Timing of the Tribulation

No, the Messiah is coming.
Joh 14:1 `Let not your heart be troubled, believe in God, also in me believe;
Joh 14:2 in the house of my Father are many mansions; and if not, I would have told you; I go on to prepare a place for you;
Joh 14:3 and if I go on and prepare for you a place, again do I come, and will receive you unto myself, that where I am ye also may be;

In your other post you quoted several verses suggesting Messiah was coming very quickly. Now you say he is yet to come. What was the purpose of quoting the other verses? I thought you did that so we can understand that verse 30 refers to him coming very quickly in that day.

Joh_20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Joh 20:26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
Joh 20:27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

jocor what is the definition of the word 'world' ? Is it the same in these verses?

Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Rom 1:8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
Mat_24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Was the flood a tribulation to those not on the boat? So after 'the great tribulation' will there be lest then 8 saved?

I used "world" to refer to the inhabitants of earth. In Romans 1:8 it would refer to the inhabitants of earth. In Mt 24:14 it would refer to the planet.

Yes, the flood was a tribulation to those outside the boat. The amount of people left after the great tribulation of Mt 24:21 is irrelevant. What matters is the intensity and duration of those suffering. Why would you ask that if the verse clearly says it will be greater than that of the flood?

Sorry jocor received a phone call from a long time friend... :)

These verse are in relationship to Him coming and going... Reading the account stated by John we see He ascended .. and returned...

IMO it has to do with the way the word 'world' is used. I am not questioning the Scripture, God's Word . I do question our interpretations of His Word? Our translations.. and my goodness we can twist Scripture... even when we dont think we are

I have never done that. lol

God has come to men many times in many different ways both in the OT and the NT history.
He was present as a voice in the garden with Adam, He was present in the burning bush, He came as a cloud and a pillar of fire in the wilderness, and in the Holy Spirit shekinah glory in the temple.
He came in the flesh as the Redeemer, the Messiah. He died and came back. He appeared to Mary at the tomb. He ascended to the Father and came back. He appeared again to the disciples and others as flesh and bone.
I believe in 70AD He appeared first in judgement (wrath of God) and then He appear with mercy because of those who were chosen, those who came to believe.
That in no way means that He will not appear again in a different way and for a final time called the "The Second Advent."

I don't recall the Holy Spirit being called the Glory Cloud. jews refer that as being femine in nature.

Thank you for correcting me. How would you describe that, is there away?
I really don't know if the Cloud is a form of God or not, just much isn't said about it in the tanach. the jews say that the cloud is comforter and follows jews wherever they are outside of isreal and carries their prayers to the Holy Land to be heard by the Heshem. interesting but Idk if there is any truth to that.

Well I can see why they might say that. God told Moses His presence would be with them and there was the cloud and the pillar of fire. Maybe we can just say that at His presence there is His glory and sometimes that glory is manifested in different ways such as those in the wilderness.

it would make sense that it could be but I don't think that the Cloud is god in that is part of the trinity.more like a manifestation of God but not God himself. as confusing as that is.

Kathi do you have the software to do a 'word' search in the Scripture?

Exo_16:10 And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud.

There are many verse 'connecting' CLOUD and GLORY ... the exact phrase glory cloud is not there..
