The bible is 100% correct. Do you believe that God would produce an inferior message for us?

Do you trust the Catholics to canonize scriptures? Do you believe there is no such thing as corrupted scriptures by Gnostic's and Hellenist?

I will have to agree with JudaicChristian about this. Translation after translation has been handed down to us. It is really sad, but some of the Bible we know today was no where to be found in the original manuscripts.....and vice versa.

An important point needs to be made here. What you two have just done is completely undermine the scriptures and now we are free to question absolutely everything. In fact, we can now either accept every writing that claims to be Christian or we can reject all of it.

I strongly suggest reading about the topic before making such statements.

Sorry Free, I did read the topic and have been following this thread since I joined. :o

In no way am I undermining the word of God. I was just pointing out, that some of the writings were not in the original manuscripts and they were added and/or removed by the translators.

My comment has nothing to do with this thread or the doctrine of the Trinity. My point was that one needs to understand how we can determine with a great deal of accuracy what the originals actually said. This continual appeal to altered Scripture, some of which is unfounded, undermines all of Scripture on all theological points, not just as it relates to the Trinity.
 
It is all very simple. These are the things that were added: Trinity, Hell, authority of the Catholic church, use of the word Father, Reincarnation in place of Resurrection, Sunday Sabbath.

Without moving too far off the topic of this thread, can you please briefly explain how the word "Father" is a pagan addition to the scriptures.

This is only a small sample. The term "Father" was common among Pagans.Zeus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. In Greek mythology, Zeus is the "Father of Gods and men" who ruled the Olympians of Mount Olympus as a father ruled the family. He was the god of sky and...

Hi warhorse,
the text in some translations of 1 John chapter 5 that reads:
"...For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit: and these three are one."
is not found in any New Testament Greek manuscripts prior to the 16th century.

The context of this scripture is not to prove a trinity but rather to declare that Jesus is the son of God. (verse's 5 & 10)
The three that testify this are the Spirit (which Jesus received at his baptism) the Water (of his baptism) and the Blood (he shed on the cross)

Thanks for that, I agree. Lets get this to the FRONT again. But 'i' think that you are in the thread comment!:thumbsup Some ones posts might not understand this subject, yet it seems to be as I believe? to be ether for or against the DOCTRINE OF CHRIST! 2 John 1:9-11.

Holy Spirit is a name title for Yahwah our Holy Father, and Christ is a separate being apart from the Father. They are not one and the same, but unified. We are also called to be one with the Father. Why do I keep getting the feeling that some are not read the link page.
