The Derailing Thread

I forget.
I bought a wine from Avillino that won awards but forget the name of it.
It's something I can't buy over here.

See. Professor Google knows everything.
Is it one of these?:
There are three great DOCG wines from the province of Avellino:'Fiano', 'Taurasi' and 'Greco di Tufo'. The last of the three might be the most familiar but both the Fiano and the Taurasi are superb.

'Greco di Tufo' is the most ancient of the grape varieties and was originally imported to Italy by the Greeks from Thessalia and by the Pelasgi.

There even exists a fresco in Pompei dating from 100BC featuring an ode to the wine, while a local legend recalls how William of Vercelli once transformed water into wine at the hamlet of Bonito in the province.

So, a wine of rare class and personality whose qualities contrast spectacularly with the ruggedness of the Irpinia hills.

The grapes were first grown on the slopes of Vesuvius where today the wine is sold under the name 'Lacryma Christi'.

'Fiano di Avellino' has covered the hills of Irpinia since the Samnites were masters and rulers. Unlike, the ancient inhabitants, this wine is subtle, dry and suited to light pasta and fish.

'Taurasi' is a full bodied red and ideal for seasoned cheeses and meats. It has been a great wine since the days of classical Greece and is still in demand. It must be aged and is made from the Aglianco grape.

That all sounds familiar.
All I can say is this winery had several class winners in 2007 and was regularly imported to the presidential palace.

I can believe that it was imported to the presidential palace.

And probably a lot of it.
It shows in how this government is run.
Like, as if they drink a lot of wine.
any kind, from anywhere.
Doesn't have to even be the best...

Who am I?

Time to go visit my 93yo neighbour and say hi. All she does is sit by herself and count cars all day. I have compassion for her. She tells me off for having big party's when all I do is sit on the deck and listen to soft music and she blasts her music full volume. Lol.
