Hello all, I would like to review three topics, for these topics are pressing on my heart..

1. Is the Bible Prophesying More than Just the Word
2. Faith and What this Word Means to You
3. What Jesus Means by Eternal Life

1. John 2:19 - It took 46 years to build this temple, and you will raise it up in 3 days? My Response - If you've come to Faith, you know now that the Kingdom of God is inside of you and the temple he is referring too is his body. A Jehovah Witness has not come to this revelation yet. THEY are still sinners. Either you're on the outside or inside the Body of Christ. Those that have come to Faith know they are on the inside.

2. 2 Corinthians 5:7 - Faith to me means something that we only see in our hearts but can't be proven by sight. In order to be 'inside' the Body of Christ, you must confess through your heart and mouth that you are a sinner. Once you do this you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit, and the revelation that Jesus is God in the flesh will now be Truth to you. To believe is to have Faith.

1&3. John 5:39-47 - You study the scriptures because you think that in them you will find eternal life, and these very scriptures speak about me, yet you are not willing to come to me to have life. My Response - Why is Jesus saying that even though you study scriptures, it's not enough. Why doesn't a person that studies scriptures not have Eternal Life? We MUST come to Faith first. John 14:11 - Eternal Life means living forever with Jesus who is also God in Heaven and The New Earth. For this fallen earth is only temporary.

Depending on what version of the Bible you're reading, the word 'Faith' appears over 200-300 times. Once you come to Faith, you will never lose your inheritance in Heaven, no matter how weak or strong your Faith is now. Once you've been saved, it is permanent. 1 Peter 1:4 - He wants you to know this, and for your Faith to grow stronger in Him. When they speak of 'Faith' what are they referring too, what does this word mean to you. In the end, I believe what separates a religious man from Eternal Life is Faith.

Good question.

Faith is a word than gets thrown about fairly consistently and can mean almost anything depending on which way the wind is blowing.

What we, as Christians, are asked to believe is that which lies beyond the seen world - beyond the beyond.

I have noticed that people understand the scriptures well here, but it's the words in the scriptures that is creating our indifference. In the book of John, Jesus speaks of His Father's House. What the Jews lacked Faith in, was that The Father's House is INSIDE THE TEMPLE OF HIS BODY. They didn't understand how He could rebuild the temple in three days. So when you come to Faith and you are saved, The Father's House AND The Holy Spirit is inside the Body of Christ, and the Body of Christ dwells inside of YOU. But you have to come to Faith first, you see how that works?

Matthew 7:7 - Sin is what's stopping people from asking, seeking and knocking.
John 2:19 - The Temple was his Body
John 14:10 - Notice He says here 'dwelleth in me'
John 5:39-47 - Notice he says here 'they think they have eternal life'

What do the words Temple, Eternal Life and The Father's House mean to everybody?
What does it mean when I say you are either 'outside' or 'inside' the Body of Christ?

When He was raised from the dead where did He Go?
INSIDE THE SOULS OF THOSE WHO HAVE FAITH!

John 14:18 - When He says comfortless, he's referring to the Holy Spirit; the comforter, counsler and helper. It's important to understand that when you're baptized it's not just the Holy Spirit that dwells in you..it's also the Father's House AND the Body of Christ.

Has anyone seen these films about Jesus?
The Gospel of John starring Henry Ian Cusick - I Recommend this First
The Greatest Story Ever Told starring Max von Sydow
Jesus of Nazareth starring Robert Powell
Jesus starring Brian Deacon

Now we're getting somewhere..John 3:8
This is why we seek his face and listen for his voice.

I wrote the below elsewhere in a slightly different context re: faith but it may be relevant here:

The concept of faith is on itself incomplete, we have faith in something or someone. In this case, it's someone.

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him" - Hebrews 11:6

The greek word rendered for faith in the New Testament is pistis, it's definitions include;

faith, belief, trust, confidence; fidelity, faithfulness.

Additional definitions include be persuaded, come to trust

If we think about having faith in a person, we don't put our trust in people without knowledge and experience of them. In England, we used to have faith in the banking system, we trusted the bankers. Once evidence came to light that they couldn't be trusted, we lost faith in them. Faith and evidence are inter-connected. The more we know about someone, the more our faith increases or decreases.

The latin for faith is fides, one definition is informal documentary evidence showing that a person is what they claim to be This is a very apt definition of the Bible. If God wanted us to believe without evidence, he wouldn't have given us the Bible. As Christians we accept the Bible is the word of God to varying degrees and we have "faith" that the scriptures are accurate but how do you avoid circular arguments like;

How do you know the Bible is accurate?
Because it's the word of God
How do you know it's the word of God?
Because the Bible says so
So how do you know the Bible is accurate?

Jesus is an historical figure, what he did is a part of history. The Bible has been copied and the original manuscripts are lost. But we can have confidence what we have is very close (99.5%) to the originals because of the number surviving copies and how early they are.

But there is also an outworking of faith, it's not just a set of intellectual questions. It's also about love, commitment and these can be the most powerful evidences for God there is. If I hadn't met 3 particular Christians, I'm not sure I would have got there. It all added to the evidence of Gods reality and trustworthiness.

I sometimes think Christians take faith in God for granted, his existence and trustworthiness. It's the easiest thing for us to do, even though there are bumps along the way. I wasn't always a Christian, wasn't brought up in a Christian household, I didn't have faith and I couldn't put my faith in someone I wasn't even sure existed let alone was trustworthy. But where there are questions there are usually answers and the answers helped quell my doubts.

So when someone says you must have faith, clarify what they mean by that because it's not a simple word to be taken lightly

Excellent response. When i say the word Faith, I'm hoping to focus on the Faith that comes to light when we are saved vs being unsaved. What makes a person turn to Christ and want to be saved, Faith. That turning point that turns an atheist into a saved christian, turning point meaning Faith. We all have a choice to admit we're sinners, having free will. We can't see the God we're coming to Faith too just yet, thus having Faith. Jesus no longer walks this earth so we can't just go up to his house here. His home is in Heaven. Jesus walked this earth and people STILL didn't believe he was God in the Flesh. Jesus died, and only through Faith do we believe he was something more. He was SO MUCH MORE!

What I mean by YOU MUST is..

Once you come to Faith, you will never lose your inheritance in Heaven, no matter how weak or strong your Faith is now. Once you've been saved, it is permanent. 1 Peter 1:4 - He wants you to know this, and for your Faith to grow stronger in Him.

You MUST be baptized in the Holy Spirit to enter Holy Land. Heaven is his home, it is Holy, Pure and without sin. I'm not referring to having Faith in worldly things. That's where confusion sets it. I'm stating to have Faith in a God that is not of this world. Having faith in a banking system in THIS world is different than having Faith for a Heavenly God. To understand who Jesus is, is to understand that He was not of this world. Not many people can grasp that he was Holy, Perfect, Without Sin. That's why they say there is no sun in heaven. The Glory of God lights up Heaven. Revelation 21:23 - People are too focused on worldly things to even care or visit this forum for that matter. That's why few come to him and put their trust in him, their all focused on the banking system and not of Heavenly things. Why deny such an inheritance, in a fallen world none the less.

It's still faith though. The concept of something or someone being morally trustworthy is still the same. Only the object or person we have put our faith in is different. I completely agree Jesus is not of this world and many people have put their faith in worldly things but we can say their faith is misplaced but its still faith.

It's what we're doing on a day to day basis that keeps God out of our perimeter. The system that we're in is the devil's system. Work your whole life, pay the bills, retire and then die. I'm not saying that working is a bad thing, but focusing on JUST the system isn't good. We need to be growing in Faith with him, getting to know Christ is endless! The last thing the devil wants is for somebody to shake things up and bring people to God.

Worldly desires vs. Heavenly desires - We focus more on shopping at the mall, video games, tv, wordly news, worldly music, how we look, what we wear, feeling complete in worldly desires. Heavenly desires are desires of Christ. Heavenly desires speak to your heart and help you grow spiritually. That's why we should pray on a continual basis, so the devil doesn't throw us off track. The devil keeps us focused on worldly things, so we keep our eyes off Christ. Would you rather put your trust in people on THIS earth or Christ who has authority over all things. Trust God first, THEN people. The question the person has to ask themselves is what does Jesus really mean to them, how far are they willing to go to find Truth.

Admitting you're a sinner and coming to Faith will be the hardest thing you will ever do, but the best decision you will ever make.
