Bible Study What Happens When We die

Never heard of The Message, but thank you for bringing that to my attention. The first Bible I was given when I was 12 years old was the KJV and now that I am 61 that is all I have ever used as my main text of scripture. I use the Strong's Exhausted Concordance for the Hebrew and Greek definitions of certain words that helps me understand what I am reading. Everyone has their favorites, but even if we did not have the written word the Holy Spirit would still teach us all we need to learn as to what was spoken to Abraham by God is still spoken to us today. We will never exhaust Gods word, but for what we think we know we need to be sure that it is given to us by His Spirit.

Sixty-one! I had no idea you were such a young lady! :confused2
 
I remember sixteen... I think! I was smarter than my dad and I still wonder why he did not break the nose just above the smart mouth. I never want to return to fifteen nor to sixteen, I was a terror in Pegged Bluejeans and Penny Loafers with a Duck Tail that drove young women nuts when I performed... Nope, don't want to ever go back there.

¿But sixteen year old women? I still enjoy looking at them and trying to talk sense to them, especially when they believe they are ready to give their all to some squirrel that reminds me of the young, dumb, me. Beautiful girls are the greatest gift God has placed into our protection. I loved when Ash, my granddaughter, was siteen and the delight of my life. Scared me to death that she would forget that wedding ring she placed on her finger at fourteen.

But she and some of the others I tried to care for made it to the Marriage Bed in the manner that honored their God and that tickles the Living Snoit out of me. Yep, young ladies are a gift to be cherrished and protected... so don't get upset if I tend to protect that sixteen year old you think you have hidden.
 
At sixteen you think you are invincible....................WOW!!! was I wrong.................Thank God for His grace that humbled me latter on in life.
 
I was looking for a few verses I can't think of right now but came across this
1 Corinthians 15:50-53
This is speaking of how our body does not go to heaven until the resurrection, or end times. Again, when we die the spirit and soul go to heaven. We'll get our glorified bodies when the time comes.

But, for his glory, how do you understand John 5:25-29

Those who hear shall live. Do you understand this to mean NOW. Those who hear the Word of God shall live. Jesus is LIFE: Those who believe in Him have LIFE, now and after death.

Jesus is equal with God in judgement and forgiveness as God has given Him that authority to judge the heart of man. No one knows when Christ will return so the time is now to be prepared for His coming before its to late and the door of Salvation will be closed forever. Those in the grave that have prepared for His coming will hear His voice calling to them and will rise and be transformed to be with the Lord forever. Those who have not prepared themselves to receive Christ at His coming will be resurrected to Gods judgment. This is called the Great White Throne judgment and there God will pass sentence on them for their names are not found in the Lambs Book of Life and cast them into the lake of fire.

Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Eph 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

Act 10:42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
Act 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

Rev 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
Rev 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Mat 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Mat 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
Mat 24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
Mat 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

With scripture you have made it clear what happens but and though I have taught and preached this truth, people, generally, still get it all wrong. If people will use either a purchased copy or one of the Free Electronic copies available on the web of the Nave's Topical Bible and spend, just, a little time studying Death and Eternal Life, it cannot be misunderstood that Death, as spoken of in the scriptures, is nothing like our temporal understanding of it.

The perpetual problem, though, is lazy greed! When I was a kid and into a young man I worked and learned to love my work. Today, our young men and women are taught to be entitled, lazy bums. This has spread forward, I am sad to proclaim. In my last class I reached a point where the two Deacons attending and I thought it a good subject to teach the truth about living a holy life as opposed to the Holy Life being pushed here in the US and perhaps abroad y the Holy Life Movement. During the first lesson I ran ten of the thirteen members to another church because the Pastor agreed they should follow the lesson and learn what the truth was about the subject.

The problem, as expressed, was that the subject would require up to an hour of study and that nobody was as holy as Bill Taylor. If anyone wants to break my heart, accuse me of that for I know my past better than anyone. But it is generally the same with Christian and Lost Men and Women today, they believe with the demise of the natural body, all life ends.

I pray your post will cause people to study the subject material.

Thank you Bill. I could sure see you and me sitting face to face over coffee losing all tract of time sharing with each other.
There are three types of People. The SMO (Sunday morning only), the Pastor followers (those who believe every word that comes out of the their mouth) and then you have the searchers who are always digging in scripture for truth on their own by allowing the Holy Spirit teach them.
I am the searcher who loves to dig for truth.

I get flack from some people because I do not go to Church anymore, (mainly because there are no word Churches where I live), but I am not going to sit in some Church that does not teach truth nor would they recognize Jesus if he was permitted to even walk through their doors. My Church is the fellowship I have with God and what I share with friends. Abraham, Issac and Jacob walked by faith and had not the written word to study as they heard the voice of God and knew Him well.

Because I am to weak to stand for more than a couple of seconds, today, my wife and daughter go to Church without me. And so it is that I do Church in my bed most of the time. My voice is now weak and my lungs are loosing volume. My hands lost their ability to hold my guitars some time back and all five were given to the service of the LORD and are in service, somewhere today, one of them in the Walls Prison Unit in Teas.

The LORD our God is with me all day, every day, and I hope and pray I never cease to learn about the scriptures... He has yet to fail me. You, I and Fran, as far apart as we are are the Church... OH, oh and don't forget Reba and that other old biker, Chopper!

Everyday can be a challenge, but thank God He is always with us. The true body of Christ is not from the four walls, but from the very Spirit that joins us all together as one in Christ. Just think, one day we will all be together in a new glorified body free from our physical allictions and what a wonderful day that will be, amen.

Very beautiful Bill.
It's testimonies like this that help one when things get tough. And they do, for all of us. Believe me. But we push forward, knowing that Jesus accompanies us even though I have, at times, asked Him if I'm not getting more than I can bear. But if we're surviving, I guess we can bear it and He knows best.

One thing at a time, we must say good-bye to all. And when we've said good-bye to the last thing we have on this earth, we'll be in the presence of the Lord.
Revelation 21:4

In the meantime, I'm happy to know Him.
