Really? In what way? Has anybody here said you would be lost because you don't keep the sabbath and would rather believe your church hierarchy has a right to tell you when to congregate?

westtexas, this is true! WHEN the sabbath test will be made plain to all the world, then some decisions will have to be made - either God's side or the enemy's side. Will there be those who miss out on heaven because they disregarded the fourth commandment? My answer to this question is the same answer I would give if someone were to ask me will a person make it to heaven if they unrepentantly lived contrary to the sixth commandment, or the seventh commandment, or even of the commandments - the answer is no! That is why this issue definately needs to be addressed! James 2:10-12 says "for whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

The bible is clear that we will be judged by the royal law - the Ten Commandments. To deny this is to deny scripture.

HOWEVER, will there be those in heaven who did not obey the fourth commandment? Absolutely! The bible is also clear that God will judge people according to the light that they have. If you did not know this truth or was never introduced to this truth, God in His infinite mercy and love will not bring this offense to your charge. But if you are made aware and refuse to obey the commands that God has given....you know the rest...

Sir, I will not debate with you. Frances, Tina, and many others in this thread have given you many scriptural references to their beliefs, and you, as the Pharisees did, continue to focus not on their faith in our God but in what you feel is their lawbreaking. Our Lord Jesus Christ is our example. I am sure that as the others do, you feel that He was sinless. In all the gospel writings what do the writers focus on? They focus on the WORK of our Lord on the Sabbath. He fed the hungry, He fed his brothers, He healed . In Matthew 12 when the Pharisees complained to Jesus that His disciples were working on the Sabbath, did our Lord say "You are correct, they are sinning?' He didnt say that, instead, He called them blameless and guiltless. I worship my Lord on Sunday. If I am called home today, you and the SDA may condemn me-but my Lord will call me blameless and guiltless. It is by faith I have been saved.

LOL!! But the fact of the matter is that Satan hates this!! Psalm 119:151 says that all of the Lord's commandments are truth. And so naturally, Satan has hated the Sabbath truth and has been attacking the Sabbath truth for millennia after millennia because the central theme of the fourth commandment is the one thing that Satan wants - WORSHIP!! Satan wants what God receives, and that is worship. This is why Satan has a counterfeit for everything that God has established. God has a kingdom, Satan has a kingdom; God has angels, Satan has angels; God has a worship system, Satan has a worship system; God has chosen a day for His creation to rest, worship, and commune with Him, Satan also has a day for men to worship. And whats even worse, Satan even has preachers and teachers of Christianity helping him out. Guys, the bible doesnt say that Satan deceives the whole world for nothing!!! He is the prince of this world and most of Christianity is worshipping on and regarding a day that has absolutley no biblical support! But yet the day that has biblical suppot and that God established is being downplayed and taught that it should be disregarded. Does this make sense??? Do you think that the day the Roman sun god was worshipped and the official day of rest and worship for the vast majority of Christiandom is a coincidence?? Especially when a lot of the customs of Christianity came from this Roman system?? Who do you think was murdering millions of Christians during the middle ages??? And yet this same entity claims that most protestants worship on Sunday because she said so... So again I ask, why do you guys regard Sunday as the "new day" of rest and worship when the bible says no such thing??

I don't recall God saying that in the OT !!! .... This is what He REALLY said :


Exodus 20:8-11
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. "IN IT YOU SHALL DO NO WORK" ..... That's what God said ---- He did NOT say no TV, entertainment ..... Which do NOT constitute work ! .... That's YOUR OWN addition ! ....

And in both passages above, God asked the ISRAELITES (JEWS) to remember HIS CREATION of the world in 6 days and how they were "a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out from there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm".

So tell me Brother Lionel, do you honestly abstain from commerce, TV, entertainment and work and spend a good 24-hours on Saturdays remembering HIS CREATION of the world in 6 days and how they were "a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out from there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm" ???

Jesus was explaining to the Pharisees that on the sabbath the tabernacle/temple priests performed the work of the Lord on the sabbath, thus doing the work of service for the Lord for the people Israel.

Jesus was doing the same thing. Both He and his disciples were doing the work of God and thus were blameless in gleaning for a personal meal on the sabbath. Second, according to Deuteronomy 23:25 Jesus and His disciples were gleaning, not reaping. Lastly, the Pharisees accused Jesus of breaking their sabbath traditions found in the Talmud. Jesus clearly was not violating Torah.

That might explain why more and more Christian discussion boards are finding the most discussed topics on those boards are issues regarding the sabbath! Go figure.

It appears, in these 'last days' that God is indeed making the sabbath and it's importance to His word and His truth an issue.

I can't speak for Brother Lionel, I can only speak for myself but we should be reminded that 6 to 8 hours of that 24 hour period is spent sleeping!

I spend about two to three hours on Friday night in a state prison and I spend about 2 hours in church on Saturday morning and another 3 hours in a federal prison on Saturday afternoon.

First off,all Israelites weren't Jews but all Jews were Israelites. Second there are two reminders regarding the sabbath. One is the reminder that God is Creator the second is the reminder that God is redeemer.

You sound an awful lot like a Pharisee here IMHO. People that go to church on Sunday have little regard for how that day is kept. Off to church for an hour or so and they consider that they have "put in their time."

Right smack in the middle of it all. It's His day. He wrote the very commandment. He is the Lord (owner) of the sabbath.

You use this way to much frankly. Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean other people have a "screwloose." It simply means you lack understanding and comprehension of spiritual matters. The mind of the flesh is against God and His law and can never be subject to it. Without the Holy Spirit it is impossible to obey the word of God.

Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

God said remember HIs creation .... I'm reminded of His creations every single day at the sight of trees , plants, and the sky .... just by looking out of my window !
