12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
God’s word is likened to a sharp two edged sword. It has two sharp sides.
The two cutting edges that are opposite of one another.
Cutting edge truth can be equally opposite, that is to say they are on two opposite sides of the sword, yet they are both truth and both are a part of the two edged sword.
It is when these two cutting edges come together at the point, that we have the joining of the two opposing cutting edges into an apex of truth.
Apex means culmination, pinnacle, top, highest point.
The highest point of truth is when to opposing cuttings edges are joined at the point.
Solomon said it this way:
18 It is good that you grasp one thing and also not let go of the other; for the one who fears God comes forth with both of them. Ecclesiastes 7:18
It is good for us to grasp one extreme cutting edge truth and not let go of the other edge as well, for the one who fears God to not disregard one for the other, will come forth with the balance or the apex of both of them.
Jesus is the culmination of grace and truth.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, 'He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.' " 16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:14-17
God's justice demands that the soul that sins must die.
God's grace had His innocent Son pay the penalty to satisfy His justice, that you and I could be free from the kingdom of darkness and the dominion of the enemy.
To walk with Him and have fellowship with Him.
Eternal life is knowing God.
