The "I HATE NOTRE DAME!" thread.

YYYESSS!!!

Owen Marecic , of the Stanford Cardinals scored twice against Notre Dame today--thirteen seconds apart! The Associated Press reporst " (AP)—Owen Marecic enjoyed his trip to the end zone so much, he wasted no time getting back."

Marecic, one of the few players to play both offense and defense, scored on a run and interception return 13 seconds apart Saturday, helping No. 16 Stanford to a 37-14 victory over Notre Dame..."

The victory was only Stanford’s third in South Bend, and first since 1992. And the Cardinal have now won two in a row against Notre Dame (1-3), a first in a series that dates to the 1925 Rose Bowl.

...The loss also was Notre Dame’s 11th straight against Top 25 teams, with five of those coming at home."

Maybe Notre Dame's coach should start looking for a better team that he can desert to.

The rankings are out, and Notre Dame did not receive a single vote.

To my surprise and relief, Penn State moved up one place to #22.

Penn State has nothing on Notre Dame in its legacy or its prestige. They get kicked around by Iowa year after year

And this year too! The snot beat out of them, they got! Iowa owns Penn State! :-)

And a victory for ND at Boston College! MSU and UM winning and undefeated heading into next week's game. It's a great weekend so far!
:thumbsup

Noooooooooo!

Notre Dame won. Noooooooooo!

After losing three straight games, Notre Dame finally found someone they could beat. Noooooooo!

And after a 24-3 shelllacking by Iowa, Penn State may well lose its ranking this week.

Well, it could have been worse.

Notre Dame did not receive a single ranking vote.
Penn State is now #36 (only the top 25 teams are "ranked"), the first time since 2007 that Penn State has been unranked.

weep wail Notre Dame won again. But they didn't receive a single ranking vote.

And Penn State...I choke waah would rather not talk about it.

For the second week in a row, Notre Dame has beaten an unranked team, and for the second week in a row has failed to get a single ranking vote.

Coach Brian Kelly is getting them established as a mediocre team, but even in victory over mediocre teams, the Irish are just not impressing anybody that they are a good team.

Now 4-3, Notre Dame faces Navy next week. A few years ago, Notre Dame's notoriously bad "Dream team" snapped the longest wining streak in the NCAAF when they lost to Navy. They'll be some grudges to settle next week.

I hate to see the trend of college football in playing easier schedules to play to the BCS, and I don't like to see ND following suit. They'll make easy work of the rest of their scheduled opponents and mop up Navy & Air Force. The only question in my mind is USC.

In the end, they'll qualify for a solid bowl game! More fun... er, angst, for you! Why? BECAUSE AMERICA LOVES TO WATCH THEM SOME IRISH!!!

I'm really looking forward to the Notre Dame-Navy game. That will be some tough playing with real motivation on both sides.

A BIG game this Saturday (October 23, 2010) will be Navy (4-2) vs. Notre Dame (4-3). Three years ago, Navy snapped the longest losing streak in NCAA history when they finally beat Notre Dame. Notre Dame won the next year, and Navy won last year.

The once-great Fighting Irish are struggling along, with Navy, in a sea of mediocre teams. With neither team receiving any ranking votes for a while, Notre Dame is unofficially ranked #41, while Navy is unofficially ranked #53. There's a lot of pride and honor involved in this match, Folks.

ND with a great drive but could punch it in. Navy with easy work 99 yards for a TD. Not much defense gonna be a part of this game.

Excuses time:
Riddick and Floyd out with injuries.

Shouldn't make a difference, and doesn't make a difference on Defense.:bigfrown

Navy beats Notre Dame again 35-17
By RALPH D. RUSSO, AP College Football Writer 3 minutes ago

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP)—Ricky Dobbs scored three touchdowns and Alexander Teich ran for 210 yards to lead Navy to its third victory against the Fighting Irish in the last four seasons, a 35-17 rout on Saturday at the New Meadowlands Stadium.

The 84-year old series, which Notre Dame (4-4) once owned like no other in college football history, now belongs to Navy (5-2).

In 2007, the Midshipmen snapped their NCAA record 43-game losing streak to Notre Dame with a 46-44 win in overtime at South Bend, Ind. Last year, Navy did it again, winning 23-21 at Notre Dame Stadium, the first of four straight losses that ended the Charlie Weis era.

These were the type of losses Notre Dame faithful figured would stop when Brian Kelly was hired as coach. Instead, it was the Irish’s most lopsided loss against Navy since 1963.

Well, Folks, this isn't the Notre Dame Dream Team, BUT

The Midshipmen ran for 367 yards, the most ever by Navy against Notre Dame, and Alexander Teich carried 26 times to become the first fullback in school history to rush for 200 in a game. This is the third Navy class in the history of the Academy to beat Notre Dame three times. It was Notre Dame's worst loss to Navy in 47 years.

It's over! Just minutes ago unranked Tulsa beat Notre Dame 28-27!

For those of you who don't understand why a one-point loss is such a disaster, Tulsa is not an NCAAF team. To be fair, they are one of the better minor league teams this year.

Tulsa stuns Notre Dame 28-27
By RICK GANO, AP Sports Writer

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP)—G.J. Kinne raced to the end zone, grabbed a baton and began conducting the Tulsa band. The celebration was on at Notre Dame Stadium after the Golden Hurricane pulled off one the biggest wins in school history.

Kinne completed two long late passes to set up a go-ahead field goal by Kevin Fitzpatrick and John Flanders’ end zone interception sealed the upset with 36 seconds left Saturday, giving Tulsa a stunning 28-27 win.

“I’ve never been a part of anything like that. It was an awesome feeling,†Kinne said, describing the locker room after the victory—Tulsa’s first over a BCS team since 1998, a win that snapped a 19-game losing streak in those games.

:shrug Well, after a period of doubt that my Irish will ever be among the elite once more, I came to have faith that at long last, the ship had been righted. Apparently, my feelings of Notre Dame's return to glory were greatly exaggerated.

They're horrible. There's a league-wide disease of bad defense in college football this year, and Notre Dame is lead that pack. :bigfrown

I'll tell you what I think, Mike. Coach Brian Kelly needs to desert them and go to a better team.

Notre Dame didn't play this week, so I'll remind everyone that trailing 21-0 at half time, Penn State beat Northwester 35-21. It is the 400th win for Coach Joe Paterno. Two minor league college football coaches have more wins than he does.

I'll tell you what I think, Mike. Coach Brian Kelly needs to desert them and go to a better team.

Not sure if this is a shot at ND or Kelly in reference to him leaving Cincinnati. Probably both. I've had my say on Kelly leaving Cinci, so I'll ignore that connotation and focus on ND. HE'S HAD ONE YEAR WITH A BANGED UP PROGRAM!! As always, a coach needs to put his own players on the field to judge him. Yeah, they're horrible, which will make it all the more painful for you when they beat Navy. :D
