TULIP - Irresistible Grace

In that exact wording no. Can you find a scripture that says Gods Grace is not irresistible ?

Now I have a scripture that says Grace reigns through righteousness Rom 5:21

That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Can you resist something that reigns ? Can you resist death by sin ?
Romans 5:21 NASB
21 so that, as sin reigned in death, even so grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

It would be really interesting to know what you THINK the above verse means.....

Romans 5 starts out by declaring that , BY FAITH (not by a decree of God) we have entered into God's plan.
God wants to make us righteous and this is done through Jesus.

Romans 5:21 Sin is set against grace. When the two are pitted against each other,,,grace will always win.
Sin threatens us with death...."sin reigned in death".

Grace invites us into real life....it wins through righteousness....."grace reigns through righteousness to eternal life".
Because of God's grace, He is making everything right through Jesus, our Savior.

YES....we can resist God.

Matthew 23:37
37 "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling
Isaiah 1:19-20

19 "If you consent and obey, You will eat the best of the land;
20 "But if
you refuse and rebel, You will be devoured by the sword." Truly, the mouth of the LORD has spoken.

YOU denied God's grace until you became saved.
God's grace is resistible by man.

Others are stating what the bible teaches as they understand it.
If you don't like answering others...why do you post?

TULIP is NOT the gospel.
It's what John Calvin (and others) taught a mere 500 years ago.
It's a new teaching that was not part of the early church.
Others have a right to state their views

Im not taking time for you to explain a bunch of verses, you may as well forget about that.

Jesus gives eternal life to all whom the Father gives to him (Jn 17:2).

as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
“I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me
. John 17:2-8

  • And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Just like these 12 disciples we have eternal life this world as long as we know Him; are joined to Him as one spirit. As long as we are in Christ. If we turn away from Him then we no longer know Him or are in Christ.

See John 15:6

  • I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.

All twelve disciples are referred to here as Judas was still with them and still considered His disciple that was given to Him by His father.

  • Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me.

Judas just like the other eleven had “received His messaged” and believed.

Judas would fall away from Christ and become a traitor.

Just like these 12 disciples we have eternal life this world as long as we know Him; are joined to Him as one spirit. As long as we are in Christ. If we turn away from Him then we no longer know Him or are in Christ.

Eternal life precedes knowing Him, Jesus first gives them eternal life, so in order to Know the True God and Jesus Christ whom He sent to die fr them He gave to Him Jn 17:2-3

2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that[purpose] he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

So when He gives them eternal life, it comes with the true knowledge of God and Jesus Christ

Man by nature dead in sin and spiritually ignorant, knows nothing about the true God and could never know Him. Man by nature can and oft does believe superstitiously that there is a god a creator, but know nothing of the True God, that must come by special spiritual revelation based on Christ Matt 11:27

All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father[the True God], save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. Titus 2:11

Will all men be saved?
Thats the Grace that reigns that saves all men it brings salvation to, the elect. The same all men are in Vs 14

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

The all men in Vs 11 are the redeemed peculiar people of Vs 14 thats the context. The word Peculiar is the greek word periousios:
  1. that which is one's own, belonging to one's possessions
    1. a people selected by God from the other nations for his own possession
Thats election,

And all people in Vs 11 emphasizes that election isnt confined to just jews, but it has encompassed all people, nations

So the Grace in Vs 11 reigns as stated in Rom 5:21

Thats the Grace that reigns that saves all men it brings salvation to, the elect. The same all men are in Vs 14

Sorry, but you added your own word to the scripture.

the text does not say elect.

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. Titus 2:11

God desires all men to be saved.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:3-4

However all men will not be saved, only those who believe and therefore obey the Gospel will be saved.

The price was paid for all men to be saved, however only those who believe with their heart and confess with their mouth the Lord Jesus will be saved.

And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. 1 John 2:2

a bunch of verses?

But, I like to post also for those reading along.

Irresistible Grace is not found in the bible.
The opposite is found.
Grace CAN be resisted:

JESUS SAID: NASB
Matthew 22:3
3 "And he sent out his slaves to call those who had been invited to the wedding feast, and they were
unwilling * to come.
SOME of those that had been invited to the Wedding Banquet were UNWILLING to attend.
God's invitation can be resisted.

Acts 7:51
51 "You men who are stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears are
always resisting the Holy Spirit; you are doing just as your fathers did.

The Holy Spirit can be resisted.

The Holy Spirit is the grace of God; the Spirit of grace.

christians don't believe in the false doctrine of "scripture alone"! Christ established the church to teach all men! matt 28:19

but you can readily see in the rejection of Christ that grace is not ir-resistable

Jn 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

rom 5:21 yes for those who accept it!

Thats not what Jn 3:16 says.
Jn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

you can choose to resist!
