The image of God and the soul of man

Some believe that made in God's image was that we have an eternal soul. Could be,however I believe that Adam was created Righteous in that he was innocent and pure, perfect if you will, but then fell and became imperfect, therefore Christ had to come and reconcile us back to God by making us in His image again. The bible states that Christ is the express image of God,Christ stated, when you see me you have seen the Father.
See Col.1:15, 3:10 Eph 4:24

I have a question. If Adam was perfect how did he have the ability to fall? It seems his disobedience was a sign of imperfection. Could you elaborate please? Remember which forum this is and apply the rules appropriately.

Scripture does not say that Adam was created perfect; it says he was created "good." (As was all of creation.)
"Imperfection" came with sin which was the result of the improper exercise of his will when the devil conned him into disobedience.

my 2 kopecks

Sure. There was no sin. Where there is no sin, there HAS to be perfection. Like the example I used in another post....When a baby is brought into the world,he knows no sin, that child is perfect all the way up to the age of accountability. That is why we can be sure if they die in that state,Heaven is their home. Sin brought death into the world, until Adam sinned,he was perfect.
Christ is perfect because he never sinned. But what if He had, then what? Remember He was tempted way more than us.

That's opinion unless you can support it with scripture, so it doesn't support your perfect Adam theory which also wasn't supported with scripture. While I lean toward God's Grace for children who don't yet have the capacity to internalize the Gospel, it is not directly stated in scripture.

Hi Mike
The word of God is not confined between the covers of the Bible. There are things(such as God's Grace for Children)that are just known with out Scripture. I guess I should add this MY belief.

This is the Theology forum where we express what we believe and why we believe it. The why part should be able to be supported by Scripture.

Joseph,
God has stated 3 or 4 times in scripture that we are never to add to nor to retract from His revelation of Himself lest we call down the worst punishment we should think of. The frost verse I recall is Duet, 4:2 and the last is at the end of Rev 22. Sunday I read over the other two but with this dumb disease I have difficulty retaining them.

One thing that is absolute in this world is, "If it says it in the Bible, it is true," and that being true the inverse is also true. If it is not stated of God in His own Word, it is not true.

And God has warned us that Satan will present himslef as an Angel of Light, just like Jesus. I am saying what God has said in the scriptures when I tell you, if it is not found in the Bible, it is not true,
