No, no, that's an unfair comparison. While it does have it's similarities, it does not mean that God is insecure, or that I implied it, or that it is not true about mankind. Jealousy is a sign of insecurity, however, with God it stems from a good place of caring and love and wanting to be in a relationship with His people, and you're darn right that it actually angers Him when when He can not!

With mankind, the jealousy stems from a bad place of mistrust. If there is no trust in a relationship then the relationship is insecure. Usually it is one sided. Where one partner loves and trust the other but the other does not trust them. There may be a good reason for the mistrust, and there may not be a good reason for the mistrust. Either way the insecurity is there and must be dealt with to be rid of the insecurity. Jealously can be confusing to some. Some may feel that if the partner is not jealous of them, then they do not love them or do not care. Nothing could be further from the truth

I agree with most of what you are saying Edward and I'll only speak for myself when I say that it's the same way i look at my relationship with Thayanee and Eli. Nothing to do with mistrust. But if anyone was to try to hurt them, then I'm pretty certain I'd be doing a whole lot of sinnin' and retributin', then repentin'

I think I know where you're coming from though. Jealousy from "perceived" dalliances, flirtations or whatever is a whole different ball game and yep it is insecure. Working security in bars and nightclubs eons ago, I have seen that type of jealousy too often

I think maybe the term "jealously guard" is maybe unique to UK / Oz / Kiwi English as it has nothing to do with the insecure type which you're talking about and that we agree upon.

You used to work security too?! Hehe, me too brother, before I went into the trades.I know what you mean by jealousy guard. Geez, I seen too much action at the local bowling lanes over just what you speak of.

Yep, in every nation there are the "instant trouble maker, just add alcohol" type of people Edward. Perceived, flirts, innuendos, insults and threats take on monumental significance when seen through beer goggles in a blokey atmosphere, as at the same time common sense makes a quiet exit via the backdoor. :P

Yeah. Our Bowling Alley had a nice lounge in it. My main function was to keep people from leaving with open containers, officially. My real function was peacemaker. I had to fight an off-duty cop who was BIG, one night because he caught his wife coming out with another man and started slapping her around. Good thing he was drunk when he showed up or it might not have gone so well as it did for me. I had to be pretty hard on him with the PR-24. There was a lot of blood.

Oddly enough, he came back the next night and apologized to me. That was pretty big of him I thought.

Me either sometime's Claudya, not always my fault, but when i have a strong opinion,or worse, I know I'm 100% right about something, I can be a little...ummm.... vocal or dissenting. Over here, part of the ancient culture is to have this feudal attitude of not arguing with your "superiors" . Even if your boss or a person of standing in the community is totally wrong, ineffectual, or an out n out corrupt liar (Thailand's economy will collapse if they wipe out corruption), you are supposed to accept it.....umm.. bad news for you guys, this westerner does not sit quietly and WILL cause trouble if needed to remedy a problem which negatively affects all except Mr Elite guy.

BTW I hate that term..only our Lord is superior to me. The rest of us are equals...

In fact quite a few times, I've got in the back of a paddy wagon and one or two ambos to apologize for having to do it, with a "but you left me no option" added to it. Usually it was a very begrudging "yeah, 'spose so" so kudos to your boy in blue

A PR-24 is a side handled baton similar to a tonfa, but constructed from aircraft aluminum (and plastic handle). Yeah, that was veery impressive of him to apologize to me, and he got the worst of it. Cops usually have huge egos.

Really. I didn't know that. I still have mine. I know they say no head shots with them, but that big cop I fought...I got him right in the forehead with it on purpose. He wasn't reacting to standard knees and solar plexus shots and I could NOT let that big boy get ahold of me. A good forehead shot with it set him back and stopped the fight, but he didn't hit the ground. He was tough!

Ahhhh, not legal in Oz unless you are a rent-a-cop on public transport / private security in malls etc. In bars / night clubs, a big no no as are tasers, pepper spray etc. Keep the playing field level (except when I had 11 members of ***** MC to deal with...alone..because my "mates" took "flight" over "fight"....my turn for ambo)

My dad had his old baton from when he was on the police force.He was on vice.He kept it in his trunk.My dad came upon my Ex-husband once in a very scary situation between myself and my X.My ex-husband is still living..

yes but said riot batons aren't lawful , if used the cop could face jail or civil penalties. I recall a story of an mp instructor who was wrote up for using a flash light and knocking out the guy who attacked him with a knife. he could have shot him and nothing would have been done. yet he had the flash light in hand when he was attacked and did what he had to do.

PR-24's are wonderful! For that vast grey area between fisticuffs and lethal force. This big boy wasn't going to lose, he was very aggressive, so no wrist drag or Georgia State Police Takedown was going to work with him. I was worried about the head shot with it, but the city cops were very nice, and said hey, you don't have to be a punching bag for anyone. God bless that man.

The paramedic tried to give me some crap about it, but I told him to just do your job, and I did mine, and his supervisor called him off.

I have been trained in their use. I prefer to use the asp. I can use that like the escrima sticks , a tonfa lacks that power.
