I'm with you on this. God's plan was for a nation that would come from the line of Jacob. Therefore, it could not have been any other way than through Jacob's marriages. I believe it was God who made it all happen just the way it did.
I think it's interesting that it was the jealousy of Leah's sons towards Jacob's love for Joseph, Rachel's son, that put many other things in motion that were also in God's plan.

Yeah it's brilliant how it all played out. It's all that mix of sovereignty and free will.

Hm it seems my parents aren't into arranging a marriage for me. They'd certainly love me to get married (and, most of all, to give them grand children), but they don't bother to arrange anything. It'd be kinda hard, too, they live in a another state, and my parents aren't christians, and their idea of a good son in law doesn't match my taste in men. So as a good christian woman what should I do to get my arranged marriage? :biggrin

Maybe you could hire a marriage arranger. I'm sure there's people out their who do this. Actually friends seem to do this even without permission :D

Yeah they try to match me with any man that happens to be the right age and single. It's as if both being single would be enough for making two people fall in love.

Not all.I have known many who have been very self centered and vain and a I known a couple who were not.God has control of our genes.

It is a good thing! I like the cinderella types. Polite, with a good heart...real beauty is on the inside.

I've never really heard of the "Cinderella complex" It sounds like what I call a high maintenance girl.

My thinking is to always go for the girl with a good heart over the super-models. Beauty fades over time, but good hearts wont.

First cousin marriage is allowed in these states under the following circumstances:

Arizona- if both are 65 or older, or one is unable to reproduce.

Illinois- if both are 50 or older, or one is unable to reproduce.

Indiana- if both are at least 65.

Maine- if couple obtains a physician's certificate of genetic counseling.
