You say what matters is the Word of God, right? The Word of God written down by John said these things were SOON to take place.
Yes, the Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto Him, to shew unto His servants things which must shortly come to pass, and he sent and signified it by His angel unto His servant John.
And the angel of the LORD said to John:
Revelation 1:19
1- Write the things which thou hast seen,
2 - and the things which are,
3 - and the things which shall be hereafter;
1 - The things which John have seen is written in the chap.1;
2 - The things which are and were written by John(around year 95AD), they are written in the chapters 2-3; John describes the spiritual conditions of the Churches of the Lord in that time, and five of the seven angels of the churches were reproved, the churches were contaminated by evil influences, devilish teachings, and doctrines, and threatened by the satanic Antichrist's spirit. By the way, John already had written in his 1st universal epistle (around 85-90AD), saying: "Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist SHALL COME, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. John was speaking of the former church of the Lord in Rome, which in that time (around 85-90AD) already had created the Papacy, and had been apostatized by Satan.
The conditions of the churches today are very worse, in the parable of the ten virgins, JESUS revealed 50% were foolish virgins and they were rejectedc and condemned to eternal perdition. Be careful or get ready.
3 - The things which shall be hereafter, as said the angel of the Lord, these things were written only and only after John be caught up to the 3rd heaven, that is the next heaven: Revelation 4:1 - After this (after what John saw - chapters 1-3) I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. So, after John be caught up, he wrote all future events from chapter 4 to 22.
Revelation 22:11-20
11 - He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
I believe it took place soon afterwards, the terrible event which was judgement upon the Jewish people who had murdered the son of God. No other generation can be said to have done that. The Word says that that generation would not all die before the judgement would come.
Unfortunately you were deceived by that diabolical theory, it even reminds us of the terrible event described in
Genesis 3.
So I would advise you not to say that your position IS what the Word says because some things the Word says your position denies.
I don’t say “all wrong” because none of us have all truth or correct thinking on all matters. We’re all learning. But when one stands on the pedestal of “MY position reflects the Word and yours doesn’t,” it only takes the verses not considered to knock them off the loftier position.
Well, what matters and prevails is the Word of GOD, the Word is GOD, understand?
JESUS said: John 16:13-15
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
