1 Corinthians 11:29-31 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
Many were weak and sickly because they received the body and blood of Jesus unworthily.
But, alas, as it seems, it was only something the Apostles and the writer believed at that time.
As it turns out...many in sin receive communion and they do not die. How would you explain this?
I don't try to.
I know that when someone dies, we don't say that it was their own fault because they were being chastissed. We die because it is time for us to die.
Also, I did not read you whole post in detail --- will do that now --- however, I believe you have not responded to Colossians 1:21-23.
I like to respond to verses given to me.
If you just throw verses back at me...it becomes a ping pong game of verses.
How would YOU explain Colossians 1:21-23?
i really wonder facts are scripture solo word does not say we can lose our salvation ---------NOR DOES IT SAY WE CAN LIVE HOW WE WANT after salvation. if we refuse chastisement of the Lord THAT MAKES US BASTARDS illegitimate children never saved could be it has to be one sided . what your disagreeing with is scripture
2 . you have never seen me post you can or you can not lose your salvation.. have you?
Well Jerry, you may not wish to take a stand on OSAS,,,but I happen to think it's very important to know what the bible teaches about this.
Too many are living under the false impression that they could never become lost again and this is just not correct. And, chastisement has nothing to do with anything. A person is either saved or is lost...chastisement is a totally different topic.
Jesus took a stand on OSAS.
HE said:
Matthew 7:21-23
21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
22“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’
23“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’
Those that do not do the will of the Father will not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven because Jesus calls them LAWLESS,,,the lawless will not enter.
I'm not saying YOU are lawless, what I'm saying is that to believe in OSAS leads to lawlessness for many - and this could mean that they are lost and will be asked to depart from Jesus.
i will answer that for you...NO because its not my job to judge salvation.. if its wrong i say its wrong if its sin to him who knows to do Good and dont is a sin/ sin of omission and sin of commission ..do you fear you lost your salvation every day/night?. i teach a know so salvation .that ye may know . do you disagree with jude on him able to keep us from stumbling /falling. i teach preach my convictions .i have over the years heard if we do this and you dont do this your going to hell. i am not going back and forth on can you or can you not.it has ripped churches wide apart . sad thing is many never go back to Church. i am going to post some scriptures .i want you to point out which one you think is wrong.
I've never stated what one must do or not do, have I?
I've never said we are to judge the soul of another, have I?
HOWEVER, we are instructed to witness and say to others what is correct.
OSAS is not correct, and I'll say this many times, as is necessary.
If a person does not wish to go to church because they can't bear to hear the truth,
that is upon them....not anyone of us here on this forum.
I've only attended two denominations in my entire life and they both agree with my statements.
I don't make up my own doctrine.
Hebrews 12:7-9 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all arepartakers, then ye are bastards and not sons.
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we gave them reverence. Shall we not far rather be in subjection unto the Father of Spirits, and live?
Is there any other verse about chasening?
I don't care too much for this topic and really do not know.
I'm not sure who wrote Hebrews, so it leaves me to wonder.
1 Peter 1:4-6 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that fadeth not away, reserved in Heaven for you,
5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 In this ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations,
Our inheritance is reserved for us in heaven.
We receive our salvation at the end of our lives.
He who endures to the end will be saved.
Matthew 24:13
13“But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. "
Jesus said this.
And, if you notice, 1 Peter says many times that we are kept BY OUR FAITH.
1 Peter 1:2 We must obey Jesus.
1 Peter 1:5 We are protected by God through faith.
1 Peter 1:9 The outcome of our faith is salvation of our souls.
1 Peter 1:16 Be holy as the Lord is holy.
and more....
see we add stipulation through faith .faith is how we accept it .there are those who are weak in faith and struggle if they are saved or not. but yet they are saved . satan is the accuser of the brethren. he is our adversary like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour says who we resist in steadfast faith .. how much faith ? just faith
1 John 2
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an
advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
1 John 5:20 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
20 And we know that the Son of God is come and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true; and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and Eternal Life.
Agreed.
1 John 5:13-15 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
13 These things I have written unto you that believe in the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe in the name of the Son of God.
14 And this is the confidence that we have in Him: that if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us.
15 And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.
you find any of these scriptures that you reject. i also challenge you to find any post i have ever made that says you can be lost again or you can live how you want and still go to heaven.
it AINT BIBLE take a chill pill i have explained this numerous times
the old saying dont judge a book by its cover until you read it.. dont judge my teaching until you fully know what i am saying.. you read a phrase/comment i made and ride off with it.
You don't have to reply to me if you think I misunderstand you.
But I only reply to what you write...
and I back it up with scripture.
We have eternal life and can be assured of our salvation for as long as we have faith
and remain IN CHRIST.
John 15:5-6
5“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
6“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.
