Bible Study Taking Back

God will only bless those that are truly his and send curses to those who are not Deuteronomy chapters 27,28.

With examples all throughout the Old Testament! We must, receive Him into our heart and lifestyle, and abide in Him. Then only is He able to bless us or answer our prayers. Praying fervently, from the heart as if we are speaking with a close friend. This is why most people do not get prayers answered. They may speak a short canned prayer that they know and use a lot. This isn't how one talks to their intimate friend.

I invite Jesus to go with me everywhere. It's the whole, Peter walked on water until he took his eyes off of Jesus...then he began sinking immediately. No wonder it says, pray unceasingly! :pray

Romans 8:26 And in like manner the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity: for we know not how to pray as we ought; but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered;

Yes it says to pray in the Spirit and with understanding. 1 john 5:14 And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:
15 and if we know that he heareth us whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
1 Corinthians. 14: 14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

When we pray In the Spirit, we can learn how to pray as we should by listening to what the Spirit is praying.

Really? You really believe that? Guess the scripture wasn't explicit enough for you!
I need not read into something that is not stated in facts. Yes, Jesus was angry, but not for the fact of the money changers, but that they were merchandising on the Temple grounds. How would we know if any of them actually after being ran out by Jesus might have later followed after Him and we converted.

John 2:15
So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.

I don't ever get when people argue Jesus was not violent against the money changers. As if that would be wrong of him, who as the Father killed many persons because they transgressed his law. How would Jesus not be entitled to have a temper when he was the son of man, as well as God.

Do I unconditionally love the pedophile that use to be my neighbor with a free daycare for residents of the complex?
Love no matter what? No, where is the passage in God's word that tells me to do that?
God is love. And yet he sent the rains that submerged all the world over a 40 day span of time. Killing everything because humans were unrighteous .
He sent the destruction upon Sodom and Gomorrah. And of course, he opened Hell to receive the souls of unrepentant people after having created the fiery pit for Satan and his angels.
Yet, God is love.
I'm going to answer this with a question and then later reply to your response.
Should I hate a murderer, even if they killed my family, or should I forgive them and witness Christ to them?

There is nothing that leads me to believe Jesus did not physically attack or harm anyone. We just plain ol dont know.... But i would ask why bother the make the whip when flipping the tables would have done the job?
I think/believe He wacked'em .
We have this modern idea of assault....
Mat_10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
I agree we do not know and it could be possible Jesus made the whip as a show of force possibly.

I agree we do not know and it could be possible Jesus made the whip as a show of force possibly as He was taking back the Temple from those who were desecrating it.

The discussion of women Pastors and whether Jesus went to preach in hell are good discussions, but have nothing to do with the OP. Can we get back to the topic, TY.

Well, for-his-glory, He did know the hearts of men. Math. 15:8 [1] This people honoreth me with their lips; But their heart is far from me.*n3 Mark 3: 5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved at the hardening of their heart, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he stretched it forth; and his hand was restored.
Luke 9: 47 But when Jesus saw the reasoning of their heart, he took a little child, and set him by his side,*
Like 24:38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and wherefore do questionings arise in your heart?

That was for the sake of "( whatgoesthere). You need not jump in on that conversation (for-his=glory) unless you would like a new thread on the subject......?

I'm going to answer this with a question and then later reply to your response.
Should I hate a murderer, even if they killed my family, or should I forgive them and witness Christ to them?

You should understand, " that they know not what they do!" As jesus.

I'm sure there would be more we could do as Christians. Love more, give more, feed the hungry, search the word.
As a nation we have Evangelized the world and the first to help out.
God has blessed us to do so, and the technology through the years, the engineering has been like none other.
But the world is fixed in their heart the scriptures say.
As you know there is nothing wrong with the gospel, the message men give off about the gospel can become twisted but you cannot change the gospel.
The scripture that I thought about is in 1 Cor. 2:5-9,
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Understanding who the princes of this world are? They were the religious leaders of Jesus day. The same thing operates today. There is a wisdom that only the Father gives, Paul said it is hidden from the minds of men.
Religious leaders today have the same problem as has always existed, they can only take a believer so far.
Preachers, teachers so forth are ordained of God, some are good and some not so good, doesn't matter.
Look at the good, they, as good as they are, can only take a believer so far. It takes the HolySpirit to reveal the things of God to an individual.
So there remains, for the believer, the hidden mystery of God to be revealed. In the mystery of God is the wisdom of God.

I agree as there is only so much one individual can do in nourishing others teaching them the ways of God, but many Pastors do not teach of the operations of the Holy Spirit as they have never been taught themselves. Gods word only remains a mystery to those who do not fully seek Him and usually ends with "I'm a good person". Yes, it's good to be a good person, but to be a good Spiritually born again Christian is to continue in the works of the Lord as described in Matthew 25:34-40. We know this world will never change as many are lovers of self, but when we let that light of Christ shine through us instead of hiding it under a bush we can help change many lives by being that light of Christ to a hurting world.

This is my thread I started and I only ask that we stay on topic and I would appreciate it if it was discussed in another thread as it has nothing to do with the OP. Thank you.

You should understand, " that they know not what they do!" As jesus.
A murderer with the intent to kill knows what they are doing so should I forgive them for killing my family and try to witness Christ to them or should I just consider them unworthy of Gods love.

Jesus was angry with them for desecrating the Temple and drove them out, but yet I would think Jesus would still love them and hope that they would turn back to God.

Yes, our focus has to always be on Christ as He comes first before everything in our life. This is how we stay in Gods will as we communicate with Him and He leads our path. It's when it becomes our will that we are no longer giving God any glory.

I said, how would we know if any of those money changes might have turned back to God after possibly hearing what Jesus taught. I know only God knows the intents of the heart.
