This Has Got to Stop

When I go out in the real world everyone just seems to be doing there own thing I don't see any issues. I think it's just a very small minority of people having a cry and flipping out that is being amplified by the media. Sure things are going on and this and that, but in the whole of things I think most people have common sense and just want to get on with there daily lives.

Every now and then a group of people want to justify their lawless behavior.
Bad things happen when you are violent and without respect for authority figures duly elected to their positions.

They want to erase history, erase lessons learned, erase memories and honor no one but themselves as if they, themselves did something great other than hold a riot that destroyed their town again.

Boston, at one time, was the murder AND suicide capital of America.... meaning that their rates led the nation in murder and suicide.
The city is full of gangs and is rather poor with a poor economy. They have had a long history of appeasing violence and drug related crimes. It's not really a good place to go for tourists.

Sounds like Cleveland. Although I do believe that these things happen more at nighttime than daytime.

The lawlessness has to stop.
In Seattle the mayor has allowed a "free zone" where there is no Government or police.

And thugs now rule that place. It's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. The police chief is furious. (a black woman)

If I was her I'd quit in protest...no public apology is good enough. Just walk out.

That statue should of had Lincoln standing there with a young black man standing next to him with Lincoln's arm around him.
Boston has had a reputation of being racial my whole life.

Old pennies have had the Lincoln memorial on them.
If you look closely you might see it with a magnifying glass but there used to be a black man/adolescent on the steps looking at the statue.

It's since been removed from all of them.

Well it's one thing to support equal racial rights. I do as well, but I'm no snowflake either.

You're joking right? Please tell me you're being sarcastic.
What's wrong with what I say.
I grew up in the projects in Boston.
There were blacks and whites together back in those days (50's and 60's).
But you step out of the projects into the nicer neighborhoods, and there was racism everywhere.
There was no law where black people could live, but they did not live in any of those neighborhoods.
All middle and upperclass white people.
No hispanics, no asians, just white people.

It all started real bad with desegregation.
A black football team from Roxbury came to Charlestown to play a high school football game.
As the blacks were getting off the bus, A sniper shot one of the players and killed him.
That's when the wars of blacks and whites began.
Desegregation?
Why didn't the first game between them send Charlestown to Roxbury to play the game?
This debate could go on forever in Boston.
But black people always lose.

You know Allen (Yes I know it's still you and that you were somehow able to change your username) I hope you weren't offended with what I said earlier as I honestly believed you were joking. We can have different opinions about things and still be friends. :)

Since this is news and Michael74 always used to respond to my news thread. I forgot that I was going to tag him for this and see what he thought about it because I'm really curious to know.

I was under the impression that ONE PARTICULAR STATUE OF LINCOLN showed a black person in what seemed to some as a subservient posture in front of Lincoln.

Good grief.

A statue cannot move or talk, or do anything. A statue is not even breathing, yet some people still find it offensive.

Most people learn from history so it does not repeat and they can move forward, while some need to understand that.

I think it was more of the fact that the former slave was just so grateful to Lincoln that he knelt before him.

Allen?
Who is Allen?
Don't know any Allens.

Oh come on stop messing around! I know it's you because you changed your username the same day you first replied here and the username matched the reply you had before you changed it. And on top of that I'm following you. :lol
