Bible Study Separation of Church and State

Tell the Vatican to dig into the vaults and share a little of those billions they have stashed.
Do you think they have billions stashed? Many here think this, but I don't know. I know that they have a lot.
Most of the time when people talk about the riches of the Vatican, they mean all those paintings and buildings and other art; like old bibles, crowns, etc. Even if they did want to sell these things, who would buy them?
Anyway, they do a lot of work for the needy around the world. I'll bet if you checked you'd find that they do more than any other church.

P.S. They won't listen to me...

Their catacombs go 24 miles deep but only the first little bit is open to the public.
I'm told there are untold billions behind those closed doors, priceless treasures, and literature that would expose the church for what it really is.
Also, most everything for sale in Italy is own by the Vatican.
When you buy soap, towels, toiletries, etc., everything is Vatican owned.
Huge amount of real estate around the world that is untaxed.
One priest back in the 80's who did an audit on the Vatican said that the church could go out of the religion business and not miss a beat because they were so rich and so well invested in everything in the world.

I agree, but, really, they wouldn't be able to sell all that stuff. I think Pope Francis wants to make the banking business (of the Vatican) more transparent. We'll see about that. Does he really rule down in Rome? I'm not so sure. He does set a tone. Anyway, they're not taking our advice

The Vatican every so often gives itself a face lift and make people think they have changed.
But they never change.
The only thing that matters is if they make people think they have changed, and they do a very good job of that.

Can you give proof of all your claims? I see different information...

That sounds like an excuse, not a reason. And it is capital "C".

I thought you said a few weeks ago that you were no Scribe or Pharisee, yet here I find you, Malachi the Scribe, pointing out every jot and tittle. If you hadn't have pointed out the error in the post from wondering, in that church should be spelled with a capitol C, I would have never understood the spirit of her message. :biggrin

Yes, when I have time to dig out the book written by the priest that provides all this information, and then reread it to find the exact passages, then I'll give you the sources.
In the meantime, you'll have to take my word for it or call me a liar.

Well, since I offered sources, and you didn't, I don't think I'll just take your word for it.
