Walt was a believer and he held his faith privately inasmuch as he did not believe in pressing his beliefs onto others. Even his daughter has stated that. The boycott you speak of regarding the occult imagery and precepts in numerous Disney productions were organised by Baptists. Christians are always ready to hold other Christians to account. Who holds the unbeliever to account?
 
You can pretty much find some sort of evil in much entertainment today that plays off as comedy or the anime in evil pretend characters. Like anything else that is entertainment, you got good and you got bad as that's how this world rolls.
