do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man;
over a man is the key.

do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man;
Yes, one in Christ in regard to salvation and access to God (the law discriminated according to sex)."There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female—for all of you are one in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:28
i believe scriptures yes you when your brought in denom that was against him... i am ordained gen baptist but i dont live breather eat gen baptist. i preach the word for the most i am a loner everyone is wired different .. many think all baptist are the same. they are not all the sameDo you believe if a born again Christian does sin, that he. or she can be forgiven their sin?
Or do you believe like Hopeful, that no born again Christian ever sins one time in his life, otherwise he was never really born again?
Then neither is God the head of Christ, and Christ the head of man.No he isn't. "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female—for all of you are one in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:28
So, are the commandments Paul wrote to various Christian churches not relevant today? Or are they not relevant to jaybo's type of churches?
Oz
Then neither is God the head of Christ, and Christ the head of man.
1 Corinthians 11:3
3 the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
Vary nice attitude -- not! Is that the usual attitude that you have in God's house: my way or the highway?I used to instantly resist going to a church that presented the man and his wife as 'pastors' of their church. But, with the state of things in the church today I'm making allowances for it. But if it comes down to obeying the supposed authority of the woman, I will not. And if they don't like it they can show me the door.
God's way in not a woman pastor.Vary nice attitude -- not! Is that the usual attitude that you have in God's house: my way or the highway?
Really? Is that where your mind is?Yes, one in Christ in regard to salvation and access to God (the law discriminated according to sex).
Using your logic churches need not spend the extra money on putting two bathrooms, one for men, one for women, in their new church building project.
Neither am I.Off topic. We are not talking about the gifts of the Spirit.
I don't know where you see women mentioned there, but I don't disagree.Additionally:-
The New Testament makes it plain that Christian women, like men, have been given spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:7-11).
Agreed.Women, like men, are to use these gifts to minister to the body of Christ (1 Peter 4:10);
As a foot cannot see, and an eye cannot walk, we know that not every part of the body is qualified to do every task of ministry.their ministries are indispensable to the life and growth of the church (1 Corinthians 12:12-26).
Agreed, and thanks to the grace of God they can do those ministries without usurping authority over men.There are many examples in the New Testament of just such ministries on the part of gifted Christian women (see Chapter 5 in this volume). To be true to the New Testament, then, the contemporary church needs to honor those varied ministries of women and to encourage women to pursue them.
If a woman desires to serve the Lord, she will do it in accordance to the Lord's apostles.Each person who is called by Jesus Christ, is accountable to Him.
Whether man or woman.
If a woman is single and desires to serve God in purity and devotion then how is that usurping authority over a man?
Christianity has been called worse.This is where your denominational doctrine has developed a mindset in you that can’t see the forest for the trees.
When apple seeds can bring forth figs or melons, then those born of God's seed can lie, steal commit adultery and kill each other.Its the same mindset that says “a Christian can not be forgiven of a sin, because if he does sin, he was never a born again Christian to begin with”.
"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." (1 John 1:7)Im not “attacking” anything.
Im indicating some unbiblical “ideas“ that are in his mindset, because I have discussed extensively these things with him in the past.
For instance -
Do you believe if a born again Christian does sin, that he. or she can be forgiven their sin?
Or do you believe like Hopeful, that no born again Christian ever sins one time in his life, otherwise he was never really born again?
If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us. 1 John 1:8-10
My mind is that God still recognizes male and female in regard to function in the church, but not in regard to membership in the church.Really? Is that where your mind is?
No, it's God's way or the highway. The only allowances or compromises being in special and dire situations.Vary nice attitude -- not! Is that the usual attitude that you have in God's house: my way or the highway?
I agree that it is total nonsense to decide that the part about man being head of woman in the passage is changed while the rest of the order of headship listed in the passage remains. 1 Corinthians 11:3Total nonsense!
I showed you that the reason for what Paul wrote was based on creation, not on the culture of his day.What Paul wrote as instructions to the churches was relevant in the context of the 1st Century, when society, particularly the roles of men and women, was very different than it is today.
When apple seeds can bring forth figs or melons, then those born of God's seed can lie, steal commit adultery and kill each other.
Those reborn of God don't commit sin. (1 John 3:9-10)

Great! Stay away!I showed you that the reason for what Paul wrote was based on creation, not on the culture of his day.
1 Timothy 2:12-14
12I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man;c she is to remain quiet. 13For Adam was formed first, and then Eve. 14And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman who was deceived and fell into transgression.
It's simply not a cultural issue. It's an order of headship issue determined from creation.
It doesn't matter anyway because people who can see this plain truth in scripture won't submit themselves to the pastoral, supposedly authoritative teaching of a woman. It's that simple. You can have all the women led churches you want. Me and a lot of other people just aren't going to attend them.
