pdf file of historic surveying done and its has thus very home as a cover pageView attachment 7734
 
Don't assume they cant.on the register is one such place they did.the riomar country clubhouse built in 25.I

The home is a politician.look up merril p barber.that was his home.note.not all of these homes as I have learned are pre depression they were built from thar time to the 50s as such.I haven't the time to correct them all.but this home built as a golf course hone as all on the street were is from the 20s.the neighbor is my chiropractor. I will verify the homes I repost using the county tax sight. This was built in 47View attachment 7735

Yes,the draw bridge before the current one I posted was called the Merrill p barber bridge.his family lives here still and donated the sephamore to the rr museum.the wooden bridge also had that name sake

That home has been restored ,several paint jobs.if it wasn't so personal.I might post his home history ie petmits,type if construction the garage there isn't original as it collapsed during the hurricane of of 04 and the new one looks like old.save it's not a flat roof

Oh that one.if notice the larger six bedroom home in the back. It too was built at the same time, so was it's sister to the south.the two homes are owned by the same lady. This lot shown is small
 
Any of his family have political aspirations - like being mayor ?
They live here but I haven't talked to them.I know that the sons of young,are active ,look up a.w.young the first mayor.his grandson helps vets.look up alex McWilliams sr.
