The power of The Cross

The Cross of Jesus Christ is not a magic wand! It works according to Faith!

Rom 10:9

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Rom 10:11

For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.:chin

Answer the question please !

So do you believe that everyone Christ died for, His Cross, will effectually save everyone He died for ? Yes or no and why ! You are talking about the power of the Cross, so why be scared to answer the question about the Cross ?

I must thank you, I dont know if everyone got to see my early post?:thumbsup

The thought i had in starting the this post was a conversation of how the Cross had the "power" to crux the mind of the flesh, therefore allowing the mind of the Spirit to have its ability to make "real faith" possible for the believer. Unless the Cross has done its work in the mind, the believer will be double minded! Unable to receive from God they are left powerless!

Jas 1:6

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Jas 1:7

For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

Jas 1:8

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Thank you:-) I have some new revelation so dont stop:thumbsup

Well i try not to have or make-up an opinion based on my own desires! I look to the Word of God alone to decide such matters!

The first scipture one should consider is this;

Rom 10:6

But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

Rom 10:7

Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

The judgment of God, is found throughout the scriptures. Now have i come to a "full understanding" of how God will judge those who reject the Salvation in Christ? I would be full of pride to claim that i have! I do however welcome an honest discussion, within the scriptures! Not according to human desires of human wisdom! Do you have a scripture you would like to discuss? :-)

Many have failed to recognize the difference between the crucifixion and the Lords death. The crucifixion is mans work, what man done to Him. The Lords death is His Own, all the crosses of the world and evil intentions of man, could never have brought about the death of The Lord Jesus, apart from His own voluntary act of laying down life.

Joh 10:17

Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

Joh 10:18

No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

When He lays down His life to take it up again, He shows His infinitude of power and sovereignty by this "deliberate act"!:clap

Php 2:7

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

Php 2:8

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Dont be deceived, we all must die to the flesh to inherit the Kingdom of God:chin

Maybe others can attest to its work in their lives?

He completely transformed me , old thing have passed away all thing have become new! :clap I'm not the person I was!

I agree! do you understand what the "renewed mind" is? and what it means to "walk in the Spirit"? I do not doubt you do, but many use these terms and i have met but few that had a good understanding of what they really mean.

This was not addresed to me but I'll tell you what it means to me.

To me renewing my mind is to meditate on what the Bible says about every situation. We all have opinions, but only God is right about everything. So if I decide I will agree with what He says, then I am renewing my mind. The Bible says to walk in the spirit and not in the flesh. To me that is to listen to the Holy Spirit and follow His direction in all things instead of doing what my will, my flesh or emotions want to do.

I cant disagree, Blev, I also think as one grows in understanding of the meaning of the Cross that the "flesh" is brought more and more into submission to the "spirit".
You might say, that death has become life, that the joy and strength of the Resurrection grows as the flesh fades!:thumbsup

The hireling sees the wolf coming and runs, but the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. Who is the wolf?

Well the whole point of the POWER of the Cross of Christ, is that it is a place where the "natural mind" and its desires must die! Now are you asking a question from your "natural mind" or are you trying to gain Spiritual understanding? The Cross like Christ Himself, must be "believed" before it has effect for mankind. Now you have ask me this question over and over, I am not sure of the rules of this forum? but it seems you are at least breaking the intention of the rules? Now you have my answer to your question, The Cross works by FAITH, for ALL who believe:thumbsup

1Co 1:17

For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
1Co 1:18

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1Co 1:19

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
1Co 1:20

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
1Co 1:21

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. :-)

Yes, as we gain knowledge and receive revelation, the power becomes stronger in our lives and the things of the flesh begin to fall off.

Gen 3:4

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

Gen 3:5

For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

1Co 2:14

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. :chin

The "Christain" that refuses to "reckon" themselves dead with Christ and alive to God in the "Spirit" Can never understand the things of God!

The natural mind can receive doctrine, religious activity, emotions of the flesh, but can never know the Truth of Christ in us, and the power that brings to live a life of victory!:thumbsup

Rom 5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

The Cross is not a demonstration of our perfect love and devotion to God. The Cross is a demonstration of His perfect love and grace toward us.

1Jn 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1Jn 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

The Cross has power to deal with our own selfishness, For Love does not seek is own good but the good of others:

It is pure insanity for someone to say the Power of the Cross, but yet do not believe the Cross saving Power saves everyone it was suppose to save !

Its called having a form of godliness [ by mouth only] but not believing in the Power of Christ to save by His Cross, oh, unless you let Him Lol

I believe it saves those who "believe", what is so hard to understand about that?
