  • Focus on the Family

    Strengthening families through biblical principles.

Focus on the Family addresses the use of biblical principles in parenting and marriage to strengthen the family.

The move away from Legalism..

And I would like to add that Christians are Jesus' followers. I never understood the people who downplays about following His teachings. It seems that they do not even understand what they are. If we do not appreciate what He is teaching then why do we even bother to call ourselves Christians?

Slandering gospel-keepers is the oldest of all SDA tricks. Don't fall for it. Romans 3:8

I will give my personal testimony about SDA. I am very nit picky about selecting church and pastors. I have been very open mind to hear everyone who trys to be obedient to His teachings and commands. Doug Bachelor educated my family about the truth about the Sabbath and I could not find anything wrong about his information. So my family swiched Sabbath to Saturday instead of Sunday.

And Doug Bachelor never tries to please his congregation. All he wants to do is to lead them to be obedient to His teachings and commands. I believe he is doing super job as a spiritual leader IMHO. I wish we have more pastors like him.

All I have problem with SDA is that I am strong anty-military.

You need to read the bible to see what's wrong with the SDA teachings about the Sabbath, paritcularly Hebrews 4:1-9, not check it out with your friends. :)

I have been reading the Bible every day and we have vast difference in our understandings of it. Good day Heidi.

But when you put on those SDA colored glasses..your awareness of what the Bible says will be clouded.

I was not a SDA member and never knew about them when I started to pay attention to them. Most of what they taght about Jesus and His disciples teachings were about the same as my understandings. I just never knew about the Sabbath because I did not understand the exact meaning of Sabbath. English is not my main language.

The only problem I have with them is their understanding of "love your enemy".

Japanese. I hope you don't use it against my understanding of the Bible. I hope you don't go that low.

I am not a SDA member but from what I have researched, they are the most effective and fruitful denomination. We have to watch out when we persecute faithful Christians! I understand that many churchgoers and pastors call faithful and obedient ones "legalists". How warped. It is just absurd! We hardly have faithful Christians and we gang attak them when we have the chance. It seems that they want to keep people from being faithful and obedient to the Lord. What kind of Christians are we?

Gingercat back to what you first said to me...I want to comment..

If you believed others were being deceived by a false prophet and following a false gospel, you would advocate leaving them be in their deception. If that is the fruit of your Christian experience that you mentined about so freely in your opening post to me, you might want to look at it a little closer.

You are so quick to judge my motives as hatred, when quite the opposite is true. My motives are ones of love and concern, for those that I know (in many cases within my own family) and also extended to those I have never met but are still impacted.

You are welcome to disagree with my conclusions or my understanding whenever you want, but I would encourage you to move a little slower when you chose to judge my motives.
