What are you listening right now?

Trans-siberian Orchestra's new CD "Dreams of Fireflies (on a Christmas Night)"

How is this one? I have found that many of their previous albums are kind of annoying with the "rock opera" songs included in amongst the edge instrumental version of classical pieces, which are really the only reason I get their albums.

I enjoyed it ... but then, I enjoy their music. Like any other musical genre, I have to be in the 'right' mood for it, and last night I certainly was.

Tonight, it's Jimmy Buffett's before the beach cd .... nothing like hearing him sing about Ellis Dee

I felt like looking up some song covers by Alvin and the Chipmunks. lol They were an obsession I used to have a few years ago.

The Silence of God, by Andrew Peterson

"It's enough to drive a man crazy, it'll break a man's faith
It's enough to make him wonder, if he's ever been sane
When he's bleating for comfort from Thy staff and Thy rod
And the Heaven's only answer is the silence of God

It'll shake a man's timbers when he loses his heart
When he has to remember what broke him apart
This yoke may be easy but this burden is not
When the crying fields are frozen by the silence of God

And if a man has got to listen to the voices of the mob
Who are reeling in the throes of all the happiness they've got
When they tell you all their troubles
Have been nailed up to that cross
Then what about the times when even followers get lost?
'Cause we all get lost sometimes

There's a statue of Jesus on a monastery knoll
In the hills of Kentucky, all quiet and cold
And He's kneeling in the garden, as silent as a Stone
All His friends are sleeping and He's weeping all alone

And the man of all sorrows, he never forgot
What sorrow is carried by the hearts that he bought
So when the questions dissolve into the silence of God
The aching may remain but the breaking does not
The aching may remain but the breaking does not
In the holy, lonesome echo of the silence of God
"

Leap of Faith, by Sanctus Real

Listening to this on a CD and don't feel like looking up a YouTube video of it.

"This too shall pass oh but it always comes back
And it's knocking upon your door
You say how did you find me here
Cause I've been running for years

Now you're back in the same place

You've been here before
Stuck in a maze trying to find an open door
Pray for the strength and take a leap of faith

You fail in your mind long before you ever try

Why do you believe those lies
You love to drown your fears
But you've been drowning for years in tears

Back in the same place

You've been here before
Stuck in a maze trying to find an open door
Pray for the strength and take a leap of faith

So what are you waiting for

Cause there is a Saviour waiting to save you
What are you drowning for

Back in the same place

You've been here before
Stuck in a maze trying to find an open door
Pray for the strength and take a leap of faith
"

This is a song from one of the endings to FMA: Brotherhood. I like a lot of the songs from the openings and endings on this anime. Because, if you're able to look up a good English translation, you find that the songs have pretty deep meanings.:)

Apparently I am not only the resident dog enthusiast, but a mild anime fan now, too. xD (Honestly, I never thought I'd like anime, that it just wasn't for me; but the universe has proved me wrong.) Plus I like Vic Mignogna's singing.
