Should Women Preach ?

Wait a minute Gary... if it is rebellion for her to teach isn't rebellion for men to learn or set under her teaching.... Are they not just like Adam? He blamed eve...

Sorry Lewis W it this is a sorta hypothetical question :couch

Jesus stated that if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.
.

It's not a matter of liking or disliking her. She is, as others say, in rebellion. If someone is in rebellion, so is everyone that follows them.
.

Good observation Gary, right on! I said before, Joyce is a great teacher of women. WOMEN!, not men. And, you are right in that if men go to her conference, they are contributing to her rebellion, therefore they are in rebellion.

I get a little upset at preachers and teachers who are on TV, fleecing the flock so they can have a huge ministry, and teach prosperity. Of course they are well off, just look at the money they take in.

First you say this.

You say she is in rebellion and not abiding by the scriptures.

And then you say this.

If she's not abiding by the scriptures, how can you say she's one of the best woman teachers?

.

To Women Gary, to women! She is in rebellion when she allows men into her conferences. She is not in rebellion if she teaches only women! When she is involved in a woman's only ministry, she is a great teacher. The issue is men in her audience.

Any female pastor that has males in her congregation is not abiding by the scriptures. It doesn't matter how popular they are. Sin is sin and there is no partiality with God. Jesus said that not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Circumventing scripture is not the will of God.
.
I find it interesting that if a person falls in love with their neighbor's spouse, and it feels so right and good that it must be of God, they are told that they need to ignore their feelings and go with what the Bible says about it. But when a woman feels the urge to be a pastor and it feels so right and good that it must be of God, the Word of God gets changed/reinterpreted to rationalize their desire. :shrug:confused

Then you shouldn't be reading/buying her books either, because if she sells her books to men she'd commit rebellion.

Anyway, if she has some truth to teach wouldn't the refusal to listen to her (although knowing that her teachings are good and anointed, as you said before) because of her sex be kind of rigid? You'd miss out on some divine truth. Truth is independent of the person speaking it.

That's a good point Claudya, I have thought about that. About the only thing that I can say is; if I go to one of her conferences that would be a primary wrong. If I buy her book and read it that would be secondary, and not the same, I think. I really don't know. The Scripture says what it says, and I should abide by it and not go, or read, period.

You know allenwynne made one of the best comments. He said something like this....if a man won't step up and fill a position God will make the rocks cry out or a donkey speak.

Chopper can you tell me of one ministry for men or one author for men who talks about things Joyce Meyer talks about? Because I can't think of one.

One can be guilty of adultery just for thinking. Hating someone equates to murder.

How rigid is that?

Not in the way Joyce presents it. She is an extremely anointed teacher for women, period. I have always liked, I can't think of his first name but his last name is Jeremiah. He's very good. Opps, I just remembered, It's David Jeremiah.

David Jeremiah does not talk about child abuse and especially not sexual child abuse.
Joyce lived it !
How well could someone say forgive our abuser when they have no idea what that takes?
Was David Jeremiah ever divorced, does he know what that is like?
Just what kind of trials like these can he speak about from experience?
Did he grow up going to bed each night waiting for the terror to come in the night?

There are somethings that only experience can speak to. And because people see what she had been able to overcome with the Lord they are encourage in their own lives that may not have ever been as horrifying as hers.

I like him and get his mailer.

Deb, you are correct in your evaluation of Joyce. There is no one like her, or even close, and that's what makes her a great Spiritual teacher. I'm not in conflict with anything you're saying. I wish she had stuck with her earlier commitment to teach only women. that's my only problem with her.

I understand that.
But what I am saying is who can men go to that are teaching or preaching with the same ministry?
If there is no man will God use a woman where there is a need?

Deborah had rule and judgement over men in the OT. God raised her up and those years were good ones for Israel. Why did God do that?
