Who can answer this?

I always refer to the Word of God as the Bible.

Thank you.

I would understand the Word of God as Jesus Christ, due to capitalization. To me it is an unwritten word. I am just syncing there, because conveying the meaning some times gets very difficult.

And I would understand the word of God as the word of prophets. I would normally not refer to Paul's words as the word of God, for example, because Paul does not refer to his words that way.

if I may, if I was working in the prisons and I treat the convicts well. when one of them plots to kill me the others will warn me. now then lets also assume that these were violent felons. would we assume that they are always evil because of their crimes?

Those that do evil to you, may be merciful to the others, may be compassionate. There are no evil people. You see?

really? a pedophile isn't evil in the eyes of god? what about hitler? I posted that to force us to see that while man can do much evil that same man can also do good. but I quote jesus

for if ye do good to them that do good unto you, what thank have ye? for the sinners do the same
. jesus and his commands to be like him means we are to do good unto the enemies of us and the lord even when we don't want to.

Can you back it up with Scripture?

No, I cannot. For the same reason, as I think.

Because reading does not make one closer to God, as I think, but heart does.

The scripture could not change things, so that Jesus came, to change the things, as I think.

You see?

In my opinion Jesus did not treat anyone evil, neither Hitler nor pedophile.
woe unto Pharisees for ye..

woe unto Pharisees for ye fill the cup of the fathers that killed the prophets, for I shall send the disciples, the prophets and the apostles so that ye may kill them and the blood of righteous able unto Zacharias whom ye slew on the altar. that is in reference to ad 70.

You may find that Jesus does not convict Pharisees of being "Hitlers" or "pedophiles".

I think one needs to open his heart to what Jesus says.

why then did judge them for killing the prophets?, the Pharisee and now apostle paul sought to kill Christians. in fact he was part of the stoning of Stephen, so they did indeed murder.

tell me why did ad 70 occur then? what is just rome? of God exucting justice for his son's death at the hands of jews who rejected him ?

God gives us a measure of faith.
There must be something to it.

Actually the original language there in Romans is that He HAS given us ALL (all the Believers at the new birth) THE measure of faith. Then you have to practice hearing the Word (because faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17)) and ask for and let Jesus finish your faith (He is the Author and Finisher of it (and Finisher here is in relation to something like woodwork, where you turn a giant log into a grand piano, chunk by chunk, phase by phase, until it puts out the most beautiful music).

I just saw this post and decided to put this in :)

Hi sour(soontobesweet)berry,

Jesus is the Word, of course, He is called such in John 1 and elsewhere. The Word of God is the entire Holy Bible, not only the physical words of Jesus. Paul is whom God used to reveal the New Covenant in practice; his letters are what Jesus said to and instructed his disciples with in those 40 days He was walking the Earth after He resurrected.
It is the whole of what Jesus said when He told His disciples that there was MUCH more He wanted to tell them, but they weren't ready to hear it yet (He had to release His finished work through the cross and His resurrection). Paul didn't know he was writing 2/3 of the New Covenant, but God knew and He inspired his hand to write it all and then God said, "I'm going to use that as My Word!"
From Genesis 1 to Revelation 22, the whole thing is the Word of God. That's why in Psalm 89:34 God says My Covenant will I not break, nor will I alter the word is that gone is out of My lips. It's all God and it's all unbreakable, infallible, holy, good, pure, LIFE.

Love is in your heart, or as God says in the Bible, the hidden inner man of the heart, or your spirit. You are a spirit with a soul (mind, will and emotions) that lives in a body. Reading the Bible won't do anything for you unless it's read in faith, expecting to find/know God, expecting revelation. God's Word changes things; His Word carries the divine power to cause what He says to happen (Genesis 1 and 2 for starters - He SPOKE the world and everything in the universe into existence).

sourberry,
I've made it a point to observe men for the better part of my 69 years here and I have been indwelt by the Holy Spirit and studied under His tutelage since Jan. 1, 1990 and you are not right, sir. Men are guilty of all manor of sin and, as the scriptures teach, none of it can be forgiven except we believe in Jesus.

The problem with your Jesus is the same problem that we find, in scripture, with the Jesus the Islamics believe in, he is not Jesus the Saviour. The little acknowledged truth is that Jesus, God the Son never has and never will change. (Mal. 3:6a) With, just, a little study we will read John 1 and discover that Jesus, the Son and not the Father is the God of both the New Testament and the Old.

He has had the truth recorded in the Word for our edification, giving us the standard to measure everything, even the question Brother Allen began this string with. Jesus warned us of deceiving spirits and I can assure you, both from experience and from study of the Word of God that you need to learn to use the Yard-Stick to measure anything any spirit gives to you and you are not doing that.

There is nothing in this world more dangerous to you than you because of your lack of knowledge. You see, I no longer know the number of times I have read through the scriptures but every time I do so, God teaches me a brande new set of lessons from the same scriptures, that is why the Bible is known as the Living Word.

Now, while on this point, there is one very important thing to know about the Bible, God has had it recorded to be a mystery to any lost man. If you try to read the Bible and find it to be in conflict with itself or to be impossible to reconcile with what you know, you might not be saved but rather, deluded.

If you do understand the message of the Word, you are indwelt with the Holy Spirit but that does not mean you cannot be deluded by an evil spirit.

Hoping for God's blessing on you.

Depends on who is saying "Jesus saves", as I think.

"Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."
Interesting.
Chaff is the outer coat of wheat. The true value of wheat is the inner part concealed (partially) by the outer coat.

Our religious coat sometimes needs to be threaded off by the bishop, that the true worth of the inner man might be seen. God placed the value of wheat inside at creation. At our new birth, He comes inside us and becomes the new value we become. It is not us that do the work, but Christ that dwells inside the new us.

We judge those inside the church, but God judges those outside (feel free to post text).
