The ideal church will feed me what I want every Sunday morning.
The ideal church will have great worship music that I like.
The ideal church won't demand money from me.
The ideal church will believe what I believe.
The ideal church will tell me what a great guy I am.
The ideal church will provide a ministry for me that I want to do when I want to do it.
Yes, the ideal church will do all these things.

Isn't that what Christianity should be?

A good church really will feed God's sheep.

The ideal church will have great worship music that I like.
A good church will have spiritual worship, and is not to be measured by 'great' or personally enjoyable music.

The ideal church won't demand money from me.
Neither will a good church.

The ideal church will believe what I believe.
If they know what's good for them, lol.

A good church will tell you what a great guy you are.....if you really are one. And won't lie to you if you aren't.

A good church will make room for the exercise of personal gifts according to the faith of the individual exercising those gifts.

A local church is like a ship that is crewed by officers and rating from a formerly sinful background...

(Imagine a McCarthy-style committee interrogator to church members: Are you now or have you ever been a sinner?...)

Blessings.

or have tattoos.

I wholeheartedly agree. For example, in Acts 20 at Ephesus there were evidently various ones who exercised teaching and caring gifts within the local church.

Blessings.

Presumably, also, a Biblically based local church will be teaching a body of Scriptural doctrine which will, among other things, stir the conscience.

"As all fall short of the Glory "it stands to reason that if ordinary believers are not perfect then it follows that there is no such thing as a perfect church.
As I interpret the learned Rick Warren from his book "Purpose Driven Life".

kiwidan,
I was doing drugs, drinking Teachers and milk for breakfast and singing at the real Porky's Bar when the Holy Spirit over came me and I was called out of the world. On top of that I have seven tats, I wish I had never gotten.

The cool thing is that when they found out that God had given me the gift of a voice, they seated me in the choir... so they could keep a watchful eye on me? :-) And when the LORD called me to teach, He also told the Pastor, Brother Clark to give me the First through third grade class, that I would be grounded in the Basics of Christianity before making to large a fool of myself.

Folks that are "perfect" worry the day lights out of me. Although I have been banned from a couple of web sites by perfect people because they understood that God had erred in His dictation of the scriptures and I refused to believe that.

The Admin and the Mods here are very good folks here. And, it seems they are like me, a sinner trying to get well.

Tony,
Be careful with that book. I was a member of one rapidly growing Church Family when the son of our pastor introduced his dad to the book and Rick Warren.

As soon as he began to follow Rick, God remove the Candle Stand from our church and it exists no more. And Rick has said, several times, that there are many paths to Heaven, once on the Larry King show. God may forgive him but I can not trust his writings.

Yeah, that's what it should be. :-) Feed me coffee and cookies every sunday morning after the service, have a heavy metal worship band and tell each other how much they love each other despite their flaws and give people room to grow into responsibility and knowledge of their spiritual gifts. :thumbsup
What could be wrong with that?
