Lewis,
I am hard put to believe you posted an Islamic link to justify Adultry. They also, in a number of the Arab countries belive that women are for heirs and young boys are for pleasure. You will think this rude but I am going to logically, according to the world we live in, extend this and in doing so, then, since Jesus didn't teach on anti-homosexuality, it is good for a man to do that...
wrong!
Lewis, the Christian Old Testament, the Jewish Bible is the Bible Jesus taught from and commented on. Now, here comes the difficult and it can be the slippery part. The first thirty-nine books of the Christian version of the Bible is the Bible and the remaining twenty-seven are the only God authorized Life Style Commentary on the Bible He commissioned to be written.
You have got to remember that the Old Testament in your Bible, if you are a God fearing Christian, is also the words of Jesus, just as much so as the red letter script is in most versions. The words in the New Testament of Jesus and the words of the thirteen books by Paul and the words in all the rest of the books are from jesus... so is every word of the Old Testament. (John 1:1-3) When Jesus, John, Paul and all the other New Testament writers commented, they commented on the Bible they had grown up with and their comments were on how to apply it.
When a man sleeps with another man's wife, she has another husband and if he is married, he has another wife, if he was not married before he is after the adultery. Jesus, the Creator, created Eve and He presented her to Adam and they lay down together and they were married.
When Isaac saw his future bride go in to His mother's tent, he went into her and they were married. When Jacob/Israel had drank the wine, he went into his bed and he slept with Leah and they were married. The license4 so many are thrilled with is a tax and God does not tax anyone. We have pushed God out of our lives to some extent in every facet of our lives and we must overcome that nasty habit.
