The Derailing Thread

Has anyone here tried this recipe?

enhanced-buzz-9329-1389214671-1.jpg

6 medium bananas
1/4 cup lemon juice
6 thin slices boiled ham (about 1/2 lb)
3 tablespoons prepared mustard
2 envelopes (1 1/4-oz size) hollandaise sauce mix
1/4 cup light cream
1. Preheat oven to 400F. Lightly butter 2-quart, shallow baking dish.

2. Peel bananas; sprinkle each with 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice, to prevent darkening.

3. Spread ham slices with mustard. Wrap each banana in slice of ham. Arrange in single layer in casserole. Bake 10 minutes.

4. Meanwhile, make sauce: In small saucepan, combine sauce mix with 1 cup water, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and cream. Heat, stirring, to boiling; pour over bananas. Bake 5 minutes longer, or until slightly golden. Nice with a green salad for brunch or lunch. Makes 6 servings.

A couple of the anime I've watched are actually based off visual novels* which were rated for adults due to porn in some parts. The anime adaptions don't have that, though; they were specifically made to be more family-friendly.

*Like a video game book with illustrations every page and interactive in that your choices decide the outcome.

An interactive adult novel? Wow, the mind boggles how it might work...

(A bit confused...)

Blessings.

Hi peeps.
Not only did was I able to get Thousand Foot Krutch band members' autograph on the album of their's I bought at Winter Jam, I also got the Newsong band members to autograph my JamNation pass.

TFK was cool at Winter Jam. They didn't get the crowd pumped up as much as the other bands (guess they aren't as well-known, Skillet a couple of years ago was the finishing act and the whole place was jumping when they were on), but I was standing there throwing up my rawk fist anyway. Whoo!

I also wanted to buy a Tenth Avenue North album (I like them a lot and think they did a better job performing that night than TFK, TBH), but didn't have enough money left.
(And no farouk, Tenth Avenue North isn't hard rock.:wave They're more pop-ish. Newsong isn't hard rock, either.)

Sounds like you enjoyed Winter Jam, then...

(How about your mom, did she, too?)

Blessings.

Haha, well don't expect me to go into details.

One of my favorite anime, Clannad, was originally a visual novel. But not an "X" rated one. (Although it was made by the same company that made the X rated ones.) I've watched some walkthroughs of a version that was translated into English by fans.
It was basically static images with a little text ont bottom and you click to continue reading. At parts you choose between two ortree options. The choices you make can lead to bad endings. You have to choose the correct path in order to advance the story the way it's supposed to go.

I would have thought, anyway, that you would have been into anime for the art and the music, rather than for the risqué parts...

Blessings.

...just the bowlderized videos, right? ...
No.
None of the anime series I watch have X-rated content to begin with. Although there ARE very good reasons it's rated for teens.
The only bowdlerized anime I know of these days is aired on children's TV networks. Or dubbed by 4Kids.
I don't care for bowdlerized anime. But I have standards.

I'm sure you choose well, which ones to watch, anyway.

I guess also that X-rated in the US would not necessarily be the same as X-rated in Japan. (In Japan they are very polite; a policeman might say: Would your honor please accompany me to our humble police station... etc.)

Blessings.

Japan does have a higher standard of politeness that the US, but you might be surprised what's in some of the anime series. As I said, very good reasons the ones I watch are rated for teens: violence, the type of humor, profanity, etc. I might watch one rated mature, depending on why it's rated mature.
Japan seems to have a history of rather weird and creepy things in their culture, too.

Yes, well I suppose mature there and mature in North America would also differ somewhat.

Some things are just cultural, anyway, and not necessarily bad objectively.

Blessings.

If you could sleep with your eyes open, you're boss would never have to know.

There must have been some hard rock, though, I guess, at Winter Jam...
