sadly many of these advances pale in comparison to the inventions used to kill men. often nations have advanced during war time and not peace time . i mean like this'

the entire space program started by the capture of v2 rockets and the nasa wasnt for space exploration but for the cold war threat to be kept at check. needed yes but well that isnt what i would call peacefull use as the cape has military purposes to it then nasa. nasa is but a small part. the navy has a port there as well.

iraq and afghanistan has reaped huge gains in medical advance in prothesis and also traumatic injuries to the brain and ptsd.

odd how man gets better.

so war is the best way to progress man. interesting.

and SICK.yup god does use things but if that is the way i read that.uh we cant tell the athiest god doesnt make men do evil ever again.

sorry, all that stuff doesnt make man a better person.

so what we live 100 trillion years but we still sin and commit evil. has that been changed? the evils we see today have always been.

racism
abortion
euthanasia
paganism and new age in the church

these arent new.
and slavery and homosexuality. slavery isnt dead just went underground in the west and also is open in islamic states

Who would have thought regicide could really have such an impact. But when the pharisees murdered the Lord they did so with evil intent ,,, so it doesnt really count.

Progress is measured by different metrics. You're only looking at one.

But given that there are useful technological advances that come out of every war, try to think of it as turning a frown upside down. :thumbsup

i cant. if you only knew the deals with mass murderes we made to get some scientific data

every wonder where and how the epi-pen came about? and what it was for?

i do. and i know

it you were to be hit by sarin gas and had that i could administer that too you and save your life. funny that the epiphedrine used for that countering nerve gas(which it doesnt it just keep the ole ticker going) works also on anaphylaxis.

i prefer peacetime progress over wars so called progress.

i joking tell the war hawk republicans we best be building a space fleet that is armed in case of the aliens that invade. dont want to appear weak now do we.

and thats the lord business. so the lord is for war? and needless lusts and killing for oil? and also land?

per james

From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?

2Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
4Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
5Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? 6But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble

so if by killing babies a thousand homeless are fed thats progress??

what is the difference between that and what you said?this is why i am not a calvinist and it cant be laid on god without that oh so mental gymanastics as god let man do with the earth as he will for now and nothing suprises him.

I havent the foggiest.

i will remain on topic, the problem here is that the idea of being removed from the judgment may not be what the lord meant per other eschatological verses.

ie in context one at the mill the other taken.noah was carried though the judgment and the sinners taken.

it could be that when he comes we that are alive remain on the earth and he comes to judge the earth and removes the sinners.this can make sense and is very possible.

given that in jude that the lord per the prophet enoch

jude
15To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

16These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
17But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
20But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
21Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
22And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
24Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen

so there would have to be a problem with any trib theory per this. as some saints will be on the earth when the lord comes.

Good points all. The amazing thing to me is that there will still be "nations" on earth during the 1000 years reign who will come to worship in the Jerusalem. I want to stay on topic too but after all the tribulation of the bowls and trumpets that anyone is still alive on earth is pretty amazing.

And what is even more amazing is that when they travel to Jerusalem they will all ride camels and donkeys.

Aint literalism fun?

It might be funny if it were Scripture. It isn't. Rev 15:4Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for [thou] only [art] holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

You see anything about camels or donkeys there, Hitch? Might be a lot more fun to crack jokes if you were informed on the subject.

15And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague. 16And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
17And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
18And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

Now thats funny.Literally.

a quote from isiaiah. that is in reference to the millenium.

i havent read any pre-trib/millenial commentary on that.

Nope. It's from Zechariah, but Hitch left that out. Hitch is tying the Zechariah prophecy to Revelation. He is more postmil and partial preterist.

Please people, book and chapter as well. :salute

But I do want to say, if we were to follow proper premil interpretation, the trumpets and bowls are part of God's wrath, not tribulation. Just clarifying the off topic comment about the two events.

i am well aware of the trumpets and gods wrath. and oddly some assume that the church wont be there during that. yet it shows many a do repent.

hmm. interesting aint it.

of course some say that america is going to face a like wrath. if so perhaps this revival will come fruition.
who knows.

He is more...partial preterist.

Aren't we all? Christ fulfilled at least 300 OT prophecies with His first advent - from conception to resurrection, and they were all fulfilled before 70 AD.

If anyone believes that (and they should if calling themselves Christian), then I'd say they're preterists, too. :o

Actually, I don't see anything in that passage about Christ being on earth, either. How do you reconcile the text of Revelation 15:4 with your first quote?
