What is your purpose?

Why were you born? What is the reason for God putting human beings on the Earth? What is your destiny?<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p

At first glance those question would seem as if it is addressed to unbelievers, but I am not asking unbelievers these questions. I am addressing Christians. Could you give Biblical answers to those questions if someone were to ask you? Because not many Christians know the answer. Do you?<O:p</O:p

I believe I was created by God for God. He wants me to love him with all my heart, all my mind, all my soul, and all my strength.

That is true, but angels do a far better job of that then we do. But that is still not the reason or purpose for God making human beings. God does not need us to love Him as if He has a need to be loved.<O:p</O:p

he created us out of love and wanted us to love him. he doesnt need us to love him to be complete but that is his nature for God is love.

see 1 cor 13, and also the verse john 3:16, and revalation chapters 20,21

I know this may seem very simplistic but I think of God creating us in some way like people having children. True, He doesn't need us and is complete without us but He wants to fellowship with us and have a loving relationship with us. He is my Father which describes a loving relationship. Yes I may sin and grieve His heart but as His child He never stops loving me. Also, He will chasten me when I do sin because that is what a loving father does but His chastening is always out of love and for the purpose of molding me into what He desires for me to be.

All those verses are true, but still that does not get at the heart of what our purpose is or why God made man. Our purpose is weaved in and intertwined with Jesus'(God) purpose, so if one knows His purpose we will know what our purpose and destiny is also. <O:p</O:p

problem if adam hadnt sinned christs death on the cross wasnt needed.

remember adam walked and talked with God in the cool of the day.
even in our "redeemed" state at present we cant do that! we wouldnt be able to live.

think of john when he saw the lord in glory!

It may be simplistic but you have touched on part of the reason why God made human beings. None of the angels in Heaven will have the kind of Father and son or children in this case relationship that we have and will have. It is the exact same relationship that Jesus talked about that He had with His Father. So it is not a relationship like a wealthy man and his servant or servants, but like a wealthy man and his children.....we are not servants, but sons.

The children of a wealthy man have privileges that a servant will never have. Servants have no hope of ever inheriting the wealth of his employer, because they are mere servants. Angels are only servants.

Hebrews 1:13-14 (NKJV)
13 But to which of the angels has He ever said: "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool"?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

John 8:35 (KJV)
35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.

Now take that example and apply that to God and we will get a tiny glimpse of what our destiny is. God owns everything, including the angels. Since we are his children, born of the Spirit we too will own everything, including the angels. We will share rulership over all things, both things that now exist and things to come with God.

This may be hard for some to grasp but the Bible has scriptures that give us a tiny picture of our future......we will be kings of the Earth and expand the kingdom of our Father. The Bible says of the increase of His government and peace their will be no end.

Isaiah 9:7 (ASV)
7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.

So not only will peace not end, but even the expanding of the kingdom will never stop expanding.....we will forever be acuring new territory and bring it under the subjection of the kingdom of God.

The dead and lifeless plants will be populated and we will each have our own plants, galaxy and so on to rule over. Some of the parables that Jesus told give us implications of this.

Luke 19:17-19 (ASV)
17 And he said unto him, Well done, thou good servant: because thou wast found faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
18 And the second came, saying, Thy pound, Lord, hath made five pounds.
19 And he said unto him also, Be thou also over five cities.

We will start out ruling over towns, Cities and even Nations, and as those Nations and people come into the kingdom, and human beings have been glorified, the whole world will be filled with kings and will go out from the Earth and bring the other planets under the rule of the kingdom of God. The riches and enormous wealth that will be gained from the colony of planets will be brought to the Earth and add to its beauty.

Revelation 21:24-25 (KJV)
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

The gate of this City, which will be 14,000 to 15,000 miles square and equally as high(Revelation 21:15-17), will not be shut because it will be bustling with God's children coming and going.

We will not get tired, weary or board because we will have a glorified body like that of Jesus. We will have a glorified brain to match that kind of body.We will be filled with vigor, life and be excited at the next project.

we only reign with christ for the millenium as after the destruction of satan does that part of the gates that shall not be shut apply.

it is after that the new jerusalem comes down.

Adam's sin did not change God's plan for us. Even if Adam had not sinned our purpose and destiny would still be the same. What Jesus did was to reconnect the bridge so to speak that was broken, in order for human beings to get back into right relationship with God.<O:p</O:p

Our rule with Jesus is not limited to the millennium, it is forever.

Revelation 22:5 (NKJV)
5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.

ok, but reign over fellow saints? kinda of odd. the purpose of the millenium is for the redemption of the survivors of the trib and also those that never gotta a chance to know the lord and or died not hearing the gospel.

And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

Rev 22:4 And they shall see his face; and his name [shall be] in their foreheads.

Rev 22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever
the anticedent for they is the lamb of God with the father(they). interesting the first time they is used for the lord as in plural if i read that right.

I think we were created for the purpose of knowing and glorifying God, now and forever.

Sometimes I wonder why God didn't just let the souls he predestined for heaven just come on to glory; why even bother with life? does anyone have an answer? All I can come up with is that life is what a Pentecostal told me "training for reigning"--we sin, we are sinned against, we fall, but eventually God grabs hold of us and helps us create something useful and beautiful out of our short time on Earth. Then, we go to Glory for eternity. I guess life is training to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus? I don't know.

God created us to love Him by choice and for Him to shower His love and favour upon. He desires an intimate Father-child RELATIONSHIP. We will reign with Him forever as co-equals with His wonderful Son, Jesus.

This life we live here is but a wisp, but it is indeed a training ground for leadership in the Kingdom. What things we learn here and are gifted for here constitutes just a tiny prequel as to what we are in store for as far as responsibility in our forever royal roles.

We will reign with Christ, but we will also serve.

I see that you have been stuck in a box for a long time. Let me answer that question by asking you a few questions. What do you think is the reason why God created the universe with uncountable numbers of galaxies? Do you think God created it just for the sake of having it? Don't you think that God intends for us to create life on them and rule? Don't you understand the parable that Jesus told?<O:p</O:p

Here is one.

Revelation 3:21-22 (NASB77)
21 'He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
22 'He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'"

speculation, i dont speculate. its possible but that isnt really supported, for all we know it could the weaker less active christian we reign over.

BESIDES, that is what the cult LDS says. we become Gods and rule a planet!

I didn't say God needed us to love him. I said, "God wants us to love him."

Nevertheless, that is still not the reason......the Bible tells us but most Christians fail to see it because of what they have been taught.<O:p</O:p

In the Millennium, there will be many survivors of the Tribulation which will still be mortal. They will make up the nations of the earth which after the 1000 years will be stirred to rebellion by Satan when he is released from the pit.
