The Derailing Thread

I worry about inadvertent reposting all the time, as the brain injury damaged my short-term memory. And no, I am not going to repost this post in a vain attempt at cleverness.

Lol!

No you have never double posted. Not once that I've seen.

Makeup is so deceiving! This video is really interesting because they look more real without their makeup. I think they look better without it. I wear eye liner, shadow, and mascara. I don't bother with anything else.

KevinK do you have native speakers that you practice with?
Not really. No-one near me speaks Japanese. My father hasn't used it since he was about 5, and my mother is Chinese. I have two close friends who live in Japan. One is native, but we converse almost exclusively in English, and the other moved there from Hawaii, knows about as much as me.

Along with the study materials I have a Japanese grammar book and a eng-Japanese dictionary.

If you want to say things to me, you can. I'll figure it out someway or another. (and lord willing I will try to find a way to respond.)

Ichiban suki na eiga wa Staa Woozu desu. Anata wa?

The first favorite name movie total is
Hmmmm... Staa woozu...
Are you saying...
Your first and favorite movie series is Star Wars????

Oh I forgot anata wa...hold on

Watashi (my) suki (favorite) is The Last Unicorn

How would that sentence be arranged?

In this case ichiban means "best" and modifies suki na "liked", so ichiban suki na means "best liked" or "favorite". So yes, the Force is with your translation.

I would probably say Watashi no ichiban suki na no wa The Last Unicorn desu. Note that the watashi no ("my") is optional, as it is assumed you are talking about your favorite.
