Seven Year Covenant and Daniel’s 70 weeks

Brother, do you understand how long it took to rebuild the Temple?
The scripture below clealy teaches the "Wall" & "Street" will be built, there is no mention of temple as you suggest.

Daniel 9:25-27KJV
25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Daniel 10:2,3 has nothing to do with the prophecy of the 70 weeks as this is about a literal three week fast he went on after receiving and understanding the 70 weeks.

Daniel 10:1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision. 2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks. 3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled
Daniel 10:2-3 has everything to do with understanding "Three Weeks" (Shabuwa) as seen in the book of Daniel, the very same word used in Daniel 9:25-27 "Seventy Weeks"

We will disagree.

Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. (Prophecy of coming Messiah)

A Day Equals One Year

The 70 week prophecy of Daniel 9:24, however, establishes a principle related to prophetic time that few completely understand. Virtually everyone acknowledges that the 70 weeks are not literally 70 weeks, but rather 70 weeks of years, or 490 years. The principle is that in Bible prophecy, you must substitute a period of a year in place of a day. This is the day=year principle. This equation is clearly established in scripture-

Numbers 14:34 after the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.

In this verse, a relationship between day and year is clear, each day will equate to a literal year. For the forty days that Israel spied in Canaan in unbelief, they would be punished by wandering forty years in the desert.

Ezekiel 4:6 and when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.

Here again, the equation is stated quite openly, a prophetic day represents a literal year. So to return to the 70 weeks of Daniel, you must first determine the number of days represented. Seventy weeks is 70 x 7 or 490 days, which will then equate to a literal 490 years in the fulfillment of the prophecy.
There is no magic formula for interpreting 70 weeks, it is clearly 490 future days, we will disagree.

Daniel 10:2-3 has everything to do with understanding "Weeks" (Shabuwa) as seen in the book of Daniel, the very same word used in Daniel 9:25-27 "Seventy Weeks"

I have no idea what Shabuwa means as I can't find that word. No mortal could ever go without food and drink for seventy weeks, so no three weeks and seventy weeks are not the same in Chapter 10 and 9, plus Daniel's fast was after the prophecy of the seventy weeks that Gabriel revealed to him.

It's very clear when you put the full context together of Numbers 14:34; Ezekiel 4:6 and Daniel 9:24-27. You are not disagreeing with me, but with scripture.

Daniels 70 Weeks are no more than 490 future days that will be seen in Jerusalem.

Its your opinion that you are correct, It's my opinion you are inncorrect.

It's my opinion that the scripture you have presented has no relationship to Daniel 9:24-27

Daniel's 70 weeks are 490 literal future days in Jerusalem.

We will disagree.

You mixed up the whole presentation?

No a human can't fast 3X7=21 years, as seen in the magical day for years teaching.

Daniel 9:24-27 in 70 weeks represents 490 literal days.

I never compared Daniel's 3 week fast with that of his vision of the 70. I said they are different.

Again I ask, what is Shabuwa?

Truth7t7, This is lengthy and I am sure you will not read it, but here it is anyway.

The 70th begins with commandment to restore and rebuild Jerusalem.

Ezra 1: 2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

Messiah is cut-off at the crucifixion which is the 69th week. God set aside the wrath that will come in the 70th week and revealed the revelation of the mystery to the apostle John and we will be in that gap until God pours out his wrath upon those who refuse to repent during the seven trumpet and seven vial judgments then will Jesus return and sends His angels out to the four corners of the earth to gather His bride to Him.

The command to rebuild Jerusalem was in 457BC. Daniel 9:25 says it took 7 weeks (49 years) to rebuild. This brings us to 408BC.

Daniel says 62 weeks later (434 years) Messiah will arrive. This brings us to 27AD which is the end of week 69 and start of week 70. (408 – 343 = -26. Add 1 year for year “0” and you come to 27AD)

Daniel 9:26, 27 says Messiah is cut off and in the midst of week 70th Jesus shall confirm the covenant (grace) and that which is determined (judged) will be that of Gods judgment of those not found written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Note 1: There are different opinions on who “the people of the prince” refers to in Daniel 9:26 but the majority of scholars however do agree that the destruction of the city and the sanctuary applies to the second destruction of Jerusalem and the rebuilt sanctuary by Roman armies under Prince Titus in 70 A.D.

Note 2: Remember the 70 weeks or 490 years was the time God gave His chosen nation to end their rebellion where they would then be forgiven for their transgressions. Now note that Jesus references this prophetic time period while conversing with Peter on the topic forgiveness. 70 times 7 is of course 490.

Matthew 18:21 “Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Till seven times? 22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.”

For those wondering, the well known and accepted day for a year rule is correct or otherwise the entire ministry of Jesus would have only been 3.5 days instead of 3.5 years and the entire prophecy would have only lasted about 1.3 years. That would be from 457 B.C. to approximately 455 B.C. The temple and the streets and the walls of Jerusalem etc would have had to have been rebuilt in 49 days. This would be an impossible task and it certainly did take every bit of the 49 years as one would expect.

So let’s just clarify these times again. Daniel 9:24 “Seventy weeks are determined upon your people” Seventy weeks is 70 x 7 days which is 490 prophetic days, which on the day for a year rule is 490 years.

Daniel 9:25 “Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.”

Daniel 9:25 states that from the decree to rebuild the temple until the Messiah (means anointed one), which can only be Jesus, is 7 weeks and threescore and two weeks, Three score is 60, plus two equals 62 weeks. So this is 7 + 62 = 69 weeks from the decree to rebuild Jerusalem until the beginning of Christ’s ministry. The ministry of Jesus began with His baptism around the age of thirty, Luke 3:22, 23.

The 7 weeks (49 days = 49 years) was the time it took to rebuild the Temple and streets etc and the remaining 62 weeks brings us to the Baptism of the Messiah. Note that Christ means the “anointed one” in Greek while Messiah means the “anointed one” in Hebrew.

Daniel 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.”

This leaves only the final 70th week, which is 7 years to complete the 70 weeks of Daniel, (7 + 62 + 1 = 70 weeks or 490 years). We are told that after the threescore and two weeks (60 + 2 = 62) that the Messiah would be cut off. In other words, cut off from the land of the living, that is, killed by crucifixion. This happens after the 62 week period which follows the 7 weeks, so this is 69 weeks into the prophecy. Note that is says “after” this time period and not at the end of the 69 weeks exactly. So how long after the 62nd week was it when Jesus was crucified?

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

Daniel 9:27 shows us exactly when after the total of 69 weeks Jesus was cut off, but not for Himself for He was cut off for us as He died for our sins. Note that it states that He, Jesus, caused the sacrifice and the oblation to cease in the middle of the final week (7 years), which is 3.5 years of course. When Jesus, the Lamb of God, died on the cross, He became our one and final perfect sacrifice and put an end to the temple sacrifices. This was signified by the temple curtain being torn from top to bottom.

Matthew 27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent.

This still leaves 3.5 years before the end of Daniel’s 70 weeks (490 years) and the close of probation for Israel. The Gospel was still to go the Jews exclusively for this remaining time. So what happened at the end of the 490 years? Stephen gave one immense and very significant speech before the Sanhedrin. This was God giving the Jews their final chance to repent. How did they respond and what did they do, read Acts 7:54-60.

Notice that this is an extremely significant event as we see Stephen say, “I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.” It is also interesting to note that Stephen effectively said, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” The final 3.5 years, which was the same time period of the ministry of Jesus Christ, ended with the death of Stephen and him effectively saying the same words as Jesus when He was crucified. This marked the end of a very significant time period being the end of the Daniel’s 70 weeks.

Im very aware of the teaching you present, I been at this 40 years.

This teaching was largely expounded in "Sir Isaac Newton" in the 16th century in his book

"Observations upon the prophecies of Daniel and the Apocalypse of St.John"

Newton was an occultist, and he was heavily involved in Kabbalistic numerology, as he set forth many aspects of occultism, Alchemy being another, he was involved in the Rosicrucian order, sorta like a father in Freemasonry in London England 1717.

The scripture clearly teaches there will be a future 70 weeks, or 490 days.

There will be a future call to restore and build Jerusalem, wall and street to their awaited upon Messiah, there will be 7 weeks or 49 days of planning, 62 weeks or 434 days of building that will be stopped as the future world armies will surround Jerusalem.

The antichrist will make a covenant of peace in the final week or 7 day period, at this point the future 3.5 year great tribulation starts, as the two most holy witnesses of Revelation chapter 11 are anointed in starting their ministry on earth.

I followed dispensationalism for 20 years, im fully aware of the teaching of a pre-trib rapture, Daniels 70 weeks, and a future 1000 year kingdom on this earth?

Your teaching regarding Daniels 70 weeks is a mirror image of their teaching.

All teachings they present regarding the above are in error in my opinion.

This teaching has 69 weeks fulfilled and a floating 70th week of millenniums 2,000 years and waiting.

Now thats a fairy tale in my opinion

  • The predetermined intent of the Lord can be discovered in studying all the scriptures that pertain to this prophecy.

I will list a few below.

Just from verse 25 alone we find the phrase
To restore and build Jerusalem.

Jerusalem includes the Temple area.

Without the restoration of relationship and order between the Lord and His people, then His blessing would not be upon His people nor His Holy nation.

This is what seperated the nation of Israel from all the other nations, as their God was among them.

Know therefore and understand,
That from the going forth of the command
To restore and build Jerusalem
Until Messiah the Prince,
There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;
The street shall be built again, and the wall,
Even in troublesome times.
26 “And after the sixty-two weeks
Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;
And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined. Daniel 9:25-26

2 Thus says Cyrus king of Persia:

All the kingdoms of the earth the Lord God of heaven has given me. And He has commanded me to build Him a house at Jerusalem which is in Judah. 3 Who is among you of all His people? May his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel (He is God), which is in Jerusalem. 4 And whoever is left in any place where he dwells, let the men of his place help him with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, besides the freewill offerings for the house of God which is in Jerusalem.

5 Then the heads of the fathers’ houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and the Levites, with all whose spirits God had moved, arose to go up and build the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem.
Ezra 1:2-5

From the Lords perspective, to restore and build Jerusalem means restoring the temple.

Well, if you think it only took 49 days to rebuild the second Temple and restore and build Jerusalem to the time of Messiah then you are casting away what scripture says. We are still in the midst of the 70th week as Messiah (Jesus) has not returned yet.

Ezra Chapter 1-6: Cyrus was king of Persia from 559-530BC. In the first year of his reign (559BC) God gave him a charge to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. It was finished in the sixth year of the reign of Darius I in 516BC. If my math is right it took 43 years to build the second Temple

The accurate date for the restoration of Jerusalem prophecied in Daniel 9:25 was in 457BC. In 536BC king Cyrus allowed the Jews to return to Jerusalem, but he died in 530BC. Cyrus was followed by Cambyses, then Smerdis who only reigned half a year sent his soldiers out to destroy many temples around the Empire which included the beginning of the second Temple. According to Haggai 2:18 in 520BC the Israelites are again beginning to build the Temple by laying down the foundation of the second Temple. In the sixth year (516) of the reign of Darius I the Temple was completed. It took five years from 520-515BC to complete the second Temple.

Ezra received his decree from Artaxerxes in 457BC, being the seventh year of Artaxerxes reign and from the date of the decree to rebuild the Temple and rebuild and restore Jerusalem after the 70 year Babylonian captivity and the beginning of the public ministry of Jesus would be 483 years.

Once again nothing states "Temple" it directly states "Wall & Street" you add to scripture something that isn't there.

There might be a future temple built, however the 70 literal weeks pertain to "Wall & Street"

Daniel 9:24-27KJV
24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Your espousing the teaching of occultist "Sir Issac Newton" he has invented the day for a year, and his great mathmetic interpretations that are followed by many.

Newton was a Kabbalaist into numerology of the bible, and secret interpretations, Alchemist, Occultist.

It is this teaching of the occultist Newton, that is the foundation for the teaching you follow.

Chapter 10
This Prophecy, like all the rest of Daniel's, consists of two parts, an introductory Prophecy and an explanation thereof; the whole I thus translate and interpret.
[1]'Seventy weeks are [2] cut out upon thy people, and upon thy holy city, to finish transgression, and[3] to make an end of sins, to expiate iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, to consummate the Vision and [4] the Prophet, and to anoint the most Holy.
'Know also and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to cause to return and to build Jerusalem, unto [5] the Anointed the Prince, shall be seven weeks.
'Yet threescore and two weeks shall [6] it return, and the street be built and the wall; but in troublesome times: and after the threescore and two weeks, the Anointed shall be cut off, and [7] it shall not be his; but the people of a Prince to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary: and the end thereof shall be <130> with a flood, and unto the end of the war, desolations are determined.
'Yet shall he confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in half a week he shall cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease: and upon a wing of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that which is determined be poured upon the desolate.'
Seventy weeks are cut out upon thy people, and upon thy holy city, to finish transgression, &c. Here, by putting a week for seven years, are reckoned 490 years from the time that the dispersed Jewsshould be re-incorporated into [8] a people and a holy city, until the death and resurrection of Christ; whereby transgression should be finished, and sins ended, iniquity be expiated, and everlasting righteousness brought in, and this Vision be accomplished, and the Prophet consummated, that Prophet whom the Jewsexpected; and whereby the most Holy should be anointed, he who is therefore in the next words called the Anointed, that is, the Messiah, or the Christ. For by joining the accomplishment of the vision with the expiation of sins, the 490 years are ended with the death of Christ. Now the dispersed Jews became a people and city when they first returned into a polity or body politick; and this was in the seventh year <131> of Artaxerxes Longimanus, when Ezra returned with a body of Jews from captivity, and revived the Jewishworship; and by the King's commission created Magistrates in all the land, to judge and govern the people according to the laws of God and the King, Ezra vii. 25. There were but two returns from captivity, Zerubbabel's and Ezra's; in Zerubbabel's they had only commission to build the Temple, in Ezra's they first became a polity or city by a government of their own. Now the years of this Artaxerxes began about two or three months after the summer solstice, and his seventh year fell in with the third year of the eightieth Olympiad; and the latter part thereof, wherein Ezra went up to Jerusalem, was in the year of the Julian Period 4257. Count the time from thence to the death of Christ, and you will find it just 490 years. If you count in Judaic years commencing in autumn, and date the reckoning from the first autumn after Ezra's coming to Jerusalem, when he put the King's decree in execution; the death of Christ will fall on the year of the Julian Period4747, Anno Domini 34; and the weeks will be Judaic weeks, ending with sabbatical years; and this I take to be the truth: but if you had rather place the death of Christ in the year before, as is com <132> monly done, you may take the year of Ezra's journey into the reckoning.

I see nothing here any different then what scripture and history already gives us. One needs not to look any further than what has already been written and the dates of the reign of each king starting with Cyrus and ending with Artaxerxes when the timing of building the second Temple and restoring and rebuilding of Jerusalem to the time of Messiah would be around 490 years. It has nothing to do with numerology, but of actual dates in history. Did you not know that between the OT and NT God was silent against Israel for around 500 years before Messiah come.

Israel lost her right to be called Gods chosen people, (God did save a faithful remnant), as they fell into idolatry worshipping other gods as they allowed themselves to fall from Gods grace as they followed the lust of their own hearts as they practiced Judaism, 1Kings 9:1-9. God’s judgment against them led them to be captured, 605 – 537 B.C., by Nebuchadnezzar and taken into Babylon for seventy years while Nebuchadnezzar’s army killed many Jews in Judah and Jerusalem destroying the whole city of Jerusalem including the first Temple that was built through King Solomon’s reign in Jerusalem.

The second Temple was built under Ezra’s leadership and Israel continued practicing Judaism and their Temple was desecrated as part of an effort to impose Greek-oriented culture and customs on the entire population. Roman rule refurbished the temple as Herod, Romans vassal king, rules the land of Israel. In 70 A.D. the Temple is once again destroyed. The Temple Mount was taken over in 691 A.D. as the Arab nation built the Dome of the Rock and there has not been any other Temple built since that time on the original Temple Mount.

God gave Israel 490 years to repent. They were set free from Babylon when the Medes and Persian conquered Babylon (Chaldeans) around 538 B.C. They were allowed back in the land and to rebuild the city of Jerusalem, however, they still did not repent for their sin of idol worshipping and they continued to receive punishment from God as the kingdom was taken away and eventually taken over by the Roman Empire. Malachi Chapter 1-4.

The 490 years were up and many of the Jews not only did not repent but they killed the very Messiah they had been waiting for as well as in 24 A.D. they made an opened display of rejecting the Gospel message as they stoned Stephen being the final messenger that was sent to give them their last chance to repent. The Jews were now rejected as God’s chosen people and were no different from the Gentiles as from that time forth each individual, Jew and Gentile has to make their own decision to accept or reject Jesus as Lord and Savior, John 3:3-7; Romans 10:9, 10.

You give complete disregard to occultist "Sir Issac Newton" as being the foundation of this teaching in magical numerology.

You forget the floating 70th week of millenniums and still waiting.

70 weeks are determined, but were gonna have an intermission for 2,000 years to get to the 70th week?

Looks like a little bend and twist to make things fit don't ya think?

Daniels 70 weeks or 490 literal day's are future, and will start with the future command to build the "Wall & Street" in Jerusalem.

The 70th week is future, that will see armies having surrounded Jerusalem and the revealing of the antichrist, the man of false peace, who will proclaim to be the awaited upon Messiah to the Jews on earth.

We will disagree.

Once again nothing states "Temple" it directly states "Wall & Street" you add to scripture something that isn't there.

There might be a future temple built, however the 70 literal weeks pertain to "Wall & Street"

Know therefore and understand,
That from the going forth of the command
To restore and build Jerusalem
Until Messiah the Prince,
There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;
The street shall be built again, and the wall,
Even in troublesome times.
Daniel 9:25

Once again everything about the 70 weeks pertains to restoring Jerusalem.

Is the Temple part of Jerusalem?

Yes or No?

  • The command that starts the 70 weeks directly and clearly involves the Temple.

2 Thus says Cyrus king of Persia:

All the kingdoms of the earth the Lord God of heaven has given me. And He has commanded me to build Him a house at Jerusalem which is in Judah. Ezra 1:2

The first 69 weeks of the timeline runs through and ends at “Messiah the Prince”.

Thus the restoration of the Temple in the time of Jesus is evident.

All the scriptures that pertain to this prophecy must be taken into account to determine God’s intent.

To think that restoring and building Jerusalem is just about the street and wall, falls way short of understanding God’s intent.

Once again, the scripture states nothing about a "Temple".

It clearly states "Wall & Street", if God intended any more that pertained to the 70 week, 490 day prophecy it would be written in Daniel 9:24-27

If you choose the believe that the 70 weeks prophecy pertains to 490 days and only encompasses rebuilding a street and wall then that’s on you. The prophecy itself reveals that Jerusalem was to be rebuilt which includes the city and sanctuary.

25 “Know therefore and understand,
That from the going forth of the command
To restore and build Jerusalem

There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;
The street shall be built again, and the wall,

The time frame of the first 69 weeks runs from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince.

Cyrus was king of Persia in the year 539 BC.

By the time Messiah the Prince came about Rome was the World ruling empire.

So your theory of the prophecy spanning 490 days doesn’t make sense.

The person who commanded the work to begin plainly revealed that God told him, Cyrus, to build Him a house.

That is the purpose, God Himself raised up Cyrus to be king to do.

Thus says Cyrus king of Persia:

All the kingdoms of the earth the Lord God of heaven has given me. And He has commanded me to build Him a house at Jerusalem which is in Judah. Ezra 1:2

Again

28 Who says of Cyrus, ‘He is My shepherd,
And he shall perform all My pleasure,
Saying to Jerusalem, “You shall be built,”
And to the temple, “Your foundation shall be laid.” ’
Thus says the Lord to His anointed,
To Cyrus, whose right hand I have held—
To subdue nations before him
And loose the armor of kings,
To open before him the double doors,
So that the gates will not be shut:
2 ‘I will go before you
And make the crooked places straight;
I will break in pieces the gates of bronze
And cut the bars of iron.
3 I will give you the treasures of darkness
And hidden riches of secret places,
That you may know that I, the Lord,
Who call you by your name,
Am the God of Israel.
13 I have raised him up in righteousness,
And I will [d]direct all his ways;
He shall build My city
And let My exiles go free,
Not for price nor reward,”
Says the Lord of hosts.
Isaiah 44:28-45:3,13

Cyrus was anointed by God and raised up for the very purpose of releasing the children of Israel back to the land the Lord had given them and restore the city of Jerusalem which includes the Temple as well as restoring to them the provision to do this very thing.

In addition Cyrus returned to them the articles to be used in the Temple.

King Cyrus also brought out the articles of the house of the Lord, which Nebuchadnezzar had taken from Jerusalem and put in the [d]temple of his gods; 8 and Cyrus king of Persia brought them out by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and counted them out to Sheshbazzar the prince of Judah. 9 This is the number of them: thirty gold platters, one thousand silver platters, twenty-nine knives, 10 thirty gold basins, four hundred and ten silver basins of a similar kind, and one thousand other articles. 11 All the articles of gold and silver were five thousand four hundred. All these Sheshbazzar took with the captives who were brought from Babylon to Jerusalem.
Ezra 1:7-11

Why would the children of Israel need the articles of the Temple if they were not working on restoring the Temple?
