Would Jesus Get Banned On A Present Day Christian Forum?

The decency argument is subjective and arbitrary.
Is the statue of David obscene or art?

That's just it. Christian morality isn't a very subjective matter. If it were, there would be no laws at all, either in the Old Testament or the New. But there are plenty. There may be matters where you have to righty divide between different sets of circumstances, but Christian morality is not "subjective and arbitrary" by any stretch of the imagination.

Nope... optional to view... if it is criminal it will be reported.
The ignore feature would be more robust than other sites... allowing for a filtering of content.
The filtering would be by the viewers choice... not the admins.
The admin could label content as hate speech... and the viewer can decide if they want to see it or not.

I need to bounce out, but if I'm being candid I'll have to be honest with you. I think your defense of freedom of speech at all costs has crossed over into enemy territory.

And all that would be addressed in the filtering mechanism.
I am not saying that everyone should be bombarded with every post on the site.
Sign up process would ask questions about your level of comfort with objectionable material and warnings that nothing is censored.

"...Christian morality is not "subjective and arbitrary" by any stretch of the imagination"?????????
Have you seen some of the artwork in certain cathedrals, churches, places of worship?
Again... art or obscene?

????
Where am I defending free speech?
Filters would be in place and safeguards taken.
I think silencing people based on unpopular speech is totally in enemy territory.

I would think that killing someone is the ultimate form of banning them.
But, banning someone is the equivalent(or the very nature) of rejecting them and wanting to silence them.

Do people reject Jesus?
Do people close their ears to Jesus?
Do the religious leaders(of any time) always follow Jesus or do some follow their own path?
Are the people in control of forums the leaders of their forums?
Yes... Jesus would be rejected by some, if not most, religious leaders because His message would not change... and men's hearts are the same.

Who did Jesus talk out of banning Him?
Saul would be the only example I could find... and Saul was just a representative of the religious order of the day.
The "temple" didn't change it's opinion of the Church because Saul became Paul.
So the Church was still being cancelled, censored, banned.
Do you have other examples of who got talked out of banning Jesus?

I gotta admit, you are making good points here.

I don't know that Jesus talked someone out of banning Him. That is a largly facetious statement. But all I know is how He talks to me. And even when He is bringing my mistakes to my attention, it is in a very non-confrontational way. He can speak on a different (yet similar) subject and not even address the mistake directly but His conversation will lead my thought processes to to the truth and understanding sets in and I realize my mistake myself, but through the help of the Lord and how He talks.

Hearing the Lord's voice speak to you is hard to learn but it is simple to do. Once I learned it and could hear Him, I could not get away from Him! I go upstairs and He is there, talking. I go the kitchen, He is there! So I think I understand what was meant by ears to hear. Some have ears to hear and some do not.

He is so smart, that no one can make him trip up and become in danger of being banned. Omniscient is a big word now, lol. The power of God flows through His Words, yes? So how could He get banned from a forum unless He allowed it? What He wrote would flow into you as you read it! and humble your heart, Brother! Thus He would set an exempleray example and not be banned.

He came in peace last trip and they killed Him. He used that evil situation to turn it to good for you, His people that you may live. He wears a sword next trip! But He still talks way in front of you. No one can beat Jesus at Chess!.

That actually would not be up to Jesus. Have you read the ToS of most of these message boards? Have you compared the ToS to the words of Jesus and of His Disciples?
Peter was banned by the "temple" and his response was... do I listen to you or God. (Rough paraphrase.)
He came in peace last trip and they killed Him. He used that evil situation to turn it to good for you, His people that you may live. He wears a sword next trip! But He still talks way in front of you. No one can beat Jesus at Chess!.
So Jesus would outmanoeuvre the admins and mods on websites?
Or would He allow them the freedom of choice to block their ears to His words?
Would He trick mods into allowing His words to remain, or would He honour their free choice?

I say Jesus would have (1) wiped the dust from off his feet, (2) gone to another forum where he could continue to teach until it was time to (3) do what He came to do.
.

But He always speaks in a way that can not be attacked. I can't explain that other than to say, He is GOD. When He speaks, He is nice guy and has such compassion and empathy and love in the way He talks that it is coming right from His heart.

So the only people who could become angry at what He might say, are unbelievers. And light repels darkness. When the sun comes up, it does not have to rebuke the darkness to get it to leave. Here comes the light, there goes the darkness. What goes faster than the speed of light?
Darkness. But that is Jesus, let's face it. All of us dumb humans here arguing all the time can't think or be perfect in our walk like Jesus was. In fact I suspect the course was designed for all to fail! His ways are above our ways. His thoughts, above our thoughts.

No Troll could touch Jesus! When a troll says ban this new guy jesus, I bet somehow it works out that he doesnt. Maybe the troll does, ideally. I bet if Jesus got trolled on a forum that He just might speak to the man! And if you think that Jesus couldn't touch them with His words right through the computer! Banned?? That was stupid question, lol. He doesn't talk like that. He is impeachable!

What kind of questions are those? He is Holy, Brother. There is no trickery, there is truth.

Scripture tells that the earth is made of both, the seen and the unseen. The unseen for us humans is the spiritual realm, or the Kingdom realm. You can't see it usually but it is there and if you press into it through the word of God and prayer you will have access to it and to the available power. Power to save, power to heal. Power to walk on water?!

You see, the hardest thing to do is to leave the safety of the boat and committ your weight to the water. That is hard!! But one can not walk on water unless they get out of the boat. My point is to maybe not look at these things from a purely carnal perspective? These are spiritual matters eh? This is real, there is power in the name of Jesus. Speak to your world! (But from a spiritual perspective!)

Yes, I guarentee that it will be Twilight Zone and Foolishness to the world (carnal perspective) so you can expect backlash from that, lol. It goes with the terriority Brother. God works in mysterious ways.

He has done a lot for me. I thought about these things from scripture and so I got our of the boat so to speak to see what would happen. When you get out of the boat, there is faith! We are...depending on Him. And this my friend, is what He responds to. It's what He does!

Nice preach but I don't see the application to this thread.

If that is what you get from reading the Gospels... then we must have different Bibles.
"He speaks in a way that can't be attacked"... but He was attacked... often.
"He is a nice guy"... but He was despised and rejected. "Brood of vipers" is a nice guy remark? "Your father is the devil"... sounds like a "nice guy" to me.

Sometimes I don't talk so sweet and pretty and I used to be a lot worse at it. But I am well aware that the Lord instructs us to walk in love and watch your mouth. By your words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned. And I was thinking about that and my walk with God, and I can't shake the feeling that, some things still need to be said some times.

Then it occured to me that, Jesus didn't always talk so sweet and pretty either. Scripture is replete with the Lord calling people Hypocrites! Vipers! Satan! Thos are four letter words back then. He even got mad and dumped the moneychangers tables over and kicked them all out! Wow.

So I couldn't help but wonder how long Jesus would last on a modern day Christian forum before He got banned?

What do you think? You know how people are on forums! Have you ever heard of Jesus taking any crap off of anyone? I haven't. And when he went to the cross, that was Jesus laying His life down by choice, out of love for you. So I don't think the cross counts.

What do you think? Would they show Jesus the door?
Yes, more than likely. And the rest of the world would accuse him of "hate speech" thus forgetting the cross.

Look again.
No site is without the sin of censorship.

If there was no sin then censorship woud not be needed. First was sin. So a gospek was needed and then came internet forums so censorship is a needful thing because of sin. The Censorship is not sin itself but is a response to sin.

If there was no sin in the world like in the millenium, then censorship would still be needed in the form of, guidance from our Lord. Because mankind is (as a species)....too dumb to be able to get along without God. We were created to serve Him, and I want the job!

Why are you calling truth, sin?

You know, this is a very interesting thought to meditate on. I know I would come under chastisement and correction for some things, and quickly, like we virtually all would. Would I be ready to make changes? I think if it meant being in direct communication with my Lord I'd be all for it, despite how painful the corrections might be. As the scripture says, "Those whom He loves He disciplines."

I truly doubt if most people would take that same position, however. It also says that no discipline is pleasant at the time, and the Jews had a habit of being stiff-necked and rebellious for one. I'd take most Christians to be the same today. They'd probably resort to shouting, "You're not Jesus!" and then declare Him to be a heretic who operates in supernatural gifts by the power of Satan, Lol. :rolleyes

I used quotation marks around "Christian" to indicate that I was not speaking of actual Christians necessarily. There are many, many "tares" in the Church today - especially in the West. These are they who would find Christ repulsive, who would not find him the mirror they often make of him, catering to their preferences and personal philosophies. He would, I think, stomp all over much of what these "tares" hold dear, calling out their compromise and hypocrisy just as he did the Pharisees of two millennia ago. As a result, they would deny his deity and want to be anywhere but in his presence.

I'm not sure genuine children of God in the West today would fare much better, however. Many of them, too, have grown very self-focused, fearful, and relativistic, and have become enormously sensual (by this, I don't mean sexual necessarily) in the practice of their faith. Few actually have a daily, concrete experience of God that is biblical. These compromised believers would find Jesus intensely...uncomfortable, I suspect. In their case, though, "like calls to like," the Holy Spirit in them responding to the "call" of Christ, drawing them to him despite the discomfort. As has been pointed out, the Prodigal Son in the pigpen looked up from the filth and said, "I will go to my Father. The pigs never did this, not being sons of the Father, but remained content to wallow in the mire.

Well He is a nice guy if you do not attack Him. Jesus hasn't ever called me a hypocrite or a viper or anything of the sort. Maybe those guys back then needed a sterner talking to?

Story.
I have heard the audible voice of the Lord one time. The room's atmosphere was like electrified, and His presence was like (boom) the strongest that I have ever felt, before or since!. He spoke and tols me to pray for a certain person that he needed help.

So I did the stupidest thing in the world in that moment. I knew it was the Lord. I was amazed instantly that I literally recognized His voice. I knew who it was. So I said, Why? What Happened? Is he ok? (facepalm).

That was the stupidest thing I could have said. Scripture warns us not to question God or His messengers. Remember when Johns father was struck dumb until the baby was born for questioning God? So I count myself as very lucky that I did not get struck dumb or worse. I praise God He didn't do anything to me for that! What He did do when I said all those things, He replied that the man needs help right now pray right now for the man...but He said it to me in a different tone than the first time! That parental tone that parents use on the kids that means, Obey Now or Doom! That is the tone that the Lord took with me. I tell you what, that tone terrified me so much, that I learned a very very good lesson that day.

If the Lord shows up and tells you to do something...the only correct response is, Yes Lord....!!! So I went into prayer immediately and the man did get help. It was serious for him but he is ok.

Now the point. Jesus never said one word to me about my insububordination. His very tone carried much power and His words carry power. A slightly stern tone was all it took for me to be humbled. Suppossedly we on earth have never heard the voice of God so I shouldn't have 'recognized' His voice, but I did. All I can say is, when Jesus walks into the room, there's no mistaking it at all.

His words will reach out touch people through the electronics of the computers. They would not dare to ban Him or try to because the necessary trip to earth to pay mans price for life was over 2000 some years ago. Now He is back and has manifested Himself to people like He said He would. The Lord is all over the internet. Trolls would not be able to stand against the Lord on a forum if He posted as Himself. The trolls still might try though for the time being. At the 2nd coming it'll be game over for them. Jesus could talk circles around you without violating the ToS, Lol!

Just because they beat up Jesus and killed Him on his first trip here doesn't mean that the same rules apply now. SO I think He may have changed the way He talks to mankind since biblical days. I doubt Jesus would sign on and post Brood of Vipers! or anything like that. He has more class than that to even get called out on a forum. Jesus is God, He is always 100 moves ahead of us and from my experience, He has never said anything that may be able to a reason for being banned.

I am not talking about if Jesus came now as in a second coming.
I am talking about if Jesus came as He did the first time with the same message but at this time.

Jesus is a classy guy that wouldn't be called out on a forum???? But He was called out on the forum of His day.
Please read the ToS of this forum and the Gospels and answer me if He would be banned?
Yes He would. If He said, what He said, He would be banned.

If I(or anyone) called anyone on this forum a son of the Devil I would be banned.
Jesus called people the son of the Devil.
Jesus would be banned.
Simple.

So admins and mods are now in charge of purging the internet of sin?
Censorship is a response to sin... but what about when the truth is censored?
Why are you calling truth, sin?

This is a good question. They are not in charge of purging sin because man can not do that. Only God can forgive sin. Banning people or censoring their content selectively would be a sin. Sin is a personal thing and not everyone are trolls but the admins do have to play Marshal Dillon and it's always a judgment call. Ideally, a spirit filled Christian makes the call but that's not always the case. It's spiritual warfare. The internet is a huge medium so the trolls are many.

I think Internet forum Moderator has to make the list for most crummy jobs there is! Everyone is fighting on the internet. More than it used to be. Something is happening lately? Not merely the forum, I mean across the board.

Jesus would be banned.
Simple.

I think that is significant. Jesus was still in OT times when He was here and calling them out as Satan and vipers.

Times change. It's a new culture with a politically correct approved word list, Son of the Devil is not an approved phrase in todays world. W're new covenant now and He's trying to teach us how to love people and God. And Jesus is bright enough to not use the N word, Lol! (or whatever). SO He would not get banned.
