Many Christians are the biggest culprits.

Good morning. In one manor, yes, they are Christians but in the only manor that has any weight in Eternity, are they? We will never escape God and His Judgments. And as we live and as these plan to sin Matt. 7:21-23 is very important. As a musician I found no more perverse group of people in this world and group sex, adultery and all other perverse forms of the sex act are practiced. One of the Groupies, a male, that hung with the groups was registered with and actively attended the Church of Christ. He had a long line of "Church success stories" to tell and he did. My position on these people, most of the members of any Church Assembly is, they are in the right place to be saved but just as the Barna Group's Church Survey of the mid-eighties suggests, the Rapture could occur at 2am Sunday Morning and at 11am ninety-eight percent of the Membership Roll could be present for Worship Service.

I believe the truth will be unsettling.
 
I am a musician also' picked up a lot of bad habits being one. But anyway Christians commit adultery every second somewhere in the world. Even pastors fall down to it. Presidents fall down to it. The flesh is a unruly beast.

Yes, but scripture, clearly, teaches that rationalization is not an answer but will, rather send one to Hell instead of Heaven. When we follow the world/Satan we enjoy the fruits of our efforts. When we follow Jesus/God we enjoy eternity in Heaven seated at the Master's feet. It all comes down to who do we follow?

When we sin because we are snared, scripture teaches us to, immediately, repent and be forgiven. It does not ever teach us to plan our sin carefully to be unseen by the Master. All unrepented sinners will be condemned at the Great White Throne Judgment, even the men of the cloth pretenders.
 
All true but at the same time we, the followers, must lead by living the Law of God, as closely as we can manage, before we can affect this world.

As I have studied, since Jan. 1, 1990, I have been, personally, convicted that I, because I am saved, need to take all of the words of Jesus, as well as His actions, as the model I am to seek to live. There is forgiveness for failure but the guidance of the Holy Spirit has taught me that it matters if I try and it matters if I do not. Today, most members of the church do not, even, try. And it sticks in my mind, Matt. 7:21-23, and I never want to hear anything more than "Well done" from my Lord. I pray that is what all of us will hear.
Yeah, maybe I didn't word my post correctly? I agree with you completely and was trying to convey the same principle that I think you are. WE as Christians, need to live our lives by God's word as an example to the rest of the world as well as to be obedient to Him. Forgiveness is for when we mess up and fall short of that, NOT an excuse or license to sin. I'm not saying we are to become legalistic pharisees, but as you said, far too many people who consider themselves Christians don't even try!

I know what Scripture says about it, I am talking about the sinful nature of man and it is unrealistic to think that all Christians are going to follow the Bible to the letter. People are people some are going to cheat and some are not going to cheat. Christians do it' and they do it often around the world.
 
No, as it will be judged by God alone and not by that of mans judgement. God said that some were, but now washed in the blood of the Lamb and sanctified and justified before the Father.

The thing that I get from many Christians is that they think we should be perfect with no flaws or something. The thing is we are not perfect and we are flawed in some aspects within our lives. Christians do and will fall at times, now don't get me wrong some Christians will not commit adultery and some will. Some fall in love with someone other than their wife or their husbands. All kinds of things happen in the lives of a Christian. We are not of this world but we are still a part of this world.

Lewis, I'm sorry but that is a cop out that can and likely will end in Hell. In the first place I said nothing about living the Bible to the letter. My comments concerned exactly what you are demonstrating with you rationalization. You are accepting defeat without trying. God demands the attempt, not the success.

Here I go with my real life metaphors again but this is the perfect example. I was a senior crew chief in Vietnam and as such was eligible for SSG and, even without the rank increase, as Senior I never needed to fly. All of my pilots were 19 to 21 years of age, inexperienced. All I was required to do was to send my 18 to 20 year old Crew Chiefs and their young pilots off to go die each day and to be there all night with them as they repaired the Combat Damage so they would be ready to fly the next morning. That was the requirement.

I could never lead from behind and did not, that is why I can post Killer Spade 806 CE in my signature and never be challenged about it. If you were to blow my Avatar Photo up you would find my Crew Wings and my Federal Class, Air Medal, in miniature on my hat because I led by example. My men did not just try to emulate me, they did that but they also, without grumbling, did anything I told them to do because of the importance I placed on my duty.

If, and if so, when, you gave your life to Jesus, you were not, just, saved. Indeed, you became, not just another son of God, you became His Bond Servant, a slave. It was and it is the duty of a Bond Servant to fulfill any task given to him or her to the, very, best of their ability. God's children, His Bond Slaves, do not have the option to quiver mentally and not try. Just as I was scared to death every time my FM Radio made the tell tell sound that marked the tracking of a SAM Missal and just as I was scared out of my britches every time I watched the hundreds of tracers from a quad fifty and just as I knew we were dead every time I saw a B40 rocket flying at our Choppers and I did not let it stop me, so must the Servant of God go forward.

When I was 14 I trained to be a Carpenter. Had I the money and had I hired a few other 14 year olds, the house we would have built, if we had gotten it up, would have, surely, fallen down at the first thunder clap. When I finally sold the name, J&B Construction here in the local area, I was known as not just a very honest custom and track home carpenter, I bid on a job at top rate and beat the others out though they had bid as low as 20 percent lower than I had. I was known as the best man for the job because I began miserably, practiced, corrected and became the best.

Any honest follower of Jesus knows that they are just like me and you, we are sinners, forgiven but sinners. But we are commanded to "grow" in the faith, not to let Satan beat us down to useless.

I am looking at what is going on around me, life is life' I live in a big city Philly and much goes on here.

I'm not going to tell you that matters because I was born in and raised in Sin City, Texas... Houston. I was even saved on stage when performing at Porky's Bar. i and my wife no longer live there but the condition of sin around us has not changed. You, just, cannot allow your surroundings to defeat you but your words say that this is exactly what Satan is doing to you. I. also, was defeated with three ex-wives and more ex bed mates than I care to remember. I did not begin to live the victorious life until I stopped trying and just let God. It is actually much easier to do than you will ever believe except you surrender everything to God.
 
There will always be evil influences that surround us no matter where we live as Satan will always tempt us in order to try and steal our faith, 1Peter 5:8. I live out in the country, but yet temptations are there, but as long as you wake up every morning you need to crucify this flesh as it is weak, but the Spirit of God is strong, Matt 26:41. And, if and but are conjunctions that either shuts down the blessings of God or allows the blessings of God overflow us. When we learn to surrender all to Christ and let go and let God then we will remain walking on that straight and narrow path. The flesh is weak if we allow ourselves to get into it, as we all do at times, but Gods grace is sufficient in time of need, 2Corinthians 12:9. Grace does not give us a license to sin, but will forgive when we fall short.
 
Just hold on there' why are you putting my past life back up to the present. I still see Christians who were like me' go to church on Sunday and live like devils on Monday through Saturday, I lived that life style so I understand it. I still see it around me sometimes' but why are you calling me defeated.
