WAS THE LAW FULFILLED OR ABOLISHED?

but for me the bottom line is i don't want to eat a scavenger or carnivore because God said not to - science says it's risky for humans to eat carnivores and scavengers

i know people say that has all changed but i don't see God clearly saying anywhere that it has all changed

Amen.

It would certainly be disgusting to eat a possum or buzzard or any number of scavengers.

No telling what kind of diseases they carry.

However when it comes to pork ribs or shrimp or lobster, that’s a different story.

Concerning whether the law has changed that is clear.

I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. Romans 14:14

So He said to them, “Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him, because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?”
Mark 7:18-19

mad cow disease originated by adding ground dead cow meat into the herbivores feed meal - not sure about parasites in cattle - probably the same thing - possibly man messing around with what they feed cattle rather than just letting them eat grass - used to work with my dad on his mobile feed mill travelling to farms and feeding cattle -

the rest i would have to check out

If one is a Believer, we still have the Freedom to give the Power to the Old Man, and when we do we can expect to be Chastised for it.....If one gets their hand spanked enough, the Behavior that brought it about should diminish.....If the Sin is serious enough and if God's Chastisement is ignored, the disobedient Child Of God is subject to an untimely, early death- Salvation still intact because Jesus said that Believers shall NEVER come under Condemnation .....The NEW MAN will be victorious in the end— it is up to the Believer to decide how many stripes he will have on his rear- end when he stands at the Bema Seat , receiving few, if any Rewards.......
I was correct when I made my original statement because you believe you cannot lose your salvation.

I had said this:
THOSE THAT BELIEVE IN OSAS BELIEVE THAT INSTEAD OF LOSING SALVATION, THEY ARE CHASTISED IN THIS LIFE AND THAT IS THEIR PUNISHMENT.

You have just confirmed my statement by your above post.
Even including that if we don't stop sinning, God will make us die early.

How can this be true if John says that nothing unclean will enter into heaven?
Revelation 21:27
and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Those that live a life of sin will not be saved and will not enter into heaven.
What verse(s) makes you believe that one could sin in this manner and still be saved when the entire N.T. states that we must obey God?

Will your answer be that we are to obey God so as not to be chastised?
AND THIS WAS MY ORIGINAL STATEMENT.

God does not chastise us.....but He does not allow us to spend eternity with Him UNLESS we followed HIS RULES while in this life.

If you live a sinful life, your name WILL BE ERASED from the Book of Life.

Incorrect teaching will bring many to damnation.
God is a Holy God and expects us to obey Him.

Luke 6:46
“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? "

Jesus is not only our Savior....
He must also be our Lord.

sad this is the real problem you have only got osas doctrine about half true . i have studied this out for many years. scripture doe say God can take us out of this life if we keep sinning after salvation. you have become judge jury executioner. i have studied out both sides of the teaching .i have found both sides have valid points .. so why can you not respect those who are different in teaching.. evry forum i have been on that has a post on osas turns into a UFC match . bloody fight trying to get there opponents to either submit through submission holds. or beat there face to a bloody pulp

This is so true, yet some would rather argue than acknowledge what the Lord and His Apostles taught.

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you. 1 Timothy 4:1,16

Where does scripture say God will make us die if we keep on sinning?
Did Jesus ever say this? Jesus is the one who taught what God Father wants us to know.

You have studied both sides, this is very good.
Do you think others have not?
I respect you Jerry,,,I NEVER have said anything that demonstrates that I do not respect you.
I do not AGREE with you...this is different.
And I'm not here to beat you to a bloody pulp.
In fact, I find it rather difficult to discuss any topic with you.
So I tend not to get too deep into any topic.....

Here is one reason why I believe if one loses their faith, they also lose their salvation:

Colossians 1:21-23
21And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds,
22yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach—
23if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.

Now, if you wish to discuss the above then I'm willing.
If you're going to reply as you usually do, please do not reply.

true

here is a statement i found:

Of the land animals, none. No carnivorous land animal is a kosher animal. No omnivorous land animal is a kosher animal. Only true herbivores are kosher animals.

Of the birds, none that we know of are carnivorous (although having owned chickens - which ARE kosher - I would say they are certainly omnivorous). However, no kosher birds are raptors (hunters) or scavengers. Hawks, eagles, owls and vultures are not kosher.

When you get to fish, that’s different. Kosher fish are recognized by having both fins and scales, and fish diet is never a concern. Some kosher fish are predatory, some are not.

Where does scripture say God will make us die if we keep on sinning?
1 Corinthians 11:29-31 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

Do you think others have not?
i really wonder facts are scripture solo word does not say we can lose our salvation ---------NOR DOES IT SAY WE CAN LIVE HOW WE WANT after salvation. if we refuse chastisement of the Lord THAT MAKES US BASTARDS illegitimate children never saved

could be it has to be one sided . what your disagreeing with is scripture :eek2 . you have never seen me post you can or you can not lose your salvation.. have you? i will answer that for you...NO because its not my job to judge salvation.. if its wrong i say its wrong if its sin to him who knows to do Good and dont is a sin/ sin of omission and sin of commission ..do you fear you lost your salvation every day/night?. i teach a know so salvation .that ye may know . do you disagree with jude on him able to keep us from stumbling /falling. i teach preach my convictions .i have over the years heard if we do this and you dont do this your going to hell. i am not going back and forth on can you or can you not.it has ripped churches wide apart . sad thing is many never go back to Church. i am going to post some scriptures .i want you to point out which one you think is wrong.
Hebrews 12:7-9 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all arepartakers, then ye are bastards and not sons.

9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we gave them reverence. Shall we not far rather be in subjection unto the Father of Spirits, and live?

1 Peter 1:4-6 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that fadeth not away, reserved in Heaven for you,

5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

6 In this ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations,

see we add stipulation through faith .faith is how we accept it .there are those who are weak in faith and struggle if they are saved or not. but yet they are saved . satan is the accuser of the brethren. he is our adversary like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour says who we resist in steadfast faith .. how much faith ? just faith
1 John 2
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
1 John 5:20 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
20 And we know that the Son of God is come and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true; and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and Eternal Life.

1 John 5:13-15 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
13 These things I have written unto you that believe in the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe in the name of the Son of God.

14 And this is the confidence that we have in Him: that if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us.

15 And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.

Bass caught from the lagoon habe caused nervous system reactions from the red tide .

God does not chastise us.....but He does not allow us to spend eternity with Him UNLESS we followed HIS RULES while in this life.

The “ RULE” for Eternal Life was given to Paul by Jesus—- Believe in Paul’s Gospel of Grace Plus Nothing 1Cor15:1-4

God clearly states that He will “ Chastise” those He Loves
————————
If you live a sinful life, your name WILL BE ERASED from the Book of Life.

We ALL live Sinful lives....your Sins will be “ Forgotten” if you are a Believer....
———————

Incorrect teaching will bring many to damnation.
God is a Holy God and expects us to obey Him.

“Incorrect teaching” says we can be “ worthy” to enter Heaven by following rules or “ being obedient”——- all great things to do— they are just NOT God's Manner Of Saving Souls....
Correct Teaching says that we are “ Saved by Grace, through Faith”. Faith in Paul’s Gospel , given to him by Jesus personally, is how one becomes Saved in the New Covenant....NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD for Salvation......make sure you never wind up on the wrong side of that Statement....

1 Corinthians 11:29-31 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
Many were weak and sickly because they received the body and blood of Jesus unworthily.
But, alas, as it seems, it was only something the Apostles and the writer believed at that time.
As it turns out...many in sin receive communion and they do not die. How would you explain this?

I don't try to.

I know that when someone dies, we don't say that it was their own fault because they were being chastissed. We die because it is time for us to die.

Also, I did not read you whole post in detail --- will do that now --- however, I believe you have not responded to Colossians 1:21-23.

I like to respond to verses given to me.
If you just throw verses back at me...it becomes a ping pong game of verses.
How would YOU explain Colossians 1:21-23?

i really wonder facts are scripture solo word does not say we can lose our salvation ---------NOR DOES IT SAY WE CAN LIVE HOW WE WANT after salvation. if we refuse chastisement of the Lord THAT MAKES US BASTARDS illegitimate children never saved could be it has to be one sided . what your disagreeing with is scripture :eek2 . you have never seen me post you can or you can not lose your salvation.. have you?
Well Jerry, you may not wish to take a stand on OSAS,,,but I happen to think it's very important to know what the bible teaches about this.

Too many are living under the false impression that they could never become lost again and this is just not correct. And, chastisement has nothing to do with anything. A person is either saved or is lost...chastisement is a totally different topic.

Jesus took a stand on OSAS.
HE said:

Matthew 7:21-23
21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
22“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’
23“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’

Those that do not do the will of the Father will not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven because Jesus calls them LAWLESS,,,the lawless will not enter.

I'm not saying YOU are lawless, what I'm saying is that to believe in OSAS leads to lawlessness for many - and this could mean that they are lost and will be asked to depart from Jesus.

i will answer that for you...NO because its not my job to judge salvation.. if its wrong i say its wrong if its sin to him who knows to do Good and dont is a sin/ sin of omission and sin of commission ..do you fear you lost your salvation every day/night?. i teach a know so salvation .that ye may know . do you disagree with jude on him able to keep us from stumbling /falling. i teach preach my convictions .i have over the years heard if we do this and you dont do this your going to hell. i am not going back and forth on can you or can you not.it has ripped churches wide apart . sad thing is many never go back to Church. i am going to post some scriptures .i want you to point out which one you think is wrong.
I've never stated what one must do or not do, have I?
I've never said we are to judge the soul of another, have I?
HOWEVER, we are instructed to witness and say to others what is correct.
OSAS is not correct, and I'll say this many times, as is necessary.
If a person does not wish to go to church because they can't bear to hear the truth,
that is upon them....not anyone of us here on this forum.
I've only attended two denominations in my entire life and they both agree with my statements.
I don't make up my own doctrine.

Is there any other verse about chasening?
I don't care too much for this topic and really do not know.
I'm not sure who wrote Hebrews, so it leaves me to wonder.

1 Peter 1:4-6 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

Our inheritance is reserved for us in heaven.
We receive our salvation at the end of our lives.
He who endures to the end will be saved.
Matthew 24:13
13“But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. "

Jesus said this.

And, if you notice, 1 Peter says many times that we are kept BY OUR FAITH.
1 Peter 1:2 We must obey Jesus.
1 Peter 1:5 We are protected by God through faith.
1 Peter 1:9 The outcome of our faith is salvation of our souls.
1 Peter 1:16 Be holy as the Lord is holy.

and more....

see we add stipulation through faith .faith is how we accept it .there are those who are weak in faith and struggle if they are saved or not. but yet they are saved . satan is the accuser of the brethren. he is our adversary like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour says who we resist in steadfast faith .. how much faith ? just faith

Agreed.

You don't have to reply to me if you think I misunderstand you.
But I only reply to what you write...
and I back it up with scripture.

We have eternal life and can be assured of our salvation for as long as we have faith
and remain IN CHRIST.
John 15:5-6
5“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
6“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.

Faith Only is not biblical.

Please post some verses where Jesus says all we have to do is to believe in Him and we will be saved.

He spent over 3 years teaching HOW one is to enter into the Kingdom of God here on earth AND REMAIN THERE.

Here are some statements Jesus made:

Matthew 4:17
"Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand."

What does REPENT mean?
Is something required to be DONE?

Matthew 5:20
20“For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

The Pharisees followed the Law,,,so what could Jesus have meant?
He said He did not come to abolish the Law.

Matthew 5:48
"Be perfect, as your Father in heaven is perfect".

Man cannot be perfect...so what does this mean?
Does it require some action?

Matthew 7:21
"Not everyone who cries Lord, Lord, will enter into the Kingdom of heaven,
but he who does the will of My Father..."

Matthew 7:24
"therefore anyone who hears these words of Mine, and ACTS UPON THEM, may be compared to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock."

What words?
What acts?

You see BB,,,,Jesus did NOT teach Faith Only.
And it would be prudent to repeat what Jesus taught and not what
some churches teach.

Fish need to be raised in water free from red or brown tides .can't also ignore mercury problems .

Bass caught from the lagoon have caused nervous system reactions from the red tide .
ok - so kosher fish are being contaminated by man? - too bad

I agree with you.
But some think they can go on sinning and still be saved.
Some may be reading along right now.
So I like to speak to them for fear that they might be lost.

You said the magic words....we can follow Him, IF WE LET HIM DO IT.
Some speak about grace and feel secure....
and do not let Him do it.

P.S. I don't mean by the above that it's possible to have a sinless life.
Maybe that is how it is supposed to be for them. Meaning, maybe they are not his and will not really hear his voice.

I think we are on different pages though when it comes to salvation. God will not give the Spirit of truth to someone and then take it away.

2 Timothy 1:8-9 So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, who has saved us and called us to holy life - not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. (who has saved us)

I've been reading people's interpretations of salvation and like I've said before on this website, the only people who receive the Spirit of truth are the people in
Luke 8:15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

The rest of the people in the parable of the sower were so called believers at certain points, but unless their hearts take a different direction.....they will not be given the truth completely. The only people that are "given" the Spirit of truth are the good soil people
