When Peter said this, he was speaking from his flesh as the inspiration of the Holy Spirit had not yet come. There is no mention in the above passages of Judas. This prophecy could be said of anyone.
When Peter spoke, He was speaking by the inspiration of God, because what Peter spoke is scripture.
Also, it is accurate, that Judas is cursed, ( the posterity of Judas is cut off, those cursed of him are cut off) and that is why he was replaced.
Cursing is for the whole nation of Israel. 9 Israel is under the curse of being cursed for not continuing in all the things of the law to do them.)
Psalm 37:22 For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be
cursed of him shall be cut off.
Psalm 109:13 Let his
posterity be
cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
Malachi 3:9 Ye are
cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
Acts 1:16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
Acts 1:20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.
Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written,
Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by
inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Besides, Judas was at the Passover meal and Jesus declared that His body and blood were given "for you" (the twelve sitting with Him at the PASS OVER meal.)
Judas was an apostle and was named an apostle of the Lord in Luke 6:12-13 and there are no called and elect apostles in hell.
Judas repented, confessed his sin and returned/rejected the 30 pieces of silver when he learned he was complicit in the condemnation and death of an innocent man (Jesus.) What was the reply of the religious leaders after they apprehended Jesus? They told Judas "See thou to that" which is to say, "you handle it."
What the priest with the witness of the people should have done as prescribed under the Law of Moses of life for life is take Judas outside the city and stone him. Instead they told him to "handle it yourself" and he did. He went out and hung himself in obedience to the Law.
The name of Judas will also be inscribed in the foundation of the wall of New Jerusalem along with the other eleven apostles for the term in Revelation 21 describes the names of the apostles of the LAMB and this dates their apostleship to the time when Jesus was on earth as the Lamb of God.
The same happened for Israel first, they were named to be the priest of the Lord forever, but that changed.
It changed because God rose Him up a faithful priest ( Christ the faithful witness)
Judas likewise was rejected. There is no place of repentance for those of the flesh. ( Hebrews 12:17)
1 Samuel 2:30 Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk
before
me for ever: but now the Lord saith,
Be it far from me; for them that honour
me I will honour, and they that despise
me shall
be lightly esteemed.
1 Samuel 2:35 And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.
Do you even KNOW what the word "perdition" means?
Judas didn't purchase anything. He was dead. The priests were the ones to use the 30 pieces of silver to purchase a small plot of land in which to bury strangers and foreigners who die in Israel. The Jewish people usually had family plots in which to bury their dead. Abraham did this when Sarah died, and he was also buried there with her when his time came as well.
Judas purchased judgement, ( that is why it is called the field of blood) he received that for himself and all men of perdition.
Jesus Christ purchased HIs congregation, ( Psalm 74:2) the church of God with His own blood. ( that Judas betrayed.)
Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath
purchased with his own blood.
Do you even understand the "office" that Peter was leading his brethren to deal with in Acts 1:15-26?
Did you know that there was a window of about ten days from the ascension of Jesus until the coming of the Holy Spirit and that Jesus COMMANDED His disciples to "tarry" in Jerusalem until the Promise arrive? The word "tarry" means to "sit" [down] (and do nothing.) But what does Scripture say Peter did? He STOOD UP and officiated a meeting in which he was in disobedience to do. Jesus was on the earth for 40 days after His resurrection. If He wanted to replace Judas, He would have done it within that time. But Jesus doesn't 'replace' in the body of Christ, which is the Church, HE ADDS.
Tarry means to wait, Peter did as the Lord commanded, to wait patiently, to receive the promise of the Holly Ghost.
Hebrews 10, tells us to do as we saw all the Apostles of the Lord did faithfully, or we also would not receive the promise, if we do disobedience to God.
Acts 1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the
promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have
heard of
me.
Hebrews 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not
tarry.
And where does Scripture explicitly say his own place is?
As a Hebrew and in the Abrahamic Covenant and called and chosen by Christ, Judas' 'own place' would be at the table leaning on Abraham's bosom.
Judas did not do faithfully, and had his portion in this life.
When not of this world, as Christ, the place is heavenly places, which cant be Judas, who went to his own place.
Psalm 17:14 From
men which are thy hand, O Lord, from
men of the world, which have
their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure:
they are full
of children, and leave
the rest
of their substance to
their babes.
Ephesians 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his
own right hand in the heavenly
places,
Where in Scripture does it say Judas is blotted out?
Or are you making things up leaning on your own understanding in the vanity of your mind?
By your saying Judas was blotted out of the book of life when there is no Scripture that says this YOU are adding to the words of 'this' prophecy.
Careful your name isn't blotted out!
Judas is not written with the living, Judas is not blessed, but cursed, Judas was not forgiven, Judas is of perdition, with other ungodly men and the devil, who was in Judas as Judas has the devil as his father.
John 13:2 And supper being ended, the
devil having now put into the heart of
Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;
John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the
son of
perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the
son of
perdition;
2 Peter 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and
perdition of ungodly men.
