Don't let the Jews (and others who believe the Old Covenant) know that they are worshiping "the 2nd person of the Trinity". BTW, when Jesus taught people to pray, He taught them "Our Father...I am not differentiating
JESUS IS GOD.
If someone is worshipping God, they are also worshipping the 2nd person of the Trinity.
If someone, however, rejects the 2nd person of the Trinity, they are rejecting God.
What's your point?Don't let the Jews (and others who believe the Old Covenant) know that they are worshiping "the 2nd person of the Trinity". BTW, when Jesus taught people to pray, He taught them "Our Father...
Matthew 6:9, "So pray this way: Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored..."
As He was addressing Jews, my answer is yes.So you believe this teaching in Luke 15:4-7 is about Jews?
I'm not sure I understand your first sentence.Don't let the Jews (and others who believe the Old Covenant) know that they are worshiping "the 2nd person of the Trinity". BTW, when Jesus taught people to pray, He taught them "Our Father...
Matthew 6:9, "So pray this way: Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored..."
There is only one way to God.What are some other ways to God besides Jesus Christ?

Matthew, Mark, John, Peter, Paul, James, Andrew, Thomas, and many more of the early believers and disciples were all Jews. In fact, Gentiles were excluded from being part of the Body of Christ until Paul received his commission.I'm not sure I understand your first sentence.
The Jews were offered the 2nd Person. They turned Him down. I've stated that rejecting Jesus is rejecting God because He is God.
JayboMatthew, Mark, John, Peter, Paul, James, Andrew, Thomas, and many more of the early believers and disciples were all Jews. In fact, Gentiles were excluded from being part of the Body of Christ until Paul received his commission.
So your statement that the Jews turned down Christ is diametrically opposite from the actual facts.
But you did reply! Your anti-Semitic statement that the Jews turned down Christ is diametrically opposite from the actual facts. The first disciples of Jesus were all Jews not Gentiles.¹

The above deserves no reply.
I'm not here to play games but to speak about God and His word with others.
That is not true. But you did reply! Your anti-Semitic statement that the Jews turned down Christ is diametrically opposite from the actual facts. The first disciples of Jesus were all Jews not Gentiles.
Likewise, I'm not here to play games but to speak the truth about God and His word with others.
There is only one way to God.
God, the creator, must be sought and honored/worshipped.
Buddha is not the creator.
Muhammad is not the creator.
God has always revealed Himself to man.
This is made plain and clear in Romans 1
Romans 1:18-21
For (AJ)the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who (AK)suppress the truth [m]in unrighteousness, 19 because (AL)that which is known about God is evident [n]within them; for God made it evident to them. 20 For (AM)since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, (AN)being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21 For even though they knew God, they did not [o]honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became (AO)futile in their reasonings, and their senseless hearts were darkened
As He was addressing Jews, my answer is yes.
Please keep the context of my initial comment in mind.
To me this goes back to the Calvinist concepts of the visible church and the invisible church. Clearly the visible church is in bad shape. The invisible church the body of Christ is what matters most.
you might want to read what the Westminster says, its the visible church on the earth ,the invisible are those that died .To me this goes back to the Calvinist concepts of the visible church and the invisible church. we quoted that when ken died from covid, evidence of how he lived and it was clear he believed .we have communion with them ,its quoted in doxology
And that works perfectly for the OT Jewish faith when men were still walking in the flesh instead of in the Spirit.Of course He was addressing Jews, as His Disciples were Jews.
He was teaching His Disciples how to deal with a brother, one of His sheep, who sins and wanders away.
He taught them to go after them and try to turn them back.
If by "church" you mean synagogue or temple...fine.Its about the church working together as a body to deal with a brother who sins.
Sinners don't follow Jesus, ergo, are not His sheep.Matthew's version brings clarity -
What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.
Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector. Matthew 18:12-17
Its about His Church.

I am in no wise against trying to urge those who depart from the NT church to come to a real repentance from sin and join with the faithful who do follow the Good Shepherd.
I still pray for those who have left the church, in hope they will someday return.
