All this monkeying around when there is not sufficient data to even support the idea the man and ape are related is driving me bananas.

"Does the DNA similarity between chimps and humans prove a common ancestry? Answer

It is said that our DNA structures are 97% similar to that of a chimps. Are we only highly evolved apes? For a proper understanding of this issue, consider these seven concepts."

Man is ape.

Does the DNA similarity between chimps and humans prove a common ancestry?

No, but it suggests it...

Suggests and proves are two different words. Prove it and I'll believe it.

I believe I made the distinction between suggests and proves in my post. That is why I began that sentence with "No." However, you wouldn't believe evolution even if you observed it yourself...

Bingo, Keebs. I believe in God because I have seen His hand in my life. You have too, your just in denial so you've turned to evolution as your explaination.

If I saw something Evolve I'd believe in evolution, the probem is, no one has seen evolution at work have they?

Oh really...and where is "His" hand?

You can witness evolution very easily in your own home...start a yeast culture.

A yeast culture is a population, hence the term culture. It is evolution.

Yet,you will believe that apes are your ancestors?

Great, that's awesome. Why are you posting in a science forum then?

 We are not against science, evolution is and so then must
you also be,amen.
Why are you here at all, thats the clincher?

Christians quote in a Christian science forum because they have every right to do so.

God created all things. His laws do not contradict scripture.

The Christian Geologist looks at the same evidence that a non-Christian geologist looks at.

The two simply view the data from a starting point.

Microevolution is the same thing as growth or adaptation. Why use a scientific term if I don't need to?

The bible warned that this day would
come when many people would turn to fables instead of the sound
truth of the gospel.

Well, atleast the bible predicts one good thing. If believing in the evidence is considered a fable, then I hope it spreads.

God created all things. His laws do not contradict scripture.

But his laws do not support the scripture either...

Microevolution is the same thing as growth or adaptation.

No, it's not: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microevolution

Wrong, Brutus. We've already told you stuff like this before, why do you keep posting it again and again?

Micro-evolution does not exist. Evolution is evolution.

Within Evolution, we have "Adaptation, Natural Selection, Genetic Drift, Mutations, and so on.

Really, Asimov. The debate would lead a reader to believe microevolution does in fact exist.

http://www.christianforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=10987

Nor did you object when BL corrected me when I said evolution did not exist, and he said yes Micro evolution does.

If I'm being ignorrant in this case, I'm fine with that, because you have not given me an example of evolution thatcan't be explained by adaptation or growth.

Asimov is referring to how macroevolution is microevolution over a longer time period.

Brutus/HisCatalyst said:

The concept exists, Brutus. There is no magical barrier that separates micro from macro, they use the same processes, and are the same process. The difference is time.

Nor did you object when BL corrected me when I said evolution did not exist, and he said yes Micro evolution does.

Because the concept of micro evolution is the only important thing. You act like micro and macro are compeltely two different things, they are not.

If I'm being ignorrant in this case, I'm fine with that, because you have not given me an example of evolution thatcan't be explained by adaptation or growth.

That's fine, brutus, changing the definition of what is evolution does not not make it evolution.
